Here it is Nov 1st. Can you believe it? Are your preparing for Thanksgiving? Did you start writing down things you are thankful for? Try to add to your list today. Don't only think of people but of events that have happened this past year, blessings the Lord has provided, and even hardships you have overcome.
God has provided us with so much. Can you think of your past Thanksgiving's and recall a moment in time that will forever hold that holiday event a special place in your heart.
Mine would be the first Thanksgiving after we were married. I recall being so sick and could barely tolerate eating; thinking I had the flu I went to the doctor the next week only to find out I was pregnant. A happy diagnosis but a major surprise:)
Sit back and recall the blessings God has given you! Don't let the upcoming holiday add stress but let it add happiness and thoughts of love.
Hugs, prayers, and God Bless
Izzy

Izzy Thank you for This verse. So much to be thankful for at this Home. With a large family with 15 Healthy G Grands we are so blessed.
We have so many wonderful Thanksgiving memories bec.they have always come here.
My Kitchen is small & one Thanksgiving I went into the dining room for a serving dish. When I got back there were 17 people in my Kitchen all laughing & enjoying each other. That was a blessing & one I will always cherish.
My list will be quite long.Even with dealing with DHs health problems we are so blessed.Just to know I am a Child of the King makes my Heart sing praises.Blessings to all Becca

Kitchens in my family have always been the hub. Both grandma's had kitchen tables in their kitchen so people could visit and grandma could cook.
My grandmothers cousin Pearl was there one Thanksgiving. her mind had faded a bit, they were the hippie cousins. We all sat down for Thanksgiving dinner and Pearl said. "Couldn't we just for once sing a Christmas Carol." so we sang Silent night or Jingle Bells, but now, almost every Thanksgiving my dad says, couldn't we just once sing a Christmas Carol.
The smells in my grandmothers houses on holidays were wonderful. And now I try to mimic those smells in my house. I make one grandmothers dressing, the other grandmothers green beans with bacon and tomatoes,
I love that holiday's are family.

I knew I needed to think on the Thanksgiving that was so memorable. In 1976 My Mom & Dad went to Lancaster PA on vacation to visit the Amish Cuntry. While there my Dad got very ill.Went to Hospital & was diagnosed with Spinal meningitis. They did Neurosurgery on him that lasted 10 Hrs.This was Thanksgiving day.The next day we had Dinner with the Amish family Mom had made friends with in Hospital.Their little child also had spinal meningitis. We had much to be thankful for as Dad made it thru surgery & lived 21 more years.
Just one of our many Thanksgivings to remember.
I too make lots of my Mothers & Grandmothers recipes. Becca

I love tradition! That is what makes a family! My family all love the dinner and time we spend together, but what they are really waitung and wanting is for the turkey broth to get cooking, so mom, me, will make noodles. That tradition has been passed to me from my MIL, from her MIL, and i have passed it forward to my children.
I too make recipes from both sides of our family, and if i try to introduce a new onem i can't leave out anything from the past.
It is so wonderful to hear my children and grandchildren pray, as they bless the food and give thanks at meal times.
