Good Morning!

Hoping everyone in Matthew's path has either evac'd or is battened down.

So good to know Scottie has fans and that now he has a list of wanna be foster parents! And you all better pray for our safety because for now, Scottie comes with his cousin, Mick! lol!

CAROLE with an E - How about your DD and family in SC? Are they close to the coast? And are you expecting company that you had to put your sewing machines away to make a guest room? We are fortunate that we can have our trailer in our back yard right outside the door. That is our 'guest cottage' and people really like having their own 'digs'. And I can leave my sewing room intact.

CAROL without an E - ooh, do you get much harvest from your two 30-ft avocadoes? Can you preserve them in any way? If not, I guess you could send us all some - you know - to help you out. we're here to help. ;o)

VELDA - Only folks I know who have a good luck day fishing, and then go home and eat turkey burgers! Yay for you!!

IRISH - I have to say, my cats may not miss Scottie as much as you would think they would . . But he would miss them. My sister is a major crazy cat lady (dare I add, "too", to that statement?) and years ago her favorite cat was Sinbad, pure black. So she carpeted her house in cranberry colored carpet to show off Sinbad. Big mistake! Now she has all tannish colored cats and she got a tweedy beige carpet. Much better! So happy to hear Jim is having good days since his 'spa' weekend.

JANA - We have about 100 homes going up within 1/2 mile of our house, most are closer. (we used to be surrounded by woods, deer, and bears! no more!) They are in all stages of construction from land-clearing to finished. I've picked out a few to watch that are just where your kids house is - foundations poured. So I can keep track. How was the drill last night?

CHICKIE - I didn't know there were two 'squadrons' of monarchs. and how do they band them? So tiny and delicate! I'm not sure we'll ever be eating any stew at your house. Sounds like ingredients could be 'iffy'. Doyal will eat beaver and squirrel but you doubt he'll touch ravioli?? lol!!

TINA - what's the latest word on your parents move?

BECCA - we haven't forgotten you and hope you will soon be able to come back to the table, at least to say 'hi'!

We took Scottie into the care facility last night with Mick. Mick is so excited, wiggles and whines and just can't wait to get to his parents. Takes him a long time to settle down. Scot just strolls calmly through the hallway, sniffing everyone and letting all the people pet him. (lots of interesting smells in a nursing home if you're a dog!). Then he quietly laid at our feet. He acted like the old dog of the two, but it's really the other way around.

Today - not sure what we'll be doing. Sewing comes to mind. ;o) But now CAROLE with an E got me thinking maybe the master bedroom should get some attention. Thanks, Carole! Not!!

Supper will be new food. Tthe leftovers are gone. But we have all the makings for burgers and fries, so I'm thinking we'll be getting the grill out. Happily for the grill-master, it's not supposed to be a rainy day today.

Hope your supper doesn't get rained out!

I am back!!!! Tonight we will be having a pork tenderloin on the grill. Along with it we will be gracing our table with a potatoe do some kind, and of course a veggie. Now that we have that decided I will get to the good stuff. Lol

DD is inland and other than some rain, think she and the kids will be fine. It is my DB that I am worried about.

OMG Mary, you are joining me cleaning the master huh? Wow you can be persuaded to do anything. Hmm maybe we can get you to love seafood and liver. Who knows if my cleaning the master can get you out of the sewing room to your master.....there is always hope for Mac and cheese and beaver lol. Chickie there is still hope!!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

Carole with an e

Good morning from another sunny, gorgeous, pleasant day in Sw. Pa....I'm trying my best to bottle up this weather for when that nasty white stuff hits......

Mary, I'm sure I would love your "crazy cat sister" and I can see matching the cats...But, it's kind of hard with our's, 1 is gray/white and the other is black...Guess I should have wood floors, right? Scottie, Mick, 2 cats, I could have a regular zoo....
You should have been with us this morning...We took Babygirl to the Vet because she was due for her allergy shot and a check up and we were surrounded by dogs, 2 BIG dogs, 3 little ones and 1 cat that could have been Baby's twin...Of course the dogs didn't like each other and the littlest one of the bunch made the most noise...Our Vet is the nicest guy, so gentle...And while we were there, she even had her nails done...After that, she'll probably sleep until tomorrow, lol.....

