SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Oct 5th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Oct 05, 2016 4:06 am

Good Morning!

Today WAS going to be our wedding day - 25 yrs ago. Until we looked at the calendar, both went into a panic, and put it off until Feb. But the day didn't go to waste. Elizabeth Taylor married her last husband on this day, 25 years ago - the young construction guy. Now aren't you glad you asked? Oh wait - you DID ask didn't you??

TINA - I remember your Sam & Sue's on black. I was just wondering if you are keeping them separate from the ISBS's we did here or if you will be combining them in one big quilt. You had a lot of good ideas for supper yesterday - enough to last the week! lol! Besides Taco Day it was also World Animal Day. I gave out extra treats to celebrate.

JANA - well having 3 of your 4 so close to you is so nice. I have 3 and one lives in Texas and the other two are an hour away - in opposite directions! I haven't had all my kids together at the same time in 5 years when Autumn flew up to surprise me for my 60th birthday. (and I guess I just gave away my age there, didn't I . .)

CHICKIE - I would love to have an avocado tree, and it might even grow here. My problem is we travel a lot and plants can be problematic for travelers. I love them, but it's always difficult to find someone to care for them while we are gone. (notice how I'm not mentioning your liver thing? Gaacckkk!!)

IRISH - sounds like the weekend was just what both you and Jim needed! And aren't those medicinal drinks grand?? If they can't fix what ails you, they can fix it so you don't care! and I've got you on Scottie's list! Along with TINA. You two can work out a custody agreement . . And you'll want to know just how good his little black, hairy self looks on a white couch . .

CAROL - I bet an avocado tree would grow in YOUR backyard!

CAROL with an E - Ouchies on your hand! It probably hurts to type. I think you should eat out tonite. Tell Ken Nurse Mary prescribed it.

I'm not sure what the weather is going to be today. Rain? I'll sew something inside. No rain? Guess I'll rake something outside.

My sis is back home now in Colorado. It was good to have her here (most of the time) and we've invited them to come back for Christmas. Not sure if they will, but the invite is there. She wants to see Jim again. They would bring their trailer, dog, and cats probably.

Supper will be a repeat of last night - baked chicken, cheesy rice, and salad. We were gone so much yesterday I never got around to cleaning the freezer, so I think that will be on my agenda today, too, no matter what the weather!

Have you worked out your supper plan yet?

I have washed my hands and am at the table waiting for y'all . Tonight we are having hamburger soup from the crock pot. Think King Ken will run to the store to pick up French bread to go along with it,

Wait just a minute....I want Scottie!!!!!! TIna has enough animals, Irish has enough on her plate, (shhhh she has started drinking). Soooo in my humble opinion I am the best one to raise Scottie if someone is needed. Besides Luke needs a sibling. BUT I will let them visit with Scottie and Luke anytime.

I will not let you ban liver and onions. I like it also if it is done well. What would you call it beaver. Soon we will have to make a secret list of banned food to fool you what we are eating. NO WAY!!!! Lol

Off to SIT here watching my hand heal. Ken has decided I can not work on the master today, he thinks I will make my hand worse. Not. Sure I can do hand work. All sewing machines are put away because the sewing room has become the guest room. Oh well, can't just sit here...what to do, what to do

E less Carol will be here soon I am sure.

Hi to everyone at the table. We are having turkey burgers on the grill. Maybe a salad and chips to go with.

Last night I was in a really lazy mood and couldn't decide what I wanted to fix for dinner. Dear sweet hubby offered to take me to our favorite pizza place. That was great!!

Then we had left overs for lunch today. My girlfriend here at the campground taught me to put my leftover pizza in my non stick fry pan with either foil on top or a light lid. Heat up on medium heat until the cheese begins to soften and melt again. Oh, yummmmmm! The crust remains crispy and the flavor is just as good as last night. It was great!!!

I'm not sure just how many banned foods we have going here. I hope I never offend anyone. I know about the "water" source foods. My DH and I went out in the pontoon this morning, but no fear, we only catch and release. Had a great fun day today. Hope it will be just as good tomorrow. We only have about 4 more days before we take the pontoon out and clean it up for winter storage.

Boy our time is getting short. Hope you all are having nice fall weather where you are.

Good early afternoon from another sunny, gorgeous day in SW. Pa....

