SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Jan 7th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jan 07, 2017 1:56 am

Good Morning!

We are either 17', 18', or 21' this morning, depending on which thermometer you are looking at. At this point, does it really matter? Yesterday we made our move to the other campground and so far I don't see the bad dog people. Whew! I spent the afternoon working on my Maypole quilt and got it together. Today I'll add borders and then decide what to work on next. Lots of sewing time here. I love it!

IRISH - That's too bad about the other egg, but they do say Mother Nature knows best. Sometimes I question her methods, but not too loudly. I don't want to get her riled!

CHICKIE - your birds must really put on a colorful show for you in exchange for the delectable buffet your provide! What's next on your sewing list?

BECCA - so happy to see you feeling well enough to come to the table! I hope the cough syrup lets you get enough sleep to break the coughing cycle. We need you well again! How is your DH doing with you being sick?

JANA - Wow! Are you sure those other fees were simply 'forgotten' by the broker? $500 is a lot! That seems rather improbable given that it was his/her job. I hope that's just one-time fees and not a jump in mortgage payments! Personally, I think the broker should pay them!

CAROL - so good to hear you are getting rain! And praying it continues until your resevoirs are filled!

Tonite's supper is still a bit of a mystery. I was thinking stew in the crockpot. But then we have leftover rice, fresh broccoli, carrots, celery, and onions as well as the last half of the kielbasa. Bill wants soup. So guess I'll start cleaning the fridge and tossing it all into the crockpot and see what happens. I like to call this 'creative cooking'. Sounds much more gourmet than what it probably will be. However it turns out, we'll be eating it in front of the Seahawks Wild Card game tonite.

Go Hawks!!

IRISH, I keep meaning to tell you - Autumn gave us a jar of pickles for Christmas. It's called Brother Floyd's Righteous Pickles with "a spicy kick". They are made in Dallastown, PA. Apparently Brother Floyd is the grandfather of one of Autumn's friends. Floyd came to Texas and looked all over at facilities all over Texas, thinking he might produce them down here, but couldn't find any that met his standards, so no pickles for Texas! Aut got this jar from her friend. They are AWESOME pickles! Have you seen them? If you haven't tried them, you really should. Not sure if they have varieties. Be prepared, though, they aren't kidding about the 'spicy kick'!

Good morning from a very, very cold, wintery, SW. Pa...But, as cold as it is, there are parts of this big old country that are a lot worse, so I'm not going to complain, too much, lol.....
Something I discovered this morning, it's really, really dark, at 3:30...Jim decided he had enough sleep and it was time to get up...Normally, he just comes downstairs, has his Ensure and sits in his recliner and I stay in bed but this morning, he was rambling and "getting ready for church", so I got up....And to make matters worse, no one else in the neighborhood had lights on.....But, as almost predicted, guess who's napping in his recliner...

Mary, I've never heard of Brother Floyd's righteous Pickles or Dallastown, Pa...For sure, I'll have to find that town on a map and hopefully, it will be close to someone and get some pickles...Even though I don't eat "spicy", my boys live by "spicy or hotter the better"....Had I told you about the Middlesworth potato chips that we all love? For Christmas I had sent Kathy a case and she told me, she has them all hidden, even from her DH.....
It is sad about the 2nd egg but as you said, we don't question Mother Nature...I sure hope in your walks at the new camp ground, you don't encounter any more "nasty" visitors....Still given me shivers when I think about you two out there, being attacked....
I sure hope I can stay awake for the game tonight....The Steelers play tomorrow play Miami tomorrow and it's going to be in the very low teens (if that) so Miami is in for a shock....We also have a Penguin game following the football game which I'm looking forward to..

Jana, I need to go back and read up on the money problem...Darn, that's a lot of money....Are you still having a "winter wonderland" out there?

Chickie, I do love to read about you feeding all your birds...We haven't been putting feed out because of the outside cat, sure didn't want the cat to think he was invited to a buffet..But, now that Jake has disappeared, I can fill the feeders...We have a couple of red birds that I often see and hopefully, I can get them to stop by more often....But, I still keep watching for Jake, just feel so bad I couldn't have done more to get him inside....

Becca, I was thinking about you last night while I was reading....In my book, a couple was running from the "bad guys" and ended up flying into Franklin, N. Carolina and hiding way up in the mountains.....But, also hoping and praying each day you feel better and we'll have you back, full time....I was also wondering about DN, hope all is peaceful....

Today is finish some uglies and then sew...I really should return a few books to the Library but I'm thinking it's just too darn cold...
Not sure what we might be eating later...Of course there's always my veggie soup but I'm sure Jim would like something different, lol....The freezer is full, it's just a matter of what might fall out 1st......

Happy eating..............Stay warm and be careful.......

Good morning,

Nope, that 500 is added to the mortgage for the life of the mortgage. So it went from 1100 to 1600 per month. We are hoping that at closing, it will go down some. Any little bit will help.

Grocery shopping today so we will see what jumps in the basket for dinner .

Enjoy!

Good Evening!
I had a class late this afternoon, so dinner was Fast Hash, salad, vegetable and bread. We ate 20 minutes after I arrived home. Yeah!

Jana - Sounds like there needs to be a new real estate broker. That really doesn't sound honest.

Irish - Sounds like you are all set for games tomorrow. Good luck!

Becca - Good news the cough med worked! Enjoy the winter wonderland. You make it sound very pretty.

Mary - Glad you are getting so much done on quilting!

I did not get any quilting done today, but tomorrow I will be quilting on the charity quilts. I just have the last border on one to complete. The class today was on binding quilts and I think I will be doing the binding all by machine which will be a first for me.

Carol
