Good Morning!
Our dog is crazy this morning. And someone in the neighborhood got a dog this summer that sounds like it is a werewolf instead of a dog! Scares everyone! And that 'werewolf' is howling up a storm this morning. And Mr. Scot does NOT like it!
My luncheon yesterday was OK, but despite my telling the other three girls TWICE that it was our Dec birthday/Christmas gathering (because I will be gone mid-Oct thru Feb 1 and one of them will be gone from now until end of Oct.) they still didn't understand that and seemed to have no recollection that this is how we have done it several times in the past to accommodate everyone's schedules. So we had lunch and caught up but no one else brought their gifts except for me.
Then in late afternoon Bill went to my brother, Jim's, to use his drill press, had a beer with Jim, and came home saying Jim's mind was wandering. An hour later we got a call that Jim had fallen and Terry couldn't get him up. We raced over there (2 miles) and it took all three of us to get him up and then another 15 minutes to get him to walk 3 steps, using a walker, to his big lounge chair. He said he was getting up to gather dirty dishes and clean a mess "the little kids" had made. There were no little kids. Terry keeps saying the meds are causing hallucinations but I'm not so sure it's the drugs anymore. I don't know how much longer we can keep him home. It's a full-time job caring for him but Terry does it. We help where we can. Their three kids moved out of state when things started getting bad, so they are no help whatsoever. I am really hesitant to go south this winter because that will leave them with no one for back-up support but Bill is pretty insistant we go. I want to go later, but he doesn't want to do that either. My next closest sibling lives 2 hours away and he is 80 and has his own problems. So it was a stressful evening. We were going to cut/haul wood for J&T today but we'll see what he is like this morning.
BECCA - I'm glad you had a good brother who wouldn't let you shoot the sling shot backwards! Have a good porch day! Do you like to read or do handwork or just sit and watch the world?
CHICKIE - you really had a busy day! If anyone was watching your pick-up go back and forth they probably got a case of swivel-neck! Hope you get to stay home today and preferably in your play-room!
CAROL - oh, I love genealogy. I've had a site on Ancestry.com for years. I don't do a lot with it anymore because these darn quilts take up so much of my time. I discovered there were 4 sets of twins in my dad's family - one set were his nephews though one died. He never said a word to me about them! Since then, two of my brothers have each had twin grandchildren born. I also dis-proved a few of my dad's dearly held family myths. But I never told him.
Supper - who knows! I have a little jambalaya left in the freezer. (with sausage, no shrimp!!) so we might have that with salad. I am trying to 'eat down' our freezer before leaving for the winter.
