SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Oct 21st

Good Morning,
I am back from Oregon! It was nice to have a bit of time away and see our good friends, Bob & Betsy. But I couldn't wait to be home again to see Jim. He declined noticeably in the four days we were gone. He is losing more than a pound a day. He is home and on Hospice now. I was there yesterday for the first visit with the care coordinator who came to the house. This is going to be a rough row to hoe, but we have a strong family. We will get through this together.
BECCA - I saw where you found a buyer for the house you aren't ready to sell yet! Nice to know that if/when you do decide it's time to move, there is someone who is interested. Your place always sounds so pretty and peaceful.
CHICKIE - and you got to go out to eat! Good to be you! And (I hope!) it saved you from eating anything blackballed on our menu list here!
TINA - is the old house all demolished? How is Frankie feeling? Will he be able to move in with his tractor this weekend to start prepping to move the mobile? Will be so nice to get this all done and your parents finally moved.
CAROLE - I saw you had a bad reaction to your infusion med. So sorry to hear that. Our friend, Lois, had severe RA, diagnosed at age 19. She survived on gold shots for 25 years until she reacted to them. Then the early RA drugs in trials. Then aspirin until she was taking up to 18 a day and she almost bled to death internally. Finally all she took was Tylenol. But, she lived in Hawaii for a year when she was about 20 yrs old and that moist warm climate was the best of all. Just sayin' - maybe Ken should take you to Hawaii - for a medicinal trial, of course. ;o)
CAROL - You may get yourself hooked on Jane. That's what happened to me! Took me four years to complete. I will admit though, to you and to no one else, that the last few blocks - those elongated triangles in the borders - I finally just gave up and appliqued them! Some of them were really tough!! But I love LOVE my quilt and so glad I did it! And I will never do another one!
JANA - What's the latest report on the kids' new house? Have they started framing it yet? Did you get all your cleaning/rearranging done in the Batt Cave?
IRISH - the national weather map last night showed you will be getting some interesting weather today. Sorry about that. We had POURING rain all the way home yesterday from Yakima. It was so dark that it looked like nighttime! I always love hurtling down the freeway at 60 mph with all the semi's, rain and spray hitting the windshield. The heavy construction we encountered added another layer of interest to our commute. Was never so happy to arrive home alive!
Last night I made a pizza. We might have leftovers tonite as we only ate half of it. Though I suspect Bill will get into it for lunch. So I will probably make either a pot of chili or soup. Soup will require a run to the store. But Bill needs some cold medicine anyway so I guess I'm going to the store no matter what.
What's the plan at your house?
