Good Morning!
We are cooling down here for a bit but will be back in the 70's again in a few days. I finished my cat quilt top yesterday from last year's swap blocks. I do have a second set of cat blocks with me if I run short of projects. Today I think I'll start a little red/white/black log cabin called "Maypole" from the book, 'Curvy Log Cabin Quilts' by Jeanne Ann Wright. I did all the cutting at home so it's all ready to go!
TINA - enjoy your last day of vacation! I know how you feel. I love Snickers candy bars, but I don't want them all day, every day. (well, yeah, I really do, so maybe bad analogy.

] )
CHICKIE - what great entertainment you have outside your window! I love watching the birds. So do my cats . . .
JANA - is anyone else eating the things Kate is eating that is giving her food poisoning? You might be on to something about her gall bladder . . Thinking of Stu today and sending up a prayer for a successful surgery.
CAROL - Big Bang Theory is our favorite show. I've heard this is the last year for it though.

( and yes, I am getting a lot of sewing time in. But there's not much else to do here in the trailer. And I did cutting for most of my projects while still at home so they go quickly.
BECCA - so much going on with you and none of it seems good. Not the best way to begin a new year. Prayers things turn around for you soon and you are feeling top notch!
IRISH - today your washer arrives!! We know where you'll be for the next few days!
I think tonite's supper will be stir-fried kielbasa and veggies over rice. I find the simplest seasoning works well - olive oil and lemon pepper. And we add a bit of soy sauce at the table.
What's for supper at your house?

Good Morning Maryz
Boy you are a busy B! Got Lotto done, and now cranked out a quilt top lickity split.
I plan to make a list of projects that I want to accomplish this year, but like always, I have procrastinated about that as well. LOL
Boy, it sure did turn chilly over night. We have 45 degrees on our thermometer this morning.
Today is our quilting day at the clubhouse and I plan to take my machine and continue working on my mission quilt project that I brought with me. That is the first thing I want to get done. I am not even sure I will do Lotto this month. Still thinking about it. I would probably need to choose a different color, as I do not have as much fabric on hand and just don’t want to go buy fabric just for Lotto. If I am buying fabric, it will be for a whole quilt or to finish one of the many projects on my list for this year. So…. I am just still pondering.
I am not sure what will be on my menu for today. Thinking about a small ham with a box mix of scalloped potatoes???
I bought a turkey breast to do later in the week or on the weekend. We really like leftover turkey for sandwiches.
We like Big Bang Theory here, too. I had not heard that it was their last season. What a shame. I really like all the characters.
We just smoked sausage (like kielbasa, just not as spicy) the other day. I always love fried potatoes with it. Never tried soy sauce with it, but sounds great.
Have a great day.
Vel

Good morning! When I got up, the “feels like” temperature was 4 degrees! The “real” temperature was in the teens. I’m wearing fleece-lined jeans today. I’ll be going to take care of Ava, and I’m not sure about the others yet. I put out extras for the birdies, but I usually refill in the afternoon as well. They sure eat a lot!!! This would be an IMAX theater for Mary’s kitties!
Mary—love your cat quilt(s)! The curvy log cabin will be awesome! I haven’t tried one. I made my first log cabin blocks for the lotto… now I have less hair…
Jana—best wishes to Stu!
Vel—how neat to bring your mission projects with you. I went ahead and purchased some red for the lotto as I didn’t have any. I received a bunch of fabrics from my sister, and now I have loads of blues. The soy sauce with the sausage sounds interesting. I’d definitely try it or make something like a potsticker dipping sauce. That reminds me, we have some brats in the freezer I should fix… I’d like the turkey sandwiches, but DH doesn’t like the white meat.
Dinner here… maybe I’ll go out and get the brats. I can do some rice with them, a salad, and something else “veggie”… I had something from the sea planned, but now the brats sound good. DS3 and his friend make them with venison.
Bon appétit!

Mary, hahaha maybe you should say you shouldn't have a snickers every day instead of wanting one all day every day? ;o) I have missed the kids though.....I've seen them for just a little bit here and there so I've been getting my fix so I haven't had total withdrawal LOL
Jana, prayers for Stu.
Becca, get well soon! I agree with Mary, you need a better year!
Yay Irish, a new washer! What kind did you get? A front loader or top loader? I hope you got the extra big capacity

)
Vel,I don't buy just for lotto blocks either, I prefer to think of them as free tickets (from my stash) and then it's a true lotto when I win hehe.
Chickie, when I read your "when I got up the feels like temp was 4*" I expected the rest to say so I went back to bed to snuggle under my quilts LOL I'm glad my 1st experience with Log Cabin was better than yours, sorry you have less hair cause you really need extra with your temps!
We finished off the leftover soup last night and tonight will be the leftover spaghetti

) Sadly I will have to think new food tomorrow.

Good afternoon!
Thank you for the prayers for Stu. The surgery was successful. The doctor told Sarah that it was easier than he anticipated. No bone graft was needed, just a plate with screws. No brace or cast. The doctor wants Stu to start using it in a couple days - typing, etc. No lifting for awhile. Sarah will bring Stu home in a couple of hours.
Dinner - I have given up on pre-planning- they keep changing it on me - so there are the fixing for chicken, chi,I, soup, pasta, whatever will float their boat.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Tonight's dinner will be Apricot Chicken, baked potato for DH and Yam for me, salad and vegetable.
Busy morning running errands. I met the quilter again at the store to select thread and get batting. The store had at least three other people from the guild. The quilter stopped coming to guild when her youngest was born, the girl is now 18. She has been considering returning to the guild. Maybe today convinced her. I try to be a good ambassador for the guild.
Maryz - Some training on sleeping in is needed foryour dog! Congratulations on finishing the Cat quilt. Do you wait to quilt it when you get home?
Chickie - Hope you stay warm.
Vel - How nice to get together and work on your quilting.
Tina - We are on new food tonight! I had a ham sandwich for lunch today that was wonderful, but couldn't make it for dinner again.
Jana - Sorry you can't plan your meals. Maybe just plan for you and Michael and let the rest eat it if they are home? Glad to hear Stu's surgery went well. Hopefully the hand will now heal without problems!
Have a great day everyone!
Carol
