Good Morning!
Happy Birthday, CHICKIE!! I hope you are getting to play in your sewing room all day long, no floors, and then supper out! What a nice celebration that would be! Will someone bake you a birthday cookie? You know, seems I was there once for your bd (or off by one day) and I baked you a big cookie. Not fancy, but big! lol! I am soo happy the gizmo is helping you! I will have to tell my friend who gave it to me. I've never used it because I never needed it. It's basically the same thing my massage therapist told me to do when when I had P.F. except there was no official gizmo. He suggested buying a hard rubber hobnail dog bone toy. Your guests may be pro chefs, but you know how good food that you don't have to cook tastes. And your food is good!
I love breakfast, too and especially for supper! YUM!
BECCA - Split pea soup is my favorite. But I don't like canned at all! HUGE difference! I make mine myself, adding onion, garlic, potato, celery, carrots, and ham or kielbasa. Let it simmer in crockpot most of the day. THAT'S good soup! Have you considered erring on the side of caution and go ahead and go to your DS's house anyway, on a day that your DH is being cooperative. It would get you both out of the smoke. Breathing that every day can't be good for you even if windows are shut. p.s. I love butter beans, too!
CAROL - it takes a long time to come back from being as sick as you were. Lots of rest. I've eaten pea soup at Andersons in Buelton and it was excellent!
TINA - thanks for the explanation on burritos vs enchiladas. That's probably the same thing my sis (also Tina) said, but took a second 'hearing' to make it stick. At least now I HOPE it sticks. You have been a good friend to Mary Rose. I know she is appreciating you! I mailed her a card yesterday.
Last night we went out for nachos and 'ritas. so good! Came home and had tapioca pudding my sister had made. Today they are spending the day in Renton, near Seattle, visiting their son. We should go along. Our sons live close to each other. But I'm looking forward to a day with just Bill and me. I plan to sew a little, maybe read a bit, maybe cross-stitch some. I got the house and laundry all caught up yesterday.
Supper tonite is going to be leftovers. I have chicken'n'rice in the fridge along with pea soup. and lots of salad fixings. and maybe I'll make some biscuits, using Chickie's recipe. (which everyone here thinks is MY recipe!) Happy Birthday, Chickie!!
