SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Nov 28

Good Morning!
We are really closing in on December! I am seeing lights and trees everywhere now! I will miss cutting a big tree and putting it up this year, but will happily trade that for some sunshine and some Autumn-time! and we have a 3' fiberoptic tree we'll take with us. We are planning to leave here day after tomorrow, though we may delay until the next day. We still have lots to do and Wed is supposed to be a nasty weather day while Thurs will be dry and partly sunny.
CHICKIE - When your SIL asked 'where is Christmas dinner going to be?' you should have responded "YOUR HOUSE!" And then showed up early, put your feet up, and relaxed! Glad you and the Hooligans got in some fresh air and walking time! Refreshes the soul! As for Hospice, for my brother, they provided medicines and equipment, like the hospital bed. An aide came twice a week to help give him a bed bath, and the nurse dropped by once a week to check on him and had a mini-care conference with my SIL and any family who happened to be there. But other than that, all care was done by my SIL or family.
BECCA - we are so happy that your brother's comfort quilt arrived and is now in his possession! We were worried it had been stolen off his front porch. Hugs to him and to you. I hope your rain tomorrow happens and in a big way!
TINA - you and your brothers - make sure you are a united front! - may have to take the bull by the stubborn horns and give your folks a moving date. Or perhaps you could give them a Christmas gift of a few days vacation someplace and have the house moved while they are gone. I suspect if left to your mom it will never happen. It can be too overwhelming to older folks. Change is hard, especially when you don't feel well.
IRiSH - your house will be quiet by now. Here, it's a relief to finally have everyone gone. Not that we weren't more than happy to have them all here!! Even all the dogs! But after 3 months it's nice to finally be alone again. I wonder if your Terry could negotiate a better wage if he were to take the job. And how does cost of living compare? when Autumn left CA for TX, she took home $400 less a month, but was way ahead financially because the COL is so much cheaper in TX than in CA.
JANA - OK, it's tomorrow! Now let's hear - 'the rest of the story'. What happened in your kitchen??
Yesterday I finished the laundry and packed most of the clothes I am taking. Bill insists on packing his own, something that has often led to some serious wardrobe malfunctions - like no pants, or no coat, or no shoes. The list goes on. But enough about him! lol! I also cruised the pantries and got the trailer stocked with all the non-perishables. I went through my Christmas clothes (yes, I have two totes full of Christmas clothing - even undies!) and chose my favorites to take along. Today will be clean the fridge, bind the queen quilt we are taking along, and try stowing all the extra stuff we are hauling to autumn and to Tina. Thank goodness our new trailer has more storage for this kind of thing than the old trailer!
Supper tonite will probably be a scramble - I have extra white potatoes already cooked, bits of ham left, onion, peppers, and eggs. I will chop everything this morning and have it ready to plop into the frying pan tonite. And maybe some salad to go with - at least sliced tomatoes.
What's going on your plate tonite?
