SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Oct 9th
Good Morning!
We had a wet day here yesterday with 25mph winds. A little sympathy weather for the Southeast, I think. All that yard raking I did last week - poof!! Oh well, such is life. Yard work is like laundry - as soon as you finish it, you have to start in again. And speaking of laundry - I think today is the day. Sigh. We have a window right above our hamper. Sometimes I think I should just toss the dirties out the window so they are out of sight, out of mind! Once, when my now 41-yr-old son, Mike was about 6, that's how he cleaned his room - just threw everything out the window! He was so proud! Didn't realize the window was in the front yard, right next to the front door. And so visible! haha! His sisters still tease him about that.
But, back to the present:
Our guest dog, Mick, still isn't right. Bill is going to my brother's place today to put battery tenders on his tractor and the motorhome. The dogs will go along and maybe a visit at his real home will perk him up. If he doesn't improve soon, we'll have to take him to his doctor. He and Scottie have the same doctor, which is nice.
IRISH - no, we didn't go to the movies. Bill decided to wait until Tuesday, Senior Matinee Day when we can go for $6. To be honest, I'd rather see the animated films, too, but I don't think I'd get Bill to go to those. And our DGSs are now 19 and 23 so they're not going with me either! lol!
CAROLE with an E - you are putting catfood on your list of grey foods? Well, I guess we never specified people food, did we! lol! Your pork tenderloin sounds good, though . .
CHICKIE - your supper last night sounded yum! I'd opt for the dumplings, too. I love dumplings so I don't dare make them too often!
JANA - Congrats on Logan's baptism! I always felt such a relief when my little ones were baptized. They were each about 4 weeks old. Wishing your Giants good luck!! So like your busy Sarah to offer her time to help raise funds for such a worthy cause!
CAROL without an E - where is your cat going on vacation? >^+^< and how do you make your fast hash? Everyone has their own version of such a dish and I'm curious about yours.
TINA - is today the last day of your 'vacation'? Did you get all your Tina-stuff done that you wanted to do?
I think tonite we'll be having meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn, and salad. We've cleaned the freezer and fridge of leftovers and it's time for brand new food. Bill will be smiling, I think.
I hope your supper leaves you smiling tonite!

Hmmm I now have food in the freezer....so I think we will have stuffed pork chops, potatoes cut up w/onion and red peppers and baked, and veggie of some type. Maybe corn, my favorite.
After church I will make a big pot of spaghetti sauce in preparation of my niec's visit.
Her husband does not eat meat only the BANNED FOOD...so not to worry MaryZ they will not get directions to your house. So I am making eggplant parm vegetable lasagna. The rest is BANNED FOOD. Lol. Just the thought will drive you nuts MaryZ lol.
Well off to the showers.
Love to all,
Carole with an e

Good morning, I'm still a little groggy from the sleeping pill they gave me at my sleep study last night. They called Friday and said they had an opening and if I wouldn't mind doing it Saturday so that's where I was last night. It took me2 scrubbings of my head to get all the goock out when I got home. Then we feel asleep in our recliners for a couple of hours, Frankie said he didn't sleep very good without me here.
Mary, my me week didn't work out quite the way I had planned but I did enjoy the time off. I'm hoping today to work on more Sue's and Sam's.... As soon as the fog lifts from my brain.
Carole, sounds like your company will be getting spoiled;)
I'm not sure what's for supper tonight, whatever it is it needs to be easy.

Good afternoon from chilly. sometimes sunny, sometimes dreary, not too pleasant, but warm inside, SW. Pa...We are nice and toasty inside and now I'm thinking of putting those flannel sheets on the bed.....
Mary, sorry Mick isn't feeling better and even though he's treated as royalty, he could be home sick...I'm beginning to think yard work is really just a waste of time...Eventually, those leaves will blow over to the neighbor's yard...Now if I could just get someone to take care of the flower beds....I really do enjoy the animated movies and when we'd go, the kids are all old..In fact, Dan and his girl took me to see that Dinosaur movie not too long ago...There are some things my kids will never grow out of...Your son throwing things out the window brought back memories of me doing the same thing...Chris and Kevin shared a bedroom and I threatened and then finally, just opened the window and tossed...Didn't take them long to get my message....And the same thing happened if the kids left their shoes lay close to the basement door...They didn't like having to go downstairs to retrieve them.....Funny things we used to do and would give anything to go back and relive those days.....
Carole, with an e, you really are going to be spoiling your company....Can I make a reservation at your B&B? Enjoy your day.....
Tina, I didn't know they gave sleeping pills when you did the sleep study...Is this normal or are you a special "customer"? I wonder if I could get someone to study my dreams but then they'd know how weird I really am.....Enjoy your day with Sues and Sams.......
Don't think we're doing anything exciting today...Have the Steeler game on but I think someone might be watching with his eyes closed....I talked to Terry in N.Carolina and he said they just had drizzle yesterday and no wind...Been wondering how Becca faired in her part of the state......Very scary down there.....
Being chilly today, I stuck a roast in the oven and will make mashed potatoes, gravy and a veggie....I'm hoping Jim has an appetite.....
Happy eating................

Good afternoon! I had another hummer this morning and one yesterday afternoon after I posted. They don’t stay long—slurp and flit…
Mary—so sorry Mick is still not doing well. He might be missing his dad, even though you go visit. Poor little fella!
Tina—I didn’t know they gave sleeping pills for the study. I know you will find something yummy for dinner. I’m looking forward to seeing more Sues and Sams.
Carole—your dinner sounds wonderful!!! It’s driving me nuts because I LOVE it all!!!
I opted for the biscuits last night because my crock pot mixture was pretty soupy. Well, it was so, so, so good!!! I ate too much, but there is more for tonight, so that’s our menu. I’m doing laundry today. We are cooler with a chilly wind, and I’ve just put some of the laundry in the dryer.
Enjoy!

LOL Irish I'm not special..... Well I am but we'll keep that our secret, I don't want those men in white jackets coming after me;) They've always given me a sleeping pill and I've had 4 studies.... It maybe because I have insomnia too? I forgot to tell you earlier we went and saw Sully, we really liked the movie and would watch it again. I hope my review helps you and doesn't disappoint you.
Chickie as soon as I can shake this falling asleep thing I'll be with Sue and Sam.
