Good rainy morning!
Sounds like a lot of us are having 'weather' the last few days. As long as the power stays on, I count rainy days as sewing days. I suppose the argument could be made that they can also be laundry day, or mopping days, or closet cleaning days. But where's the fun in that??
Our little guest dog is having a bout of "digestive difficulties". We've had to give him several butt baths, a butt haircut, and now we're doing spot cleaning on our new rugs. Poor guy. Not sure what the problem is. He is eating his same food, though not much of it right now. We have good water, and he's never outside without one of us with him. And Scottie (for once!) is fine. Makes life interesting. Thank goodness for our little Green Machine carpet cleaner. And Bill.
Now the computer. I've whined about Windows 10 several times here and I had a Microsoft pop-up this morning, asking if I would recommend it to a friend. Bill says "tell 'em how you feel!". So I did. One of my complaints was that pages I'm working on just disappear! and darned if just as I finished typing "I HATE IT", it went *POOF*! and then a 40-minute update started on my computer. Grrrr..... I guess they didn't want to hear what I had to say and shut me down.
CAROLE - haha! loosen up? Hey, I eat grey food! Unless it's fish, liver, or beaver. At least I did the other night. We had tater tots that had been in freezer for 6-8 weeks. They looked grey/gray. Other than that, is there gray food??
IRISH - I'm with you - if a hurricane came my way, I'd be headed the opposite direction! At least you get notice with hurricanes. Tornadoes are usually a surprise. My DDIL's parents live in FL, but are up in PA at the moment so they missed all the excitement. Where does Terry live in NC? Your Clancy sounds like a corker! We had a Clancy, too. A dog who would eat, and re-eat anything and everything. We loved him, but sometimes it was a struggle.
CHICKIE - your poor little straggling hummers. I just want to come pick them up and drive them all to the Mexican border! And haha!! I know YOU don't eat rodents. It's your hanger-on that finds such things tasty. What a good sport you are to cook these odd things for him. My mom hated using her good cast iron fry pans to cook fish for Daddy. she always soaked them in vinegar afterward at least 24 hours!
My potato soup turned out pretty good. Bill went back for seconds. I ran out of milk, so I finished up the liquid with a cup of beer. And it was pretty tasty.
Tonite - I never did make my sausage & beans over rice, so that may be on the plate tonite. Or a scramble. We have a high egg count in the fridge right now because my nephew sent us a dozen from his chickens when my sis visited him last week. As usual, I'll give Bill his options and let him decide what sounds good to him.
What sounds good to you tonite? Reservations, perhaps?
