SUPPER CLUB -Tuesday, sept 13

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Sep 13, 2016 2:51 am

Hey look!! It is tedious on my phone, but here I am! At the ocean but also keeping tabs on everyone's suppers!and I see I didn't get here in a moment too soon! It seems a good many of you are eating cat food! Shame! What will the cats eat?

Chickie, maybe if you ask your mom for quilts for your three hooligans. Maybe she will too wet and you can so them all together and have a big one and steal it from the dogs!

Tina, it doesn't sound like you are taking it easy at all. To me, taking it easy is sitting in your lounge chair, feet up, chin down over a good book The costumes to sound cute though

Becca, so sorry your DH is having so much pain. My brother has been having a rough week, too. He can only take Tylenol and it doesn't do a thing for him really.

I wish, Irish, you have gotten very clever and how you deal with Jim. Learning to roll with his wishes. Hats off to you. Can't be easy.

Carol, there you go again cooking something yummy that gets me in the mood to cook. I don't want to be in the mood to cook. Not while camping!

Izzy, you are the busy one! Glad your little Dresden is coming around

Jana, the ocean is still there! I can hear it even with windows closed. It is quarter mile walk from our campsite. Sunset last night was beautiful

I think tonight I will make either jambalaya courtesy of Rice-A-Roni and a keihlbasa with a salad, or else grill chicken and have potatoes or instant dressing. I am leaning toward the Jambalaya. You will notice, no cat food! Though in the interest of full disclosure or, there is a container of t--a salad in the fridge. Because I am married to a defective man. He likes the stuff and occasionally I will make it for him

Good morning!

I behaved! The chicken and dumplings came out well. Just need to listen to that little voice, the recipe left out the salt and pepper, so it needed to be added as you ate.

Since brekkie wss j6st finished, dinner ideas have yet to materialize.

Enjoy,
Jana

Mary, LOL, I'm taking it easy :) but there comes a point that uglies have to be done or we have to move, I chose to stay put and do uglies :) I've been trying to walk every evening. I won't be doing much on the costumes, they're very complicated for me LOL but Holly is very creative in making things she just hates to see so anything small I'll be sewing. I know one I'm seeing ribbon on to look like suspenders :) do far that's all she's asked.....there's a house she's making out of cardboard I think, not something that up my alley ;)
Jana, yummy chicken and dumplings. I only salt when I cook, I can't stand the taste of salt added to my food LOL I'm strange LOL
We're having pork tenderloin for supper.

I haven't had breakfast yet, but i have supper plans! DH came back from coffee and brought two good-looking young men with him. LOL! They are relation to some of the landowners on the other side of the farm, and he's letting them hunt deer on our farm. Well, they are from south Florida, and they brought up a couple of coolers of lobster and fish... lobster boil and fish fry at DS1's tonight!!! Who-hoo!!! I haven't had lobster in YEARS!!!

Sorry, Mary!!! That's just too exciting to keep quiet about. You know, your jambalaya really needs shrimp in it!

I think I have some self-rising flour, so I'll make some more beer bread and flavored butters to take this evening. I'm salivating already.

Tina--I'm glad you aren't having to do too much on the costumes!

Becca--it's so difficult when our DH's are suffering. HUGS!

Irish--I'm taking notes on how to deal with AZ... just in case. Wish I knew it when MIL was living with us... I could have used some of it with her. She certainly added a LOT of white hair to my head... what I didn't pull out. Then there were the times we just had to laugh... we had a houseful of her hallucinations... judges, little girls, nuns... you never knew who would be sitting at the table with us!

Jana--your chicken and dumplings sound delicious. Sometimes different broths are more salty which is probably why the recipe didn't have it. Pepper is a matter of taste... I like it... lots of it.

Well, DH ate a bunch of donuts at coffee, so breakfast is on my own. Hummm... what to make... oatmeal? tomatoes? I'll decide later. DH and the young men are off on the 4-wheeler exploring the timber and trails and deciding where to hunt...

Wow late today.Hope everyone is doing well.

Maryz we have to eat banned food when we can.lol Enjoy your waves.

Irish You deal with Jim beautifully.Best to do whatever whenever I find.Makes life simpler. So glad the neighbors are helpful.my children have no clue unless It's DD.She visits more & sees more so think she understands better.I think it's a matter of they don't want to accept how bad he is.I am sure it's hard for them to accept.

Jana chicken n dumplings are my fav.I only add a tad of salt.Depends on the broth you use if it has salt or not.

Tina Sure was glad to read you don't have to make the costumes.I could see you knee deep in them.Baby sitting is hard enough. We just all want to see you sitting on a lounge with feet up & iced tea in hand.lol

Carol Hope comes the good meals again.

Chickie Your lobster would thrill my DD.Know it will be enjoyed. We used to have a fisherman friend that brought shrimp to us.Of course I don't eat it but all my family love them both.Enjoy the bash.

DH wanted to get a BBQ sandwich & chocolate pie at one of our restaurants we go to.
He did eat it as I was surprised. He has been just eating soup & not much of that.I had their chicken salad With cup of brocolli soup.Very tasty. Becca

We had meatsauce over rice tonight.

Irish - Hats off to you in handling your DH.

Jana - I add salt lightly too when cooking. DH doesn't add later I do. I do not have blood pressure issues.

Maryz - Enjoy your trip to the sea!

Chickie - Hope you enjoyed your Lobster!!

Tina - Enjoy your evening walks.

Becca - Glad you got a break to go to the restaurant.

All is well here. Hope all is well at your house too.

All the excitement for naught. DS1 is still picking corn and not getting in until 10:00 p.m. so the lobster boil/fish fry is postponed. SIGH!!! I made homemade pizza for dinner.

This afternoon the hooligans and I walked down to see Ava, then on to DS3's to let out the granddogs there. We went back at 9:00, but I took my truck in the dark. Tomorrow it will be only Ava for granny doggie care.
