SUPPER CLUB - Monday, October 10th

Good morning! No rain this morning, but it's kind of overcast and dank. But I did get in my walk - abouta mile. I usually do closer to two miles, but didn't want to tire out Mick, who is worse. We have a call in to the vet and waiting for the office to get back to us.

I spent most of my day yesterday in my sewing room. Worked a few measurement bugs out of my current project and now I think I'm on my way! We'll see how today goes. I have a massage appointment at 11:00 and hopefully we have a vet appt sometime today, too. Our carpets can't take much more of this.

CAROLE with an E - You are such a tease! Isn't eggplant parm and veggie lasagna enough? MUST you serve banned dishes? Now you have my cats salivating!

TINA - I've never had a sleep study before. On TV, the patient sleeps in a strange room, wires attached to their head, while technicians observe through a big window. Is it really like that? When do you get your results?

IRISH - I did the same type of things when my kids were little. My son's job was to take the garbage can out to the road. He kept forgetting and the trash piled up. One day when he got home from school he found the garbage can in his room - in his bed. My DD kept dissing her chore of dishes. So one day she came home to find dirty dishes in her bed. And when I kept finding their clean/folded clothes tossed back into the hamper was when they started doing their own laundry.

I saw a news story where an eagle in FL, I hope not one of 'our' eagles, was caught in a grill of a car. A passing motorist saw the eagle moving his head and called 911. They saved the eagle and named him Matthew. I don't think he was hurt too badly, but perhaps they took him to the sanctuary where Ozzie and Harriet went to check him out . . thought of you.

CHICKIE - did my laundry yesterday and used the dryer for all of it. Because we don't get a lot of clothesline weather here, more's the pity. I enjoy hanging clothes out. I have to make sure it's all organized - teeshirts all together, jammies, sox, etc. his and hers. I'm a little anal about that. is that strange, do you think?

BECCA - it was good to see you in the sew-in and happy that you are back driving again! You are making great strides! How is your DH handling your 'down-time'?

JANA - what's going on in your world today? How's the house coming?

CAROL without an E - I bet there's something yummy going on your table tonite and I bet it's not banned!!

As for us - our meatloaf yesterday morphed into taco's. Better. So today, the menu will be tacotaters. the leftover taco fixings on top of baked potatoes. Brilliant, no?

I hope you have a brilliant supper tonite, too!

Mary you're very close. ... they mark your head and face up while they measure this way and that and then they get this goopy stuff and put a blob and attach wires with probe things. After they get you all hooked up and attach all your wires to a thing in the wall then the mask goes on. They tell you they will monitor you through a camera and show you where it is LOL I try to ignore it :) I liked to never got the goop out this time, I had to literally soak my head in the tub and use my finger nails and wash my hair twice. I get the results back on the 19th :)

I have chicken thawing for supper. .... not sure yet what I'll make with it

Me a tease???? Never!!!!! Tonight we are meeting up with three more couple at our favorite Mexican restraunt . On Mondays it is 99 cent margaritas. Fun will be had by all. So no cooking for me ,hmmmm just thought of something. I should get the egg plant parm ready for tomorrow . Yup, that is what I will do, and tomorrow all I have to do is pop it in the oven.

I am really worried about Mic. This sounds very serious. Please let me know what the vet says.

I am off to do some cross stitching. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning,

Had to make a run to the grocery store for food and jello for Michael. He is having a severe reaction to one of his meds. We had this problem years ago and they changed it to another, but thought they could go back to this one, nope, back to the expensive one, that barely worked.

Dinner tonight is courtesy of Marie Callendar. Pot Pies. Kate loves them and since Michael isn't eating, we can have them. They are banned by Michael.

The kids house has the foundation all poured and the builder is back filling the dirt around the foundation. We expect they will pour the inside garage floor this week. Framing will start probably next week. The kids are getting excired as they can now see progress.

Mary - sorry to hear of Mick's trouble. Not being home is hard on him too.

Tina - no wsy could i dlerp eith people watching me! Hope good results come back from the study.

