Good Morning!
The rain has stopped! For the moment, anyway. We'll have a showery week for sure, though. Our day temps are mostly in the mid-50's now. And soon we'll be happy to see that! So how small are your feet? My DIL is a 5DD. She calls her feet Paddles! I wear a 6, but 7's feel so good that I buy 8's and take them back and exchange them for 9's. ;o)
IRISH - You and your Jim kept popping into my mind all day long yesterday. I always worry when I can't stop thinking about a certain person/people. I hope things are as OK as they can be at your house. That was so sweet how Jim cared for the deer that had been hit. Says a lot about him. and you!
CHICKIE - I've never heard of amberjack, but if I had to guess, I would say it was a type of tuna because there are other -jack tunas. But maybe they are some kind of lake fish? I mailed you the foot thing today. Along with a booklet that goes with it about foot problems. I don't know if it will help you, but it can't hurt!
TINA - November's lotto is a really pretty block. I can only imagine an entire quilt made from those gorgeous rich colors!
CAROLE with an E - I love/hate electronics. And when notices pop up on my screens I'm ever sure if I should do it or not. Because Bill doesn't always want certain things added. and he is, after all, the boss of our electronics. (I had to let him be the boss of something after he retired because he wanted to be the boss of ME!! So he got electronics and his underwear drawer.)
JANA - I hope your thumb is on the mend. I have to ask: yous said Kate and Gracie are at work. What is work that Gracie gets to go, too? And don't you just love Gracie's name?!!
BECCA - Is your hubby able to get around and into showers by himself or do you have to help him? I have two left-handed siblings and they both hold their pencils weird. I'm surprised they don't get carpal tunnel!
I'm not sure about supper. The first wave of out of state family is starting to roll in on Saturday (younger sis and BIL) and everyone is staying with us. So I'm going to have to get serious about menus, shopping, feeding everyone, not to mention finding a place for everyone to sleep. Other than our trailer we have no other beds, no fold out couches. Meals will be simple, of the crockpot variety. so my mind isn't on tonite's supper as much as all the suppers for the upcoming weeks! So tonite just might be poached eggs on toast and sliced tomatoes. Whew! Took me a lot of chatter to work that out in my mind!
I hope your supper is easier!

We woke up to heavy, dense and drippy fog—it’s BEAUTIFUL!!! I always feel like I’m back in San Francisco. I just love it—as long as I don’t have to drive and can sit here with a cup of coffee and enjoy it.
Irish—I’ve been doing all kinds of foot exercises, using ice and using IcyHot. Some days I just want to get crutches. Look up Amberjack… it swims. It sounds like a fall drink, doesn’t it… that would be yummy, too! I totally agree about people intentionally running over things… the turtles, snakes sunning themselves (we have very few poisonous here), squirrels… the poor deer this time of year!!! I get teary when I see a dog or cat or deer or coyote or… well about any creature…
Carole—at least I used the pretty name for the banned food… I tried to disguise it a little bit… LOL!
I didn’t walk yesterday. I started to but couldn’t make it down the lane let alone a mile plus running around with Ava. So, we took the cart (UTV).
Ha, ha! Love the feet description. My DD has skis—long, narrow 9 or 10. I have the littlest feet in the family—used to be 7, then 7.5, and now 8. I have a few 8.5, but they are DD’s cast offs—pretty shoes she WANTED to be able to wear. 8s are my favorite size.
You are right, Amberjack is a dense, steaky type of tuna-similar. It was really good, and there are leftovers tonight. It’s an Atlantic/Gulf/Florida marine animal. I look forward to trying your foot offering!!! I’m looking for relief. I never had foot problems, but I wonder if all those years in high heels… funny it comes on 10 years after I quit wearing them…
I’m the electronics boss here—except for the TV remote.
Mary—I know your mind is on all of your company, and of course your DB. Just keep it simple and comforting. Remember, don’t sweat the small stuff… in the scheme, food is small stuff. Hugs to you, My Dear!
Jana—glad your thumb is better. I threw my sink strainer in the compost pile and didn’t find it until after I bought another one. Not quite the slicing story, but still things do hide…
Dinner tonight… re-runs from last night. I’d like f**h tacos, but that wouldn’t go with DH, so it will be more conventional… at least on his plate!
Enjoy!

