SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Oct 30th
Good Morning!
Can you believe it's already Oct 30th? This year has flown by faster than any year yet! and they all fly! Family has arrived! House and trailer are full! And one more sister should show up in another 2-3 days but they are bringing their RV. So I don't have to fix a bed for them. My middle brother lives close enough so he doesn't have to stay with us, but can drive to G.H. to visit. Love having my family. Hate the reason they are here but we still find joy being together.
IRISH - what a poignant anniversary you are having. I didn't realize you lost your Chriss on your anniversary. You have my hugs for the day, my sweet friend! I am always in awe with the grace and humor you show in helping Jim through life.
JANA - cats love sleeping with little kids. Maybe we adults move around too much.
BECCA - it must be difficult for you, too, to go anywhere with all the medical stuff that goes along with your DH. You and Irish are such an inspiration to the rest of us.
CAROLE with an e - what fun! A pizza/baseball party! Less fun - doing laundry for "four" people! haha! I think that same ghost couple lives at our house, dirtying up clothes and dishes.
VELDA - do you cook much on the road or eat out? I usually make something ahead and freeze it to thaw quickly on travel days. Or I use a Rice a Roni, add sliced kielbasa and peas. My standard go-to-first-night-on-the-road meal.
CHICKIE - the gizmo is enroute, but I can't remember what day it's supposed to arrive. Bill mailed it and it didn't go priority. My dr gave me an exercise to do, though I don't think it helped much. But he said to stand on a step and let your heels hang over the step. (hang on to the railing!). Then drop your heels and hold for few seconds. Repeat several times. Stretches those tendons. Maybe it will help you.
Turkey dinner was pretty good last night. We have lots left over so Bill has requested hot turkey sandwiches for tonite. I think I'll mix up the leftover mashed potatoes like for twice-baked potatoes. Since I don't have the skins anymore but will dish them up into individual little casserole dishes. Or muffin cups. Are these called 'timbales'? anyway, add a fruit salad and we should be happy eaters.
I hope your supper makes you happy tonite!

Good morning!
Mary - that will be a houseful! Memories in the making and all the stories. You should hide a tape recorder and save all those stories for the future generations.
Dinner will be a enchilada soup recipe i found on Pinterest. Goes in the crockpot, so will be ready after church.
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone, sunny & in 70s.Hoping the bugs soon find a new Home.
Maryz Sounds like the motel is full.Know it is sad but still enjoy your time with family. All the stories & laughs are memories to cherish.it is a chore for DH to go anywhere due to all his medical needs. But I try to take him if he wants to get out.Know it could be a lot worse.Hugs to you & all your family.
Irish Sure sad to hear that your Anniversary falls on same day as DSs passing. But sure you make the best of what it is.So admire your spirit.Sure you couldn't leave Jim if he runs away.Prayers for a good day for both of you.
Lady Carol wrote me.She is ok just very busy.Said she will try to get back soon.
DH wanted burger & fries. That I can handle.I have chicken breast & will steam broccollini for me.Peeled apples to make a pie. Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Oct 30th
Good afternoon from, what started out to be a gorgeous, warm, sunny day, has now become a dreary, very rainy, ugly day in SW. Pa....But, it's the kind of day you want to pick up your book and snuggle under a quilt......
Mary, As they say, no room at the Inn but oh my the memories even if it's a sad reason..Your 1 sister sounds like a snail, bringing her home with her.....I like Jana's idea of that hidden tape recorder...One year for Christmas, years ago when the cam corders were 1st coming out, I got one, put it in a huge, decorated box and put it in the corner, next to the TV, with a hole cut in the front of the box to be able to take pictures....After everyone was done opening gifts, I then turned on the TV and we had a rerun of Christmas morning...That was back in the cave days but the kids sure had fun with it....
Becca, Glad to hear you heard from our Lady Carol...Isn't she something? Really do miss her posts and hope she comes back soon...I keep hoping Jim will suggest something he'd like to eat...It's really hard trying to figure out what he might like...The doctor did tell me, if I suggest something and he says, no, just wait about 5 minutes and ask again....When we shopped yesterday, I got some really nice apples for pie, now to get it made, lol...wishing for a good, quiet day for you also, my friend....
Not too much happening....Jim said he wasn't feeling well and has gone back to bed...That's after he slept for 12 hours, so I'll have to keep an eye on him....Last night was fun with Terry and his new friend...Of course he got teased a lot...I always have my "to do list" ready when he comes but he showed up with a huge cast on his left hand/wrist and wasn't able to take care of my list...He and the boys ride mountain bikes and he's usually the one who comes home with booboos and this time he really did it up right...He just got the cast last week after an orthopedic man because it was still hurting after 4 weeks...The 1st doc didn't see 2 breaks on the xrays??? I told him, kids will do anything to get out of a little work but he should soon realize, at 51, he's no longer a kid!.....But, it was still a very enjoyable evening, at times, a little sad because Jim didn't know who he was...My heart breaks for the kids when that happens, but I think, more and more they are understanding what's happening to their Dad.....
So, for our dinner, left over spaghetti and a couple meatballs...I had made a lemon dessert and there's a tiny piece left for afters.....
Happy eating.............Hope your weekend is a good one!

Hi everyone. Here I am coming in late again!! Tonight is left over soup. And boy is that delicious. I love potato soup.
Yes, Mary, we always have something to fix quick for travel. After you get settled in, not always is there restaurants close by. I have several quick things to choose from. I like your idea of the rice-a-roni. Never tried adding the polish sausages to it and a vegi. I will have to try that. Do you pick beef flavored or Chicken flavor to start with?
I can only imagine the joy of having family together. Yes, it is sad for the reason, but family together and sharing memories. That sounds wonderful and comforting.
Tomorrow will be a busy, busy day here and Tuesday we begin our travels. I will not try to get to the table for the remainder of the travel days. But you can all bet, we will be eating just the same and I will be thinking of all of you. I can catch up again after we get settled in.
I will be able to read the posts from my phone on the road, but I hate trying to type a message on the phone key pad.
Hugs from me to YOU.
