I sat this morning and read many devotions and pondered as to where God was leading me this morning. I am still pondering all that he showed me. This was the last chapter he took me to this morning. 1 Corinthians 13.

He showed me so much but here is where he planted me. What is my purpose? What am I looking for out of life? Do I serve people or do I serve the Lord? Who am I trying to make happy? Myself, others or God.

We all I think Ponder these questions but one thing that I know in life is that it can consume you to the point you lose track of what is really important. This Christmas holiday showed me that taking the simpler road and not the commercialized road that the world takes made my holiday much nicer. We made gifts this year I spent no time shopping. Less stress and much more joy in the time I spent with family.

One thing though that my life was lacking is time spent one on one with God. Time in the scriptures like I use to do. My own daily walk. So I am relooking how I start each day. I now start it again like I once did and loved and that is in HIS word first. So refreshing and eye opening where he is taking me. A refresher course for sure but HE knows what I need: yesterday in Proverbs as a Virtuous Woman, today in 1 Corinthians 13 Charity and Love.

Where does God want to take you? Are you even listening to HIS call? Sit back open your eyes, ears and heart to HIM and just listen. HE will guide each of you.

Hugs, prayers, and God bless
Izzy

Charity never faileth. That is the pure love of Christ. We as women has been given this trait of love and nurturing so we may be God's hands here on earth. There is a scripture that reads, When you are in the service of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of your God. What joy that brings, to those that are served, us and joy to our Savior that we listen and follow what he did.

What would the world be like, if we all served each other, in a Christlike Manner?

We have purpose here, to learn of that, we must walk by faith, seeking the answer. It will come, if we search and ask with a sincere heart.

Izzy, Thank you for giving us some words to live by on a daily basis.

One of my favorite verses in the bible. I just looked this up in my bible because I thought the word charity was love. In my bible, I had written "LOVE" in beside the word and it was written in the border beside each time the word charity was in that chapter. Don't know when I wrote those notes but in my mind it became LOVE.

To some people charity means give some money to a group and let them take care of people in need. Love means getting involved, becoming a part of that charity or service to others.

Sonya.... AMEN is right. What a beautiful thought, faith, hope, and charity abiding with US.

Jana.... How true, we all need to serve each other. So appreciate your comments each day too.

May all be blessed who come here for their mini bible study each day. Izzy what an inspiration your verse and notations are. And God bless those who reach out to others with words of hope and faith and, yes, charity or love.

Looking forward to another year of biblical truths and learning right here on this thread. Thank you everyone, Hugs and love to all, Shirley Mae

Izzy, I forgot to comment on that word pondering.

What a big word with deep meaning. I was really little when I first heard of "Mary, pondered those things in her heart". I didn't know what it meant but I knew it must have been very special and important since Mary did it in her heart, the special place of God.

I smiled when I saw your comments about pondering. That is something we all need to do from time to time. Not a common word today but such deep thinking as only we can do from the heart. The end of this year and the new one ahead does call for pondering on all our parts.

Thank you for the reminder and a peek into your pondering thoughts. May God bring you hope for a better, simpler, more Christ like tomorrow and all of us too. God bless, dear friends.