Good morning
Mary, the crock pot is a gals best friend at times. (((((Hugs)))))
Chickie, so sorry about your foot, have you gone to a Dr about it? It might be a bone spur.
Our supper was yummy last night and we have enough leftovers for tonight
I wish you all would send some rain to me

There is a person here in town selling baby tortoises. ... I'd love to have one, I'd prefer a female they only weigh about 90-100 pounds when full grown, the males can weigh 200! I love the turtles I have, they fascinate me

Oh Mary, My heart is just breaking for your family. It is so hard to lose a loved one, and even harder to watch them suffer. Glad your family is so close. Hugs my dear friend.
Never had the steak last night, so it is on the table for tonight. Went out for a hamburger for lunch and decided we weren't hungry at dinner time.
Got all my electronics back on line. When Ken retired he also needed to be the boss of something. So I appointed him Head of Pooper Scooping. It keeps him busy and gives him something to think about. He is always saying "if only I could think of something to do with this stuff. I could sell it and become a millionaire ." Ha
Today, we are going for our flu shot. My white count is low and I have to stop putting it off.
Yesterday, I did some Christmas sewing and started going through the STUFF in my sewing room. That will continue today. Need to get organized in there. My son and his family will be arriving for Thanksgiving. Already decided we will take the guest suite and give him the master. Too many things my babies could get into and get hurt. Got to keep those little girls safe.
Well off I go to get some coffee.

Good afternoon from chilly, dreary, soggy, SW. Pa...Can you tell, it's not a good outside day????But, there's lots to do inside, for sure......
Mary, my heart also breaks for you...I do have an idea of what you and the family are going through and I'm so glad they are getting together now...And how good that Jim was sitting in the sun and having his DS with him....
Oh my, us popping in your head, that's scary, lol...But, you picked a good day...As I've said, if I ever figure out what goes on in Jim's head, it would be a miracle...All morning, yesterday, he needed the keys to the car, he HAD to take someone somewhere and they were sitting in the car in the garage...Every couple minutes, he'd have to run to the garage and check...Then last night, he started, he wanted to go home and this went on for 3 hours...It was late and I just couldn't bring myself to get in the car and go for a ride..Now today, so far, we're OK....We do have another appointment with the VA in the morning but not sure what they'll be able to tell us...
Chickie, You rebel, you! Boy, would my fur babies love to live at your house...Around here they just get that occasional can of tuna and they go crazy just at the sound of the can opener, lol...
You know, it's funny about the feet...I remember my Mom telling me, our doctor, way back in the cave days, told her, don't put those feet in shoes, let them go barefoot and I did and still love it..And I was never one to buy expensive shoes, give me the KMart slip on sneakers that used to cost, $1.98, lol...Now, the problems I have are all my own dumb fault...I only wear a size 5 and have a hard time finding shoes so maybe that's why I go barefoot, lol......But, I sure hope you do get relief from what Mary is sending.....
Becca, So many times during the day, I think about you and your DH...And then when you posted about DH falling in the shower, Oh my, we know all about that...Just this morning, I called the VA for a seat for the tub...Just not fair that these guys should suffer so....And I am so with you about the snakes, that's one thing I really don't mind being gone...We mostly just have the black snakes that are good for the garden but they sure do scare me if I happen to see any....
And speaking of showers, Jim just said, he'd like to get his bath...Not sure what dinner might be but I do have a little left over chicken and just might make a pot pie...Remember me saying a gal friend was coming down to pick up her Halloween costume that I was working on? Well, she came down and when I went to give her the fabric for her sash, I couldn't find it...It was only 6 inches of red velvet and I know I had it earlier but it's no where in the house or at least no where I can see it...So, tomorrow, after the doctor appointment, we will stop for another 6 inch piece and I'm stopping directly at her house on the way home.....(and for sure, you know I'll find the missing piece later).....
Oh well, time for tub duty.....
Prayers to all....
Happy eating.................

I posted yesterday but my message went to never, never land. LOL.
Tonight we will grab a quick sandwich out on the way to dancing.
Wish I could stay and visit. This WiFi at the campground has been driving us nuts.
I will try to visit more tomorrow.

Good afternoon!
Dinner is past for some of you and I am still trying to decide on what I will fix here. I am leaning towards chicken, stuffing and gravy with a veggie and cranberry sauce. Humm, sounds a little like Thanksgiving dinner - I love Thanksgiving! Well, Christmas more!
I did too much in cleaning the uglies around here and reopened my cut on the thumb. Back in the bandaid it goes!
The cave is coming along very nicely. I can see the light at the other end of the tunnel and it is not a train! I can start to work on some of the projects that are piled high and deep in here. You do know that is what PHD stands for. I earned mine a very long time ago! LOL Rolled all my extra crochet thread up into balls and gave them a new home in a cabinet down here. Found a ton of batting scraps that I have been saving, so they will be cut up and used in my rag flannel Christmas blanket I am making - started last year, so it will be done this year.
Michael and Ethan finished my light box and it is wonderful! Just the right amount of light. He built it from scratch and used a florescent light fixture for the light source and a piece of plexiglass that he spray painted with a frost as not to cause glare. Even has a on and off switch, not just a plug to turn it on.
Enjoy!
Jana
Oh, I have gunboats! Size 9.5 wide widths. If you wear large size shoes, we refer to them by Navy Ships - My boys wear battleships, size 13! Gracie's are PT boats, as she is still little! LOL
