SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Sept 11th

Good Morning!
I'm remembering 9-11 this morning. As everyone citizen in our country, I'm sure. It's also the day my MIL died - 3 months after my husband, her son, was killed. I swear she died of a broken heart. It's also her daughter's birthday. The daughter later married a man who's birthday is Sept 13, so she simply switched her birthday to the same day as his.
My son and DIL (Mike and Emily) didn't quite finish quilting their quilt yesterday so they will be back this morning. I had such fun with Mike yesterday. He and I made lunch together, and then went to a garage sale together at the church next door. A neighbor texted me about a quilt rack there for sale, so we hot-footed it over but I decided I did't need it. But I did find a cookbook - Taste of Home's Holiday and Celebrations, 2002 - that had one of my recipes in it, so I bought it for Em. She made me autograph the recipe for her! lol! It was for a bundt clove cake. anyway, we had a fun day, and a nice evening out to an Italian restaurant with friends.
IRISH - I sure hope the job for Terry works out and then everything for Nicky will fall into place, I'm sure. We'll pray on it for you! Maybe something like Carol mentioned - staying with a friend's family - would work out. I like the idea of cupcakes for the guests at the wedding. We just went to Bill's nephew's wedding in July and they had trays up 3 kinds of cupcakes set out to serve yourself. wonderful! Oddly, we just received two thank you notes from them - one to Bill and Mary and one to Mr & Mrs Z. I guess the groom wasn't cross-checking names for the bride who had never met us before. But refreshing in this day and age where we usually receive NO thank you's!
CAROL - I hope your busy day was a good busy! We bought a fifth-wheel trailer, same model as our old one, not a motorhome. Seems we just bought the old trailer - but that was 15 yrs ago. Time sure flies!
CHICKIE - first the street dance and now a birthday party! you and Doyal are turning into social animals! lol! I always feel sorry for you for not having any cats. I feel sorry for ANYONE who doesn't have cats. And some days I feel sorry for me HAVING cats!! lol!
IZZY - goat meat? GOAT meat?? GROUND GOAT MEAT???!!? Has word of this gotten around the farm yet??
BECCA - where is your DS going? Is he dad to your DGS who lives here? Tell him to honk as he goes by my house! I wish you were coming, too! I'd love a ride up the Canal to meet you!
TINA - how's it going with the parents, you, the property, and the boys? You need to be an octopus to hold all your irons in the fire!
Tonite we are going to a friend's house where we have never been before. Brother Jim & Terry are going, too. This friend is a retired Hollywood Food Artist. Her friends include Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Harrison Ford, and Bill & Mary. haha! She made all the foods shown in the Subway commercials on TV (and said Jarod always creeped her out!). Her co-worker made the exploding turkey in the Christmas Vacation movie. She always laughs and says her food doesn't always taste great but it's never less than photo-ready! But I can tell you, we will be eating high on the hog tonite! Truly, we're having ham.
I hope you all are not eating GOAT tonite!
