SUPPER CLUB Wed December 14

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Dec 14, 2016 1:49 am

Good morning.

I never made it here yesterday. I stopped by and then bill invited me along on walk with him and Scottie. If we walk both loops of the campground it's 1-3/4 mi. A decent daily walk. And the day got away from me. I never even got dinner planned so we ended up eating scrambled eggs and sliced tomatoes and peanut butter fudge for supper!

We still want to put lights up inside our RV over top of slide and hang our stockings with care. I made us socks years ago and they have Santas in swim trunks and sunglasses with palm trees. I also hope to finish a little tree skirt for our tiny tree - a pattern my SS sent me (Mary/Rosebud).

IRISH, you are really learning what seems to trigger some of Jim's episodes. Do you have lots of Family pictures in the house for him to look at? And does he recognize people's pictures at younger ages? Does he still know his buddy, Ted? I really feel for you-you have your hands and heart full.

JANA - so sorry for Stu-after getting the OK on his hand and now having to face surgery. Kind of a scary prospect for him, I am sure. I hope, since it has been so long, that the surgery will be a success. Poor Kate! Does she have a gluten allergy? My niece can't eat in restaurants for that very reason. She also can't eat dairy so she is very limited.

TINA- you are busy, busy at your house. I am happy to say I got to see all these quilt tops in person! And they are over-the-top fabulous. Your grandkids will their quilts. We are out of peanut butter fudge. Just sayin ....

CAROLE - so happy to hear your brother can go to South Carolina. And you too! I don't think I could live without leftovers. And I'm with you, I love traveling and seeing new things and places. Just sitting in one place for a long time is not for me either. But it is Bill's thing. If I didn't have my sewing I would be pulling out hair - and not my own! Though seeing my DD every week does help. A lot!

Becca - glad you get to see your dgs at work on FaceTime. Your sugar cake sounds delicious. What kind of cake is it? So sweet of you to make a childhood favorite for your brothers. Jim always appreciated when I made some of mom's specialties.

CHICKIE - your place is beautiful. Like on a permanent vacation at a lodge - where they let you cook your own meals and wash your own dishes! Our property is like a campground and I love it But I love seeing other places, too, like Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, mt. Rushmore, liberty bell, civil war battlefields, Great Lakes. And more. But I always want to come home. Love my RV but living in it would never be for us. Though many of them are friends do live full-time.

CAROL - good luck with your stent removal. I hope all will be well with you after this. Sent up a prayer with your name on it !

On Saturday there is a white elephant exchange here so later this afternoon we are going with two other couples to look for gifts to take. Then we are going to dinner. It is a well-known fish restaurant is what I am told. Sigh. These people do not understand the word BANNED!! I guess I will pack a salad. LOL

Hope your supper is looking better than mine!

Well the chicken and dumplings never happened yesterday so it is on the menu today for sure. We had a large late lunch yesterday and no one wanted dinner, so I had the night off. Lol

This morning I made my late SIL's breakfast casserole and my DB said he would eat the left overs of it tomorrow. Will wonders never cease. Wonderful. Part of Xmas gift was a Omaha gift package, and it came yesterday. At least, I will know he has steak and other meat here to cook up when he gets home after Christmas.

Well better put the next load in the washer. Have a wonder day.

Hello everyone,We are in for a big chill here.

Maryz The sugar cake is a yeast dough which has some cooked potatos in it.You let it rise then you put it in pans to bake.Let rise again. Then on top spoon cream & brown sugar mixed.I mix mine the nite before & let it sit. Then bake & it's yummy. It is a Moravian recipe. They were a religious group seeking religious freedom. My GGrandparets were Moravians. My Grandmother always made this.Im Sure Alton & Lorenza will enjoy it.If he can eat.
Your Camper will be decorated I'm sure.Thank you so much for the card & cute ornament. You did a great job.

Tina Thinking of you & hoping your day goes smooth.

Chickie Reading about Paradise sounds relaxing. We too live in a very peaceful place. And lots of beautiful scenery. That is why we hang on.Even knowing a couple would buy it.Enjoy your day with Holligans. They are so cute.

Carol7 Prayers that your procedure today goes well & healing comes fast.

Carole Know you are busy too.May your day be a good one.You got in at the same time .Count me in for chicken n dumplings,my fav.Yum.

Hello!

Mary—I miss my summer tomatoes here from the garden. I like your stockings!

Jana—poor Stu! What a special young man he is! One of the grands here doesn’t eat gluten or dairy. Always hard to plan meals for her.

Carole—nice to have a night off from cooking! That casserole must have been a HUGE hit! That’s sweet of you to make it for your DB! Best wishes to him!

Becca—I’m with you on the chicken ‘n dumplings! HUGS to you!

Irish—thinking of you!!! We just do what we gotta do and somehow we receive the strength to do it. HUGS!!!

Yep, that Gulf goodie again this evening! ‘Nuff said, I’m sure.

Bon appétit!

Good Evening Everyone,
I am doing fine. I rested today and fell asleep a couple of times, other than that I shouldn't have any recovery time. Just have to go to Doctor next week for urinalysis.

Maryz - Mostly good fish restaurants also serve beef, so I think you will eat well tonight.

Chickie - Your house does sound like it is in a beautiful spot.

Carole - Glad for the Omaha steaks for your DB. He must have really enjoyed the breakfast casserole.

Becca - Thank you for the warm wishes. I am so glad the stent is gone and I can return to normal.

Irish - Think of you!

Think I will have eggs and toast this evening.

Have a great day everyone!
