SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Nov 8th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Nov 08, 2016 2:49 am

Good morning!

having a nice, dry, 65* day today! The rains will be back tomorrow. sure would love to share them with Becca!

IRISH - I never thought of 'germs' per se, but I do have a designated toothbrush that I clean my rings with periodically. I might step up the pace . . Can you lock the door going from house to garage? Or just let Jim go for his walks, but walk with him? Though, how is your foot? Maybe walking isn't your best thing right now.

CHICKIE - I sure hope the gizmo works for you. I think our heron is only a visitor because there is no sign of a nest, or 'rookery'. Is a rookery the same thing as a nest?

BECCA - I am SOOO sorry about your dental appointment. I've had three crowns pried off in pieces and it isn't as much fun as one might think. I really hope this puts an end to your dental woes.

JANA - I sure hope this will fix Stu's hand. It's been so long now since his injury . . The good news is that he'll be home for Thanksgiving and hopefully for Christmas?

I haven't seen Jim since yesterday morning. His wife asked to be left alone with him so my sis and I honored her wishes. She doesn't call with updates so we'll go over again today. He seemed weaker yesterday.

My sis and I spent a long time in the Christmas Shop here. I got a new ornament for everyone in our family (kids and DGK's). I stole Judi's idea of giving an ornament to everyone and a gift card (or $$) Shopping done! then we went to Goodwill. I found a nightie with sewing machines all over it! so cute! also, a needlepoint frame with multiple length crossbars, and one set is large enough for my next big cross-stitch project! A $60 (at least!) frame set for only $6. This solved a big problem for me because I was going to have to either go buy the longer bars or else work without a frame - not a good option for a big project like this (Old world Santa and reindeer).

supper tonite will be baked chicken and a potato or rice. and salad. With sis and BIL staying with us, dinner planning - and cooking - has become a bigger issue than it usually is when it's just Bill and me. So is clean-up. Not sure why, since we three girls were all raised by the same mother, but neither of my sisters are much of 'helpers'. I did assign my sis a salad last night, the first thing she has done since they arrived. My other sister (already went home) simply sits and waits to be waited on. I love being a hostess, but after the first week of this, it gets old. Maybe I'm just getting old! and cranky!

I hope your supper doesn't make YOU cranky tonite!

Good morning everyone,Still smokes.
We had an incident here this morning. We live close to development. Our land joins. We used to have all kinds of delivery trucks come up here.We put up a private drive sign keep out.Didnt like it but didn't like the damage they did either. We have a sharp curve at mailbox & they get up here & are stuck.I look out & a truck pulling a cement mixer turning up our bank.So I go on porch yelling to avoid the cement being spilled on drive & truck turning over.Driver couldn't drive.I go out tell them how to turn truck around & to roll cement mixer by hand down to truck. He finally got it out of here. Was I relieved. We have had our mailbox took out 3 times & yard & bank torn up.The joys of being neighbors with a developme Sorry about the rant.

Maryz You Sure Know your way around a thrift store.I found 11/2 Yrs of pretty pink quilting fabric but nothing like you find.My DDIL was just like you.She found the deals
Prayers for all of your family.Especially Terry.
If you had 3 teeth in one wk you are stronger than I but you are younger too.

Saw on Facebook one of my friends from hi school lost her DH yesterday.Hes been sick for a long time.We were best friends in School. Will have to do something for her.

I am cooking a pot of pinto beans. And making cornbread. Also have some rice to heat .
Becca

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good (still) morning! I'm tired. We went to vote, then I came home and made brunch for DH and "the kids" (not the Hooligans)--the Florida kids. They really are fun. I still have to clean up the kitchen.

Dinner will be leftovers... I have some breakfast leftovers, and also some soup. Hopefully I can get by with serving that to DH.

I wish for everyone peace and quiet... and less excitement and incidents for Becca! We are the end of the dead end road and regularly have "lost parades" down our lane and around our driveway. It's kind of unsettling sometimes.

Good afternoon from warm, sunny, SW. Pa....Another gorgeous day.....

Mary, you are the "Queen of the Thrift shops" (or as my late DMIL, called them, "Dead Man's stores")...My DDIL, Cindy is quite a shopper and gets the best bargains...I need to get that on my list for my next outing....
We don't have a door going into out garage in the basement...You come down the steps, turn right, pass the work bench and into the garage...Turning left from the steps, is a door into the rest of the basement and the laundry room..I'm sure Terry or neighbor, Ted, can figure out something..And you never know, he might never do it again....I do feel bad, in the mornings, he likes to bring in the paper and now with the locks, he isn't able...You win some, you lose some, I guess....And the foot is pretty good, every once in awhile, I might step on it funny and of course it lets me know.....Darn, this getting old isn't fun, lol......

Did you see or feel that rush of wind, I think that might have been Jana...Probably headed for the bat cave.....

Becca, My heavens, bad things are happening...Sometimes, don't you wonder where or when these truck drivers learned how to drive...That is funny how you had to tell him how to "kind of" do his job...Just goes to show, we need more women in charge.....

And there's another rush of wind and I think it might have been Chickie.....She must be in a hurry to clean that kitchen......

And our day, now that's it half over, is going to be errand filled....We need and I do mean NEED cat food plus a long list of groceries, so both Walmart and Aldi is on the list...And I do mean to vote and I'm hoping the lines aren't too long...I had asked Jim is he thought he was able to vote and he said, he really didn't think so, besides, he didn't like either one! I really should have gotten him an absentee ballot but just didn't think in time....And with all our running, I'm thinking and hoping the car still knows how to stop for take out....I did make swiss steak and the works last night so we do have left overs for a back up if the car is forgetful like it's owner......

The neighbors came over last night and completely raked all the leaves in the yard so I also need to make a few more pies...They have 4 kids so I'm thinking food is the way to go......

Happy eating.................

No hot questions today, my brain is tired....But, who would have thought, rings etc.
