Good Morning!

Happy Birthday, CHICKIE!! I hope you are getting to play in your sewing room all day long, no floors, and then supper out! What a nice celebration that would be! Will someone bake you a birthday cookie? You know, seems I was there once for your bd (or off by one day) and I baked you a big cookie. Not fancy, but big! lol! I am soo happy the gizmo is helping you! I will have to tell my friend who gave it to me. I've never used it because I never needed it. It's basically the same thing my massage therapist told me to do when when I had P.F. except there was no official gizmo. He suggested buying a hard rubber hobnail dog bone toy. Your guests may be pro chefs, but you know how good food that you don't have to cook tastes. And your food is good!
I love breakfast, too and especially for supper! YUM!

BECCA - Split pea soup is my favorite. But I don't like canned at all! HUGE difference! I make mine myself, adding onion, garlic, potato, celery, carrots, and ham or kielbasa. Let it simmer in crockpot most of the day. THAT'S good soup! Have you considered erring on the side of caution and go ahead and go to your DS's house anyway, on a day that your DH is being cooperative. It would get you both out of the smoke. Breathing that every day can't be good for you even if windows are shut. p.s. I love butter beans, too!

CAROL - it takes a long time to come back from being as sick as you were. Lots of rest. I've eaten pea soup at Andersons in Buelton and it was excellent!

TINA - thanks for the explanation on burritos vs enchiladas. That's probably the same thing my sis (also Tina) said, but took a second 'hearing' to make it stick. At least now I HOPE it sticks. You have been a good friend to Mary Rose. I know she is appreciating you! I mailed her a card yesterday.

Last night we went out for nachos and 'ritas. so good! Came home and had tapioca pudding my sister had made. Today they are spending the day in Renton, near Seattle, visiting their son. We should go along. Our sons live close to each other. But I'm looking forward to a day with just Bill and me. I plan to sew a little, maybe read a bit, maybe cross-stitch some. I got the house and laundry all caught up yesterday.

Supper tonite is going to be leftovers. I have chicken'n'rice in the fridge along with pea soup. and lots of salad fixings. and maybe I'll make some biscuits, using Chickie's recipe. (which everyone here thinks is MY recipe!) Happy Birthday, Chickie!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHICKIE.May it be special just like you.Sending many good wishes.

Hello Everyone,
Maryz Yes I have thought much of going & will if it stays like it has been.Today the air is clearer & we don't see the dense smoke like yesterday. We actually see some blue sky. They did catch another one here in Franklin but they saw another one.Dont know if they work tog or separate. The 2 big ones are the BIG problem. No homes have burned & no lives lost so far.So grateful for that.DHs breathing is about the same. Its never good due to COPD & asthma. We are not in the worst zone for air quality.

I promise To make some homemade soup one day.May like yours. Its the taste I couldn't take.

Carol Sure hope the recup is going as it should. That gets old fast but necessary to heal.

Tina I had saved Mary Rose address .Thanks for being her special friend.

Jana Praying you can get Stu an appt & he gets the help he needs.

Irish Hope that luncheon yesterday was a real treat for you.Have a peaceful day I hope.

We have lots in refrig Chicken salad,Potato soup. And dessert.I plan to make apple fritter bread.Happy eating to all. Becca

Good early afternoon from a very sunny but still cold, SW. Pa....Thank goodness for the sun or I'd be in bed with my electric blanket pulled up over my head....I am really a wimp when it comes to cold weather....

Mary, hope you get your "Bill and you" day...It's great to have family around but it's nice to have some alone time also....I'm like you, I could eat breakfast stuff for any meal....And I would love to sample our Chickie's cooking, maybe some day......

Chickie, a happy, happy Birthday, hope it's the "bestest" I sure hope someone is there who will bake you your own cookie or does DH have plans? Hope you enjoy the day......

Becca, just saw the news, again, about the fires....Just makes me sick that anyone could get a kick out of destroying other's property...Sure hope they are able to get them all under control and catch the "nuts" that have caused it....I can imagine how worried you must be with DH and his breathing.....

My day out yesterday was special...I didn't realize how much I missed just talking and listening to other people....The gal who came to stay with Jim was very young, probably in her early 30s, if that but she sure was nice...She even helped him rake up a bag full of leaves...What a blessing this organization has been....And then I came home to find a fellow installing the new seat for the tub so of course, Jim had to try it out....It made it a little easier but still hard so I'm really thinking about that walk in tub.....I told Jim we'd take a ride to Home Depot soon and check them out.....

Today is catch up on the laundry and hopefully, spend the rest of the day sewing....I've gotten lax with the quilt and really need to get with it....Terry called and told me he is having an MRI on his leg, doc thinks he has a torn minicus (now I know that spelled wrong)and already, he's worried about messing up his plans for coming up for Thanksgiving...But, some how, things always work out..BUT the good news, he has a job interview near here the day before Thanksgiving.....I keep telling him, good things happen to good people and I'm sure the right opportunity will come along....He is a good person who deserves to have something good happen.....

So, now for dinner, yikes! We did just have breakfast for dinner the other night so I don't think I'd better do that....Maybe I can tempt Jim into hot dogs and baked beans...Might even mix up a batch of cinnamon rolls...................

Happy eating............

Eagle Update: The nest in Ft. Myers is now on "egg watch"....The nursery is all ready (and so am I).......
At the nest up here, they have been bringing twigs and starting to work on this nest....We are usually about a month or so behind the Florida nest.......Happy eagle days are here!

Thank you so much! I’ve had a super day, and it gets better… no cooking tonight either and more leftovers so little cooking next week! Life is good!!!

I had a fun lunch with Mom, DD and DGD today. DD made me a pumpkin pie for my birthday cake. It’s our tradition. She also brought Chinese food from a neat little place over where she lives.

Yes, Mary, you did make ME a birthday cookie!!! The first one I’d ever had! I hope you had a day to yourself and with Bill—just doing what you want to do!!! You deserve a break today! (I’ve heard that before… LOL!)

Mom gave me her quilt she pieced for her little sister, and I’ll get started quilting it this week. She’d like it done yesterday. LOL!

I couldn’t believe how good my foot has been feeling since using the gizmo. I do it on both feet—preventive maintenance for the other foot! Too bad I couldn’t find a dog toy before now!

The hunters stopped by earlier and said we had cows in their deer corn… OOPS! So, we went and found a break in the fence where a branch had fallen on the wires. Those new cows were exploring… They want to have breakfast here tomorrow for their last day of this trip. They are going to pick up some things in town and help me cook. I think it will be a blast. They are so nice.

Irish—So glad you had a great day out! It’s so important for caregivers to have a break and interact with others and blow off some steam. You can always blow off steam with us if you can't get out, too!!!

And, life is so good here—the hunters want to go to the steak house in Thayer, so DS1 and family, we, and some more “natives” with the Florida hunters are leaving in a few for dinner. I’ll have more leftovers so not much cooking next week—just warming.

Becca—I made the apple fritter bread for DH, and he loved it! I felt it was less bad than fried fritters. The hunters liked it the day they had it, too.

It's going to be quiet here next week... laundry, cleaning house, leftovers, quilting mom's quilt... no hunters. I'll be making DGD a birthday cookie and delivering it to her on Friday when my DD is off for the afternoon.

Thank you all for being my great friends and celebrating my birthday with me!!! Love you all!
