daily devotion Jan 16

Truth: we always want to be told the truth even if it hurts but so many have a hard time telling it. I can recall my mom saying the truth hurts. Yes, sometimes it does but it can hurt worse if you are false and then reveals the truth later.

We know the truth that JESUS saves and that with this salvation we can get into Heaven and YES, He is the only way no matter what this world tries to tell us. All the lies and false teachings out there are there to deceive us and who better to start the lies but Satan himself.

Keep God near you at all times for HIS mercy is great and the TRUTH is just beyond the clouds:)

Hugs Prayers and God bless
Izzy

Izzy Thanks for this.I always heard as a child the truth hurt but it's much better than lying. One lie leads to another & sin snowballs & leads to death.Praise God for his mercy grace & love toward us.last week I saw God at work in our lives ,prayers answered & what a blessing it was .May we all see Gods hand at work in your lives. To God be the glory. Funny, Marilyn and I were just talking about lying yesterday. And she was telling me about how lying is harder because you have to remember the lie.

Thanks Izzy

Sadly there was someone in an area where I worked and she was a constant liar. I was told that by her manager and I said no that sounded so bad. However, she lied to me and I actually knew the background of the situation so I knew it was a lie but she kept on and on and was one lie after another. So sad she had a great memeory I guess however used so wrong.

I also was told the truth hurts, and sometimes its is very hard to deliver the "truth" like when I ask my DH if an outfit looks OK. So it hurts for awhile and then its over and is for the best. Most of the time I believe we do know down inside it is wrong and are afraid to hurt someone we love which is more a reason to be truthful too.
So we need prayers for strength and quidance through these situations.
Thanks for the reminder, Satan is so very clever.

Thanks for the truth reminder,
Blessings
TinaB

Thank you for this, today, Izzy...
I, too, was raised to tell the truth at all times even though it can hurt...or to be quiet and say nothing if it is going to hurt someone through gossiping.
When I realize someone who I thought was a friend has lied about me or deceived me it is very difficult to trust them again and the relationship is never the same.
On the same term I have trusted those and said some things that could have been left unsaid that were repeated (although true it doesn't matter.) I have to ultimately take the blame for that.
I think I've definitely learned over the last couple years, FINALLY, who I can trust and who I cannot and those times to just keep my mouth shut.
I can always trust Jesus and the Word of God...
Reading His Word I seek to find a way to live that I never find a situation I'm in that lying seems necessary....

And yes, TinaB...Satan is indeed very clever...

Truth is eternal. You will never go wrong with the truth. You won't have to remember which story you told to who. Truth is something you learn and can testify to, learning each principle of the gospel and putting it to work in your life, builds your faith and trust in your Heavenly Father.

I smile as I type this, as my mom understood that much in her last years - but she still told a different story to different people. She always thought is worked, but we knew better. we love to compare what she told us - it is a hoot! We felt bad that she didn't understand due to her dementia, but it gave us a comic relief as we had to deal with those problems. There were blessing, even in the times of trial.