Mary, just to let you know, my couch is flowered, not white so Mr. Scott will fit in purrrrfectly (no matter what Carol with an e says)....Around here, you learn to wear clothes that matches the furkids.....I also agree, I think the weekend did wonders for the both of us...He has been doing more around the house, (maybe not right but he's trying) and he's eating, which I love...The only bad thing, I might have to learn how to use the stove all over, lol...And more and more, he remembers who I am and calls me "Hon"...It's really good to have him home...I know not to expect miracles with this but I can hope and pray it continues for awhile...

Carol with an e, what did you do to your hand??? I've gone back and tried to see but must have missed it somewhere (maybe while I was drinking, lol)....And of course, you have to listen to King Ken or Nurse Mary, you shouldn't be cooking...But, if I was closer, I sure would take you up on your offer on the soup...And you do know, Mr. Scott will come with a couple of cats so I'm thinking he should come here...

Chickie, Years ago, I was anemic and I sure didn't crave "that stuff", lol....We all know you are a rebel but you really are! But, we love you any how and don't want you to change...But, you're in good company with Carol with an e.......

Well, I'm off to play with the washer and that's about it...We are really being lazy today and it's a good feeling.....

For our dinner, I'm going to make meat loaf and a veggie...We did have potatoes last night and there is a smidgen so Jim can have that and the veggie is for me....Just might bake a pie but laziness might take over and the pie will wait until tomorrow....

Happy eating..................

Good afternoon,

So nice not to be included with the rebels! LOL! Even though i am one!

Dinner was punted to tonight. The kids got a email from the builder's rep that the foundation was poured! Whoo hoo! They went to see and then out to celebrate. So i fixed some spring rolls and ramen noodles here for us.

I will be watching Gracie tonight. Kate has volunteered to play victim in a terrorist attack drill. Aaron would be too, but he has to work a little later on the train.

Sarah is coming in a few minutes to paint some Chtistmas decorations she just bought us.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon! We had 0.7” of rain last night along with some thunder and lightning… not the severe storms or tornadoes the weather folks predicted. A little more rain would have been nice, but glad no tornadoes.

I ended up not making dinner last night… forgot what day it was again, and we went to the Audubon meeting—on the way salad (me) and burger and shake (him) at Braum’s. The program last night was on monarch butterflies, and the speaker “banded” (really a sticker with a number and a phone number) several butterflies and let the kids in the audience set them free for their journey to Mexico. Did you know that the monarchs east of the Rockies go to Mexico, and the ones west of the Rockies go to southern California and some to Baja. There are two separate populations.

Mary—not mention my liver… ha, ha! Actually, I don’t crave it like I did. I haven’t had any in ages, but now that you mention it… We are in Zone 6 for growing things, and a severe winter can get to 15 below zero or even more. One winter about 5 years ago, it was 23 below. I doubt avocados would like that! They like Zones 9-10 although patio ones will go cooler. It’s too difficult to bring them in for winter.

Jana—hope all goes well with the “drill” tonight! Have fun with Gracie!

Irish—I wear locker-room gray so that the gray, black and white dog hairs just blend in. It’s difficult to wear black or white. Maybe you, Carole and I can get together and have a rebel party one of these nights! We could invite you-know-who to be nice, but she would probably decline.

Vel—that’s a great way to heat pizza. A cast iron skillet with foil on top also works. Get it hot and throw the pizza on it. I’ve also used my grill pan. I also like my pizza stone and the oven if I have a lot to re heat. I saw one lone humming bird this morning. She drank and flew.

Carole—I’ll be there for dinner! Don’t laugh, but DH dispatched a beaver from the pond, and our house contractor smoked it for a party. He didn’t tell anyone what it was, and every smidgen was eaten with relish. Isn’t that funny! I don’t eat rabbit, beaver or squirrel. I have fixed rabbit and squirrel for DH. He really likes rabbit. Aaak! I agree, let your hand heal.

Dinner tonight… there’s a steak in the fridge that needs grilled in my grill pan for DH. I also have some ravioli. I think I may make “fried” (baked) ravioli with a marinara dipping sauce… probably for me. I could make an Alfredo dipping sauce and see if DH would eat them. Salad for a side. I made some apple fritter bread for DH for brunch yesterday, and there is some left for his “afters” this evening.

Enjoy!