Carol with an e, I did finally see why your wrist/hand was hurting...My heavens, a shot into the bone, I'd be bedfast.....I used to get shots in my hip and I just cringe at the thought of it...But, if it does the job, I guess you put up with the shot...I guess this sounds silly but does living where you do, help? I think, you'd be asking for miracles to get Mary to like those banned foods, lol.....

Chickie, I think I'd be with Mary when it comes to eating stew at your house, lol....I grew up on a farm and had a hard time eating beef, still do...And my Dad and some of my boys were hunters but there was no way I could eat the venison.....We did have a neighbor that had ground hog and said it was delish.....Give me a salad or veggies and I'd be very happy.....

We now are going to run some errands....I figured I was dressed in my "run around" clothes so why waste it.....But, I think Jim deserves a ride, not just to the Vets....

For our dinner, left overs and if I get time, I will bake that pie....

Happy eating..

And speaking of Becca, I sure do miss her and hope all if going OK for her....By chance, does anyone have her address.......

Good morning :) sitting here in the waiting room waiting for my ultrasound. We're getting an estimate to have someone tear down the house and clear it away so it's done by a professional. Price may dictate that Frankie and Kevin do it. Electricity was supposed to be upgraded Monday but as of Tuesday that hadn't happened. After the house is gone Frankie will take his tractor over and clear everything and then the septic has to be upgraded but the house has to be gone and land cleared off first. I'm going all that will be done before the end of this month so next month we can actually move them.
I'm fasting so all food sounds good to me except liver and beaver, yuck. I how to make soup for supper.
Tina
Still waiting and my appointment was 20 minutes ago, ugh.....

Good afternoon! I’m late, but you will be happy to know I have been behaving in my sewing room and not rebelling with food choices! We had over 5” of rain accompanied by lots of thunder and lightning. Poor Tinker Bell. I didn’t get a lot of sleep as I was holding her paw to calm her terrors. Our pond is full and so pretty. I just wish the leak in the dam could be plugged (already tried numerous things and spent bunches to no avail… it is what it is—a rock vein that seeps) so it would stay up like this.

I had one hummer this morning in all the storms. She sat on the back (porch) side of the feeder out of the rain and looked like she was really trying to gain her strength to get on the wind again.

The “bands” on the monarchs are little stickers with a number and a phone number. There is a website to go to check and see if your numbers have been found at the final destination or if anyone found and turned in a number. It was quite interesting.

Listen, if you come to my house and I make stew… it will be things that I will eat, so you can eat it too. I promise… no liver or fish… Doyal did have a few ravioli last night, but I had a lot.

Becca—welcome back!!! So glad you are doing well! How nice to have your meals prepared for you—what a lovely daughter!!!

Tina—Isn’t that just ridiculous how they make us wait for medical appointments! It’s criminal!!! Sounds like a lot of work on the building site.

Irish—I’m still not crazy about beef or pork… I grew up with chicken and egg dishes when we moved to Kansas. Grandma “grew” the chickens and eggs, so that was plentiful. We usually had her fried chicken on Sunday, but once in a great while we had pot roast using chuck roast. As I recall, we didn’t have much hamburger or fish. Grandpa didn’t fish much. When we lived in California, we had a lot of seafood as it was cheap there. We also had lots of Italian food, since that’s the neighborhood and there were several Italian markets. I disguise ground venison in chili with LOTS of chili powder. I don’t eat the steaks.

Carole—wonder if we can really persuade Mary… LOL!!!

Dinner tonight will be brown rice, red beans and turkey sausage. I will probably fix something green to go with. I hope there is a ripe tomato. I’ve really chowed down on my cherry tomatoes… they are starting to produce less and less.

Enjoy!
