Good Morning!

Yesterday was a long day - 1-1/4 hour vet appointment with a second drop-by appt later in the day to take Mick back so they could show me how to they infuse fluids under the skin. I may have to do that today if his drinking doesn't pick up. They did an X-ray to rule out bowel obstruction (clear!) and gave him a shot for nausea, one for diarrhea, and one of a strong antibx. We came home with the same three meds, all oral. and Rx canned food. He perked up almost immediately and wanted his supper last night - 2 Tbsp of the food. He was anxious to go see his parents and laid on the bed with Jim, all snuggled up for an hour. This morning he is more like his old self. We're going to walk in a bit so i'll see how he does. We still don't know what the problem was, as this much cost $360. More labs would have brought the bill up to $700 and since we were spending money not our own, we held off doing anything else in hopes he would improve.

Oh, and Jim's doing pretty good, too. ;o)

VELDA - good luck and prayers going with your Willy today at the vet's! There is a show on TV called Extreme RV's and last week they had the same rig that Lyn bought and showed it's construction from start to finish. Interesting!

JANA - oh, your poor Michael! I wonder what is in the other med that his body doesn't like! We like M.C. pot pies, too. Bill especially likes them! Jim used to do the bulldozing for homes, and then come back to do the backfilling. Austin & Austin Bulldozing. Owned and operated by Jim and my dad for almost 40 years.

IRISH - there is a chain of massage 'parlors' called Massage Envy. We see them around the country. Maybe there is one close to you? My neck and back are so much better today . . . Hope you get some quality time with your sewing machine today. Would it be possible to either make a little sitting area in your sewing room for Jim or to move your machine downstairs to wherever he is?

BECCA - I'm so sorry to hear of your DH's excessive pain. I hope today is a better day for him. What other restrictions do you have? No lifting I would bet, which makes it hard to help him get around.

CHICKIE - Love your sucessful shopping spree at the pet shelter! We may have to go there when my 18 yr old Riley passes on. Not sure I can live with just one cat. And Roxy is not a lap cat. I need one to snuggle. Glad to know I'm not the only one who has to separate all the clothes on the line!

TINA - I really would hate that sleep study! I can't sleep without my book. sometimes I wake up and find it in bed with me!

CAROLE - thanks for worrying with me about Mick! Enjoy your cross-stitching and your maragaritas! But maybe not together . . .

Bill has requested spaghetti and meatballs for tonite. Just happen to have everything on hand. Lucky Bill!

Oh, and by the way, I saw Kristin Chenowith (singer and actress) interviewed on TV yesterday. She said she HATED all fish. and the host asked her, "Not even catfish?" And she looked at him and said, "What part of 'hate all fish!' did you not get?? haha!! That's what people always ask me! "not even salmon? or shrimp? or???" No! ALL Seafood!! So if it's good enough for Kristin, it's good enough for me.

Just got laundry completed.What a chore the way it has to be done.

Maryz It is no lifting over 5 lbs.No bending,pulling .Ease into house work gradually.Yesterday brought on really bad back issues so today trying to take it easier.
Wear sunglasses inside too.At least today is last day for drops five times a day.But it could be a lot worse so I'm grateful.
I too was a fanatic over hanging clothes.getting them out of dryer is a mess but always glad they are clean.

On ,the subject of seafood I have never been a fan but my family loves it all.I do love some types of banned food that I grew up with.

Maryz Do hope the Doggie improves for all of you.Know it is hard on him to be away from home.Vets are very costly.

Tina Hoping you get the reports you need on sleep test.Sounds miserable.

Irish So happy Jim has improved some.Takes a load off I know.

Chickie Those little holligans have so much fun.Glad they found a good home.

Mary so glad Mick is doing better! It's always so scary because they can't tell us what the problem is. Glad Jim is doing ok too.
I hate to say it but I'm sick again, ugh. I have a cold. Don't feel bad for me cause I'm so mad about this, it's ridiculous!
I'm making something with hamburger tonight.

Good late morning from a very chilly but sunny SW. Pa...The weather people said we might get a frost last night so, close to midnight, I'm out in my PJs and robe covering and moving pots of flowers...You don't think I'd do it earlier like any normal person, do you?

