Supper Club - Tuesday, December 6

Post by FarmChick » Tue Dec 06, 2016 4:29 am

Carol--thank you for setting the table yesterday. I realized about 10:00 p.m. that I forgot to check in. We definitely ate dinner however.

Irish--I was thinking about you yesterday. I had a UPS delivery, and he was still in short pants! I always have a laugh with him, and I told him about my friend in PA who told the seasons and knew spring was near when her UPS man broke out his shorts after winter. He said he was probably going to break out his long pants today... it's 24 here! He'd have goosebumps on his cute little knees for sure in those temperatures!

Jana--I bet your home is wonderful with your decorations. Is the train coming out? Pictures???

Dinner here tonight will be steak for DH (he had half last night), potato, green beans. I'm thinking I'll have some kind of light soup--miso maybe. He's been wanting popcorn later, so I'll save some supper allotment for popcorn afters.

I'm not into cooking until I get some sewing projects finished. I was at my machine most of yesterday, and I'm headed there now... The Hooligans are still sacked out after several barkapaloozas in the night. One thinks it hears something and roars out barking, then the others take turns roaring out as back-up. I'm sure there is nothing but some branches creaking in the wind, but they work the perimeters at full blast--just in case some poor armadillo, 'possum or bunny breached the yard. We just always hope it wasn't a skunk!!! I hate skunk baths in the middle of the night!!! They will be ready to go see Ava later. I just heard one of them give a sharp squeak in his sleep--must be happy dreams of the hunt!

Bon appétit!

Mary says hi to all! THey are in Yuma and having pizza with friends this evening. She said Carole is zipping along toward South Carolina.

Good Morning Everyone!
I need to go mail cards today. I mailed the package to my DH's brother yesterday and a few of the cards. I wrote a Christmas letter to put in the cards that are to be mailed today.

I cleaned the front windows this morning. Have I told you the neat trick my sister uses to clean windows. I used it on the inside of the windows, not the outside because my window is too high off the ground. She takes the steam mop off the handle and uses one of the attachments to clean windows. Wipe them with a soft cloth and they are done without any streaks!! I am delighted to have clean windows and if it rains I will clean them again.

Tonight's dinner will be the leftover Mustard Chicken. This time it will be potatoes and a vegetable and a small salad.

Chickie - Hope you get your sewing done.

Becca - You sound like you feel better with the permanent crown. Yeah!! Sorry you and DH are suffering from congestion, hope the clean air from the rain helps. Unfortunately, the air in the house is probably needs cleaning too! Soot from fires gets in everywhere! Here we can get soot from 50 miles away. It is awful!!

Have a great day everyone!
Carol

Good afternoon from chilly, damp, Sw. Pa....We're to have mostly light rain all day and then some of those white things might be flying around....Oh well, we don't have to go out, have plenty of potty paper, bread and milk....Life it good!

1st thing this morning, I had a call from a friend down in Naples, Florida and of course she just HAD to tell me, it was 77 when she got up this morning...I did tell her, I could make it 77 too if I turned up the furnace, lol....But, all is good down south, although they haven't had rain for 40 some days...Mother Nature needs to get with it and dole out those rain drops where it's needed....

Becca, sure hope things settle down at your household, especially in the breathing department...I don't think I would have been able to stay, just the hint of smoke in the air has me gasping...Jim used to burn a lot of our cardboard etc. and I always had to close the windows and of course would complain...Not until, a cute little neighbor said it bothered her did he stop, lol....MEN! Oh boy does that veggie soup sound good....I could have that every day and never get tired of it....

Chickie, So, you were checking out the UPS guys knees, huh???Holy Moly, shorts in 24 degree weather! Lately, our guys are all bundled up and I don't see any legs..How long until spring???

Sure am thinking about Mary and her travels...I hope she writes in a journal....I just love to read about her adventures, as I enjoy reading about everyone's travels...In a way, I do miss, our days when we would jump in the car and just go.. We didn't have a GPS and most times, didn't carry a map, just go and so many times, we'd be crossing into another state just for lunch....One thing I do regret was not getting that house in Florida years ago...Going down now, Jim would be too confused...But, I do have good memories......

Today is, do some minor uglies and then sew...Still haven't gotten the decoration out of the shed so we are lightless on our street...Oh well, maybe before Christmas!
For our dinner, it's going to be new food...I'm thinking "mac n cheese" filets and candied sweet potatoes or fresh cauliflower...Not sure if I'll bake anything or just pull out the box of graham crackers.........

Happy eating...................

A quick hello from Yuma where it is 73° and sunshiny. We are parked in another casino lot with other RVs. We did some errands which included a stop at one of my favorite quilt shops. They have a bench outside the door with a skeleton sitting on it, dresses up as a husband. LOL. Did a little bit of damage after sorting through their clearance fabrics. Tomorrow we will head east on interstate eight through Arizona, spending the night at a state park where we camp among the Saguaro cactuses. Picacho state park. So pretty there!

Miss you all, especially at suppertime. We took pizza to friends today and visited them for lunch. We have leftovers we will probably warm for a snack tonight.

Will check in again with y'all when I get a chance.
