Good Morning!

We have good news and bad news this morning. the good news, Bill was able to track down our electrical problem and fix it - better than new! Wiring crimped to hard during construction sparked, melted the plastic covering and the GFCI cut the power, like it was supposed to.

The bad news is that more damage was found on our truck and it's going to take another week to repair. So we are renting a car today. Two full weeks is too long to depend on others for transportation. We have places to go and things to do - with my DD! Another concern - eventually black water tanks (from the toilet) need to be emptied. To do that, the trailer has to be taken to the dump station in the park. This is a new trailer so we're not sure how long we can go without doing that. Things could get very interesting here. Good thing we have a lot of woods behind us! ;o)

TINA - sounds like The Move will have to be thoughtfully orchestrated. I don't think it's going to be good to be you during all of this. But I wish you well! Is the semi trailer their storage shed or ??

CHICKIE - well look at you! Stylin' your way into the 21st century with your fancy DVD player! Smart of you to call on the younger generation. and you got a family party out of the deal as well!

IRISH - you had quite a list of errands yesterday! What is your new Cross-stitch project like? Getting a passport can be so confusing! I'm wishing you luck!! Last night around the campfire, friends, Don & Linda, were telling us about an eagle cam they watch and lo and behold it was Harriet and M-16! Of course, I had to tell them about the little Eaglet's honorary god-mother, my friend, Irish!

BECCA - your trails sound so nice! We explored the Blue Ridge Parkway back in "Ought-two" and loved it. Are you close to that?

JANA - if anyone ever cleaned up my kitchen like that I'd be ordering pizza, too! You have a super DDIL!

I had to just now consult with Billious about supper. He says he wants burgers on the grill. We were going to do that a few days ago but that's when the heavens opened up and dropped 2" of rain on us. We couldn't even get to our picnic table outside without waders. Today - 77* and sunny. Purrfect grilling weather!

If you don't have grilling weather yet, I hope knowing it's on the way will boost your spirits! February is just around the corner. At home we will have crocus blooming soon, if not now, and my violets and forsythia will follow soon after.

Good morning,

I see the table has been set and just waiting for all of us to gather with so many different dishes. I have quilting with my large group today so dinner will be something quick and easy. Let's see, think it will either be chicken pot pie or chicken breasts stuffed with broccoli and cheese. Now don't think for one minute I am making these from scratch. SAMs club to the rescue...frozen entrees. When DH wakes up he can choose which one he wants. Yes, today was my day to get up,with Luke. Seems like more and more days are MY Days to get up with Luke.

Mary, I know what you mean about leaving our pets for hours on end. I feel guilty sometimes leaving Luke for a few hours. He doesn't have a problem ...he just goes to sleep until I get back. When I left him at my DD in S.C.when I went to take care of my brother, she had to leave him to go to work. He did just fine. AND he was still spoiled when I got back there to get him. Lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Carolel with an e

Good morning! Another gloomy day today. We have a few chances for rain this morning, then possibly a peek at the sun later… she said hopefully…

Mary—enjoy your freedom with wheels! I hate just knowing I’m stranded. Since we have 4 vehicles for 2 people, it doesn’t happen often here… although… “the beater” has a flat tire. Hey, I know who to call for electronics… I’ve been the IT guy forever; now I think it’s time for the torch to be passed as often as possible. I need a grill to have grillin’ weather…

Jana—lucky you! It would be nice to have anything delivered! No one comes to the country… sigh! I still wouldn’t change living out here—even for Chinese delivery!

Carole—enjoy your quilt day. Hope your hand holds out so you can do a few stitches! Our fur babies do better than we think when left alone… most of the time anyway.

Becca—I really enjoyed making the twin boys’ quilts for DD’s friend. I had “Li’l Rascals” fabrics in my stash… purchased them for “something” just didn’t know what. This was perfect, and they love them.

Irish—hope it was a good night at your house.

Tina—when we moved in here, the kids wanted the trailer “right now” a month before their wedding to get it fixed like they wanted it. DS1 hooked it up to his tractor and started pulling east… across the pastures and hay meadow! They cut fences as they went. It looked like a modern prairie schooner. It was impossible to take it down the lane and make a 90 degree corner to the road, so they went overland with it. They just emptied all our stuff in the middle of the floor in our new house which was not totally finished.. Good thing they did, as we got 10” of rain that night after the big move! We’ve never had that much rain since at one time. It would have been months before they could have moved it if they had waited any longer. Sometimes it’s a “just do it” moment…

Mary—we had some fall forsythia blooming… it’s the regular stuff, just got totally mixed up in December!

Dinner tonight… maybe pizza and salad. I’m working in my sewing room… no sewing—just cleaning and organizing. It hasn’t been done in AGES, so it’s time consuming. I’m a big slob and “forget” to clean up after I make huge messes when working on multiple projects. I really wish I had half of an OCD gene.

Bon appétit!

Good morning!

In between snow storms at the moment. The sky is blue! Made it down to the Batt Cave and now looking at what trouble i can get into! LOL

I received some sad news yesterday - my oldest niece's only child was killed in a head on crash. He was 19. They live not far from Chriss in Modesto. This niece is only 9 years younger than I am. I will send flowers and a card. as it is wintertime and driving across Donner Pass is not something to do!

Mary - glad that you are getting wheels. 2 weeks is a long time, but having the truck done right is a good thing. It is great to have someone so handy! Bill can fix anything!

Becca - sorry - Kate is not available - she's all mine! LOL Boys are more challenging, but still just as much fun.

Carole - with a e - love to have pre made stuff in the freezer - more time to do all the things I rather do than cook!

Chickie - Oh the mud - forgot about that when the snow here disappears! When it comes to the DVR, Dish, TV and such hook ups - I run to the other room and leave it to the two electrical engineers and then when I want to use it, I need a degree! Just give me one remote and I am good! LOL

Dinner will be the pork chops, gravy, taters, veggie that i have wanted to cook for a week or so.

As the Builders Turns - another hiccup in the kids house - they were told to lock the loan in place - so that means they have 90 days to have the house finished, or it will cost more to keep the loan. Well, the builder's agent sent them a text message telling them that if the home isn't done, that the builder will pay the fees to keep the rate locked. The kids had their agent write a addemdum to the contract putting that in writing - the builder squawked and screamed that they never do that. Well, we have it in writing to the agent, the mortgage broker and the the kids that they will, so now we wait and see - we know a good lawyer too! Why do they make it so hard to buy a home? So the home is progressing in getting finished - hopefully the will be done by March.

Enjoy,
Jana