Mary, so glad to hear Mick is doing better...Just too bad it cost $$$ but as you said, could have been much worse...I was kind of surprised, when we took Babygirl last week, it was less than $100 and she even had her nails done, lol.....And also so happy to hear Jim is doing pretty good....He really is a fighter, isn't he?

Tina, Gosh darn, a cold! I'm thinking you need a week on a sunny, warm beach, with a couple fruity drinks and you'll be back to your old self...Of course, you'd need a friend to watch over you...I have the sun screen and flip flops packed, just pick a beach.....

Becca, I agree with Tina, laundry does require some bending over, right???? You don't want me to come down there, do you! Behave! Maybe you should join Tina and I at the beach.....

Well, I just had a gal from "Comfort Keepers" here and I think I've died and gone to heaven....This organization also works with the VA and will come and sit with Jim and practically do anything I ask...Along with helping Jim, they will do light house work, laundry, start meals, mop floors etc. The gal who runs the group has to be one of the nicest gals and she very, very Irish....We really hit it off.....So, I got in touch with my lunch gals and told them to pick a day.....I think, leaving Jim, will take some getting used to but we'll see......

And now, Jim and I are going to run some errands...Today is neighbor, Donna's birthday and I want to get her some Snowballs, which means I'll come home with some goodies for us, also.....

For our dinner, if we get back in time, I'm going to use some of the left over roast and make some veggie soup.....

Girls I didn't bend ,I sat on a chair in front of Washer &. Used the grabber,That little gizmo is a life saver.DH finished It off.I Will not do anything to jeopardize my sight.

Maryz Last Wed I could see some of the eye chart.Be fore I couldn't even see the big letter.It takes 3 to 6 months for it to heal .You must be patient. Becca

Hi ladies

Hey can you believe it, I made it back in here before it is time to cook and put the dinner on the table. LOL

Willy looked so sad to have to leave him in the vet's arms. But he will do OK, I'm sure. I don't think this little growth will prove to be serious. I am thinking positive. I will report the findings later.

I sure hope Jim's boy will pull through this and it will just turn out to be a virus that the meds will cure. Keep our fingers crossed.

As for our meal today, well we will be eating left over potato soup for lunch, and maybe a turkey burger on the grill for this evening.

We don't know if we will get Willy home this afternoon or not. They will give us a call after he is out of surgery and in recovery.

Well, you all have a happy day. I am going to work on my beading project for the next few days or so. It will be another special item to add to my "elf's" gift box. Hope she likes it.

Good afternoon!

Yesterday I walked down to Ava’s with the Hooligans, and I’ve been paying for it with intense foot issues. I could hardly walk last night and this morning. Fortunately, I’m feeling better but will be rolling my foot and icing while at my sewing machine. I had to do the floors first this morning. We don’t “have” to go see Ava today, since Meagan is arriving home in a little bit, and I can rest my foot. I walked yesterday because DH had the UTV, and Tinker Bell was soaking wet after a visit to the pond, and I didn’t want her in my truck. It’s so pretty not to be outside! I picked a basket of tomatoes yesterday—some still on the green side, but some red ones too—mostly cherry tomatoes. I had a bowl for brunch and a piece of naan toasted.

Mary—poor Mick! So glad you got him some meds and he’s perking up. However would you find the skin under all that hair!!! I’m sure Jim perked up when Mick did. If I did shelter shopping again, I’d probably not bring three babies home at the same time, although they were BEST of friends for so many years together. I sure miss them. I have three hooligans now who picked us, but I still have a place in my heart for all my past pets…

I need to check out Lyn’s rig. Her old one was amazing.

Irish—I remember when women weren’t supposed to let their unmentionables show on the lines and were hung between the sheets and other things. So funny how panties on a line could be immodest. How wonderful to have angels to help you and give you a day out!!! That’s how I take care of my plants in case of frost, too. One year I covered my flowers with some blankets only to find that Tinker Bell made a bed on the soft mounds and fleece blanket. They would have had a better chance in the frost! Oh well. She figured out the doggy door not too long after that.

Becca—good to see you here and doing well. I agree that it’s important to protect our sight!

Oh, Tina!!! If it’s not one thing, it’s another… Sniff!!!

Dinner tonight… something left in the fridge… one burger, a little chicken casserole… salad… apple “thing” (it was o.k.—nothing amazing)… cauliflower… I’ll figure out something. I’m thinking tomorrow might be a quiche.
