SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Oct 6

Good Morning!
Hoping everyone in Matthew's path has either evac'd or is battened down.
So good to know Scottie has fans and that now he has a list of wanna be foster parents! And you all better pray for our safety because for now, Scottie comes with his cousin, Mick! lol!
CAROLE with an E - How about your DD and family in SC? Are they close to the coast? And are you expecting company that you had to put your sewing machines away to make a guest room? We are fortunate that we can have our trailer in our back yard right outside the door. That is our 'guest cottage' and people really like having their own 'digs'. And I can leave my sewing room intact.
CAROL without an E - ooh, do you get much harvest from your two 30-ft avocadoes? Can you preserve them in any way? If not, I guess you could send us all some - you know - to help you out. we're here to help. ;o)
VELDA - Only folks I know who have a good luck day fishing, and then go home and eat turkey burgers! Yay for you!!
IRISH - I have to say, my cats may not miss Scottie as much as you would think they would . . But he would miss them. My sister is a major crazy cat lady (dare I add, "too", to that statement?) and years ago her favorite cat was Sinbad, pure black. So she carpeted her house in cranberry colored carpet to show off Sinbad. Big mistake! Now she has all tannish colored cats and she got a tweedy beige carpet. Much better! So happy to hear Jim is having good days since his 'spa' weekend.
JANA - We have about 100 homes going up within 1/2 mile of our house, most are closer. (we used to be surrounded by woods, deer, and bears! no more!) They are in all stages of construction from land-clearing to finished. I've picked out a few to watch that are just where your kids house is - foundations poured. So I can keep track. How was the drill last night?
CHICKIE - I didn't know there were two 'squadrons' of monarchs. and how do they band them? So tiny and delicate! I'm not sure we'll ever be eating any stew at your house. Sounds like ingredients could be 'iffy'. Doyal will eat beaver and squirrel but you doubt he'll touch ravioli?? lol!!
TINA - what's the latest word on your parents move?
BECCA - we haven't forgotten you and hope you will soon be able to come back to the table, at least to say 'hi'!
We took Scottie into the care facility last night with Mick. Mick is so excited, wiggles and whines and just can't wait to get to his parents. Takes him a long time to settle down. Scot just strolls calmly through the hallway, sniffing everyone and letting all the people pet him. (lots of interesting smells in a nursing home if you're a dog!). Then he quietly laid at our feet. He acted like the old dog of the two, but it's really the other way around.
Today - not sure what we'll be doing. Sewing comes to mind. ;o) But now CAROLE with an E got me thinking maybe the master bedroom should get some attention. Thanks, Carole! Not!!
Supper will be new food. Tthe leftovers are gone. But we have all the makings for burgers and fries, so I'm thinking we'll be getting the grill out. Happily for the grill-master, it's not supposed to be a rainy day today.
Hope your supper doesn't get rained out!