Off to put some stuff for Aaron in the dryer,

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from sunny but darn right chilly, SW. Pa....As much as I really do like Fall, I hate this chilly weather and just might have to hibernate if it gets much colder.....One thing for sure, the flannel sheets will be on the bed in a day or so and the electric blanket will follow soon after.......

Mary, Poor Mick, did Bill take him with him yesterday? If only they could talk...Hope the vet calls soon.... I'm looking for someone in my area that will do a good massage but so far, all I've found are those "pretty girls, up the steps, in the back room" kind of thing...Amazing what they advertise now, lol.....I hadn't heard about the eagle but will check with my "sources"...I'm pretty sure, "our" eagles were out of Matthew's path, did have rain but winds weren't too bad...Our couple have been really working hard to get the nest in order and I kept hoping the storm wouldn't knock it down but it survived...It is amazing to watch them work together, placing and weaving the twigs etc.

Chickie, I love, love hanging clothes outside and maybe just a little like Mary...I have certain ways to hang things, Anal??? I probably told this story before but Jim's late DS used to wear Lollypop brand panties and had all and I mean all the colors...This was before dryers and Jim's Mom would try to hide them between other things when she hung out the clothes. And at Christmas, his DS always got the newest color and had to hold them up for everyone to see....

Becca, I haven't been to the Sew In but will check it out...It sounds like you're doing well, thank goodness....We've missed you, girl friend....

Not much happening in this household today, just doing some light uglies...But, I might get upstairs and visit with the sewing machine....Since it's gotten chilly, Jim doesn't seem to want to "wander" so I'm thinking it might be safe for me to be upstairs....Tomorrow, we have a woman from an agency coming who will evaluate his needs and I'll probably be getting someone to come and sit at the house if I need to keep an appointment...We also have dental appointments tomorrow for cleanings and now sure how that's going to go..Which reminds me, I need to be pre-medicated and need to call for the meds....Be easier just to cancel the appointment, lol

As for our dinner, left over roast, mashed potatoes, gravy and mixed veggies...I really am going to try those apple/pie cookies that I had seen on Tina's FB page, for afters......

Happy eating........................

Good afternoon. I’ve just made some apple squares for dessert tonight. I used fresh apples instead of a can of pie filling. It was an easy recipe. Will let you know if it passes DH’s taste test later. This is a lovely day of 70s. Tomorrow will be 80s… still pretty, but warm. I had another hummer drop by this morning.

Mary—I’m the same way about the laundry on the line. Everything is hung together—sorted as I hang it up... Makes it so much easier to take down and fold and place it in baskets—his and hers. DH thinks I’m anal about it. We must be sisters from another mother. I think, however, it’s the only thing I’m organized with. So sad!!! I hate using the dryer because everything comes out jumbled up and has to be sorted then folded. I know, silly of me.

Oh—what a story about Matthew the Eagle!!! I hope he makes a full recovery and tells the other eagles to watch out for moving monsters.

I would eat tacotaters! My late DH would NOT eat any kind of casseroles or mixed food. He liked separate little islands of “naked” food. I guess I was raised poor with budget-stretching casseroles and mixups of leftovers.

Jana—Mom loves the Marie Callender pot pies. They are so handy if we can’t take her dinner; she can bake them in her toaster oven. The house goes so fast once they start; then it seems to slow with the finishing process.

Tina—I’d need to be knocked out with a sleeping pill, too, unless they set me in front of a TV set.

Carole—Mexican food with margaritas is a perfect meal! That’s also how I ended up with two kittens and a puppy at the shelter. My DD and girlfriend went out for lunch on our day off—margaritas and Mexican food. Then DD and I dropped in at the shelter on our way home. I wanted to bring home all the animals but settled on three. LOL! BFFs for a long time, and I never regretted it for an instant.

Irish and Becca—I know you’re here somewhere… hope everything is well with you both!

Dinner tonight in addition to the apple squares are hamburgers with sweet potato “chips” or fries.

I’m off to take Hooligans to see Ava. Have a super afternoon!

so sorry about Mick. Poor guy must really be missing your brother!!'
Of course, it could be a "bug", too. Keep us all posted.
