Good Morning!

Today is my half-birthday! Yay for me! I even got a card from my older sister! lol! Filled with newspaper comics she knew I'd like. I don't get the paper any more and she knows I miss the funnies.

Yesterday was 3 hours of visiting with my SIL, and then we had to go to their house to finish up the project and it was 3 hours there! I haven't spent that much time with her in the last 25 years altogether! So happy we have quilting in common! But it was funny - at the end of the day I looked at Bill and his brother (Mike) standing next to each other and they looked like twins, even though Bill looks like their mom and Mike looks like their dad. They just happened to be dressed almost identically in baggy jeans and filthy sweatshirts and bright smiles.

CHICKIE - I bet your quilt is beautiful! And you are gaining proficiency in a new sewing skill! Your beautiful penmanship would make awesome quilting! Have you seen the new Lori Holt Christmas Sew-along? It's free . . . . Chriss posted a link in today's sew-in. I am thinking of doing it, though we'll be gone through the winter and I won't be able to print off the patterns. But maybe when we return end of January I can print them all off at once.

BECCA -we aren't on a time schedule either. However the fur-kids are! If I don't get up by 0500, I'm getting a not-so-gentle paw patting my face and a 35-pound sheltie bouncing on my stomach. But occasionally, they let us sleep in.

CAROL - I made the Pink Lemonade quilt a few years ago. It's a nice pattern. And when my son got married, my new DIL asked me to teach her to quilt. That Christmas, she drew my name and made me a 40" Pink Lemonade wall hanging complete with phalange borders. What colors are you doing yours in? DIL, Emily, used black, yellow, and Irish green.

IRISH - We have friends who live high up on the mesas near Grand Junction, CO. She has had Alzheimer's for about 7 years now. The other day she went for her daily walk and got lost. Even sheriff's deputies were out looking for her before she was found. Now she has a GPS ankle bracelet. I hope you and Jim never have to resort to that, but it is available.

TINA - how are you? How are the parents? Did they close on their property yet?

Last night we ended up with spaghetti and meatballs. We still have sauce left so perhaps chix parm will be on the menu for tonite. I hope something tasty hits your plate, too!

Good late morning from warm, sunny gorgeous, SW. Pa....Another day to be very thankful for, not only the weather but we're here.....

Mary, It's a good thing you and your DSIL have quilting in common...Wow, that's a long time to spend together.....Boy, I know what you mean about fur kids wanting their way...Our's don't want us to get up but when BabyGirl wants her snuggling during the night, you best not be laying on your side...She insists on being on my stomach and will make it hard for me to ignore her....I spend half the night with her on my tummy and the other half holding her like a baby by my side.....I know I got more sleep when my kids were babies....The VA is sending an ID bracelet but I'm sure it's not the GPS thing....I will keep that in mind....He's been exceptionally good this week but that can change at any minute....I am thinking, my foot might have something to do with it....One day, he did say, I don't want to make you run after me......Some of the things he does and says, just makes me so sad.......Yummm, spaghetti and meatballs................

Not going to stick around too long...Jim is out on the porch and I'd better join him.....But, today might be a good ugly day (if I can find my energy).....Since my fellow hasn't done my kitchen floor, I'm thinking of dragging out the scrubber and doing the kitchen and living room.....Don't think we're running any errands but there again, you never know......

For our dinner, I do have some sauce, so maybe either spaghetti or tortellini.....Always have ice cream for afters.....

You all have a great day, might check in later......

Happy eating............

Hello all,sunny & warm here.

Maryz I used to be very close to my DSIL .She is now deceased.Good you had quilting in common. Is Bill not close to his DB?

Irish Oh do I understand. It is sad & frustrating to deal with a loved one that has mental issues. The strokes have sure taken a toll here.He is really upset that I can't drive for 2 wks.Yesterday the Drs office called to change his appt from today to later date.I told him remember I can't drive until the 12. He takes the appt date of Oct 7 the day after DD leaves.Guess it means ride transit.lol
Glad you got the bracelet.

Chickie I know you will have that quilting mastered.Sounds beautiful.

Carol The pink lemonade is a pretty pattern.

Tina Hope alls well with you.And all the rest of family.

With all the turmoil going on in Charlotte. It is so sad .DD lives there also. She is in a safe neighbor hood. Most of the violence is on I 85 & downtown. So much burning & looting.
The menu here is sautéed chicken breast & stir fri veggies. Becca

Mary sounds like you had a really busy day! My parents are scheduled to close Thursday at one o'clock.
Irish, I hope you have another good week. You must be on alert 24/7.
Becca, don't you just love it when they don't listen very well about appointments?
I just cut both boys hair, gave them a bath and then cut Frankie's hair, I'll be brushing the dogs out tonight because they go to the groomer tomorrow. All the Christmas blocks are in so I'll be sitting this weekend. I also gotta try to do some yard work in the back yard at some point. ... with me being sick it's like a jungle out there, Frankie just doesn't do the jobI do but he does work 40 hours a week.
I'm making spaghetti tonight too! LOL
Tina

Late good evening,

Things are out of kilter here, but we do eat.

Happy half birthday Mary!

Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow for Kate's dad. I have Gracie for the next few days. So glad she is such a good girl.

Hugs,
Jana
