Good morning!

We spent last night in Fort Stockton, Texas. It's a neat little RV park-nothing fancy, but it does have some trees. And they have cats roaming around the park and also a little café where mama cooks and the kids serve. This is our usual stop going to in from George town. We met another couple from Washington so we sat with them for dinner last night and had a good visit.

Today is our last day on the road-340 miles to go. We have a reservation in our campground for a site next to our good friends who have already invited us for chili and cornbread tonight and to watch the Seahawk game. The caveat is that we also have to cheer for the Dallas Cowboys in the next game. Not sure we can stay awake for two football games in a row after traveling 700 miles in two days, we may have to cheer for the Cowboys in our dreams!

So what is happening at your table tonight?

Good morning Mar
Hope your last travel day is a safe one.
I know your visit with Tina was awesome.
So you will be now at Georgetown?

Does your park have a clubhouse and activities?
Don't know yet what I am doing for dinner tonight. Hope to think of something simple.
Vel

Velda, yes we will be in Georgetown for the duration of our stay in Texas. It is a Corps of Engineers campground, not an RV park. We are on a lake and in the woods. Our campsite has a fire pit, picnic table and shelter. Each campsite is quite large and private. We have power and water at the site and every week or so we take the trailer to the dump station to empty the tanks. For $13 a night. We have several friends who winter there. Most late afternoons, someone has a campfire and people gather for happy hour. Sometimes it's a big deal with snacks and 20 folks. Other times it's for people and a glass of wine. I do sew a lot, but in our trailer.

We arrived here in Fl at my brothers yesterday. My nephew handed DB care over to me and told me not to break him. Lol. My DB is doing good and being a really good patient so far.

He wants roast beef for dinner tonigh, so that is what he will get along with Yorkshire pudding just like Mom taught me.

We will be taking him to the doctor on Monday to get staples out and Wed to the surgeon to see if he will let him return to S.C. for Christmas with us. If not, not sure what we will do. So we will wait to see what happens.

Hope everyone stays safe in all this snow and cold weather.

Good morning :)
Sorry I didn't set the table yesterday either. But I did have a few hours of me time which included sewing! :)
We had such a nice visit with Mary and Bill! And oh my goodness it was like Christmas with all the things they brought us! I can't decorate this year very much because of Preston but next year when I add Mary's stuff that she gave me to mine it'll be wowzer! !
Jazmyne spent the night so she's outside at the moment helping her Papa pick up pecans from our trees :) she'll come in in a little while and were going to bake cookies. Not sure what's for supper but I hope it's easy and quick clean up.
Carole so glad you made it safely and your brother is doing good.
I gotta scoot.
Tina

Good morning!

Mary - glad that you are down to the last leg of your journey. There are lots of campgrounds like that in California that are owned by ghe power company.

I have no idea for dinner - it is the last performance for Sarah and we are going and taking the boys. It will be a delight to watch Sarah conduct the orchestra and choir. As well as watch Ethan watch his mom do this . He is our little conductor and loves to lead the music as well.

Enjoy,
Jana

I’m so late here today! I didn’t make it to the table yesterday, either. Mom and I had pot stickers, spring rolls, egg drop soup, and vegetable soup from the Chinese restaurant. Mom had never had their vegetable soup, spring rolls or pot stickers. (She usually had egg rolls.) Well, she polished off two spring rolls and several pot stickers and loved their vegetable soup! I left the remains for a couple of lunches for her this week. It was a fun day! Last evening as I was thinking of what to fix for supper, DH jumped up and said “let’s go!” One of the guys a couple of miles south was having a seafood extravaganza… (Close your eyes, Mary!!!)… shrimp scampi, seafood gumbo and tons of other good stuff… seafood dips… YUM!

Mary—safe travels! I don’t know if I’d root for the Cowboys or not… might need to know who they are playing… I’m really hoping you don’t get back here to read of my feasting last evening… Your campground sounds great… the big lots and privacy!!!

Jana—we sang the Hallelujah Chorus in 8th grade concert. I’ll never forget it. I was 2nd soprano. You should surreptitiously get a video of Ethan conducting.

Tina—you have been sewing up a storm! So glad you enjoyed your visit with Mary and Bill! We didn’t get pecans this year. We found out what to do to keep the weevils away without killing bees and spraying next year and hopefully we will have a crop.

Becca—it’s too warm to snow here by the temperature, but it sure feels like it with 87% humidity!

Carole—glad you arrived safely! Sounds like you are in a wait-and-see mode. Best wishes!!!

Vel—it’s hard for me to figure out dinner early here. I’m always up for simple!

On that note… I have some smoked Florida amberjack that I’ll figure out something to make with that will be yummy. Not difficult for me, but DH… He’s more discerning with his tastes… LOL!!!

Bon appétit!
