daily devotion Jan 12

As heat refines gold and makes it beautiful, trials burn the dross out of our lives. Trials are not easy to endure, but there are lessons to be learned from them.

Trials teach us to rely upon God. Often we do not turn to God until there is nowhere else to turn.

Trials make us sympathetic. Only after we have suffered can we truly understand the suffering of others. Only one who has sorrowed can understand those who are walking through the valley of sorrow.

Trials can make us homesick for Heaven. If we never had sorrow, trouble, sickness, or disappointment, there would be no desire to go to HEeaven. Only after we have experienced winter's cold, summer's heat, disappointment, failure, loneliness, sickness, and sorrow can we truly appreciate the better country God has prepared for those who love HIM.

We must learn to cherish our trials, and praise God for them. They are more precious than gold.

This was my devotion today and I thought I would share it with you. I needed this today and I figured some of you could use it as well.

God bless

We sing a hymn, of which I love,

Where can I turn for peace,
Where is my Solace?
When other sources cease to make me whole
When with a wounded heart, anger or malice,
I draw my self apart, Searching my soul.

Where, when my aching grows,
Where when I languish,
Where in my need to know, Where can I Run?
Where is the quiet hand to calm my anguish,
Who, who can understand,
He, only one.

He answers privately,
Reaches my reaching,
In my Gethsemane, Savior and friend,
Gentle the peace he finds for my beseeching,
Constant he is and kind,
Love without end.

Izzy We all need to be reminded that our trials are for a purpose. To make us refined & ready to help others who go thru similar problems. It makes us more compassionate.
We had a trying day yesterday & I had a little chat with myself after some of the tension eased off.God is always near & we need never forget that.
