SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Sept 11th
Good Morning!
I'm remembering 9-11 this morning. As everyone citizen in our country, I'm sure. It's also the day my MIL died - 3 months after my husband, her son, was killed. I swear she died of a broken heart. It's also her daughter's birthday. The daughter later married a man who's birthday is Sept 13, so she simply switched her birthday to the same day as his.
My son and DIL (Mike and Emily) didn't quite finish quilting their quilt yesterday so they will be back this morning. I had such fun with Mike yesterday. He and I made lunch together, and then went to a garage sale together at the church next door. A neighbor texted me about a quilt rack there for sale, so we hot-footed it over but I decided I did't need it. But I did find a cookbook - Taste of Home's Holiday and Celebrations, 2002 - that had one of my recipes in it, so I bought it for Em. She made me autograph the recipe for her! lol! It was for a bundt clove cake. anyway, we had a fun day, and a nice evening out to an Italian restaurant with friends.
IRISH - I sure hope the job for Terry works out and then everything for Nicky will fall into place, I'm sure. We'll pray on it for you! Maybe something like Carol mentioned - staying with a friend's family - would work out. I like the idea of cupcakes for the guests at the wedding. We just went to Bill's nephew's wedding in July and they had trays up 3 kinds of cupcakes set out to serve yourself. wonderful! Oddly, we just received two thank you notes from them - one to Bill and Mary and one to Mr & Mrs Z. I guess the groom wasn't cross-checking names for the bride who had never met us before. But refreshing in this day and age where we usually receive NO thank you's!
CAROL - I hope your busy day was a good busy! We bought a fifth-wheel trailer, same model as our old one, not a motorhome. Seems we just bought the old trailer - but that was 15 yrs ago. Time sure flies!
CHICKIE - first the street dance and now a birthday party! you and Doyal are turning into social animals! lol! I always feel sorry for you for not having any cats. I feel sorry for ANYONE who doesn't have cats. And some days I feel sorry for me HAVING cats!! lol!
IZZY - goat meat? GOAT meat?? GROUND GOAT MEAT???!!? Has word of this gotten around the farm yet??
BECCA - where is your DS going? Is he dad to your DGS who lives here? Tell him to honk as he goes by my house! I wish you were coming, too! I'd love a ride up the Canal to meet you!
TINA - how's it going with the parents, you, the property, and the boys? You need to be an octopus to hold all your irons in the fire!
Tonite we are going to a friend's house where we have never been before. Brother Jim & Terry are going, too. This friend is a retired Hollywood Food Artist. Her friends include Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Harrison Ford, and Bill & Mary. haha! She made all the foods shown in the Subway commercials on TV (and said Jarod always creeped her out!). Her co-worker made the exploding turkey in the Christmas Vacation movie. She always laughs and says her food doesn't always taste great but it's never less than photo-ready! But I can tell you, we will be eating high on the hog tonite! Truly, we're having ham.
I hope you all are not eating GOAT tonite!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Sept 11th
Good morning from semi sunny, semi non sunny, SW. Pa...Not sure just what Mother Nature has in store for us today although, it is just a tad cooler...In fact, I mentioned to Jim, we had to go to the store and right away, he got his JACKET out of the closet, lol.....It's really not that cool, lol.....
Mary, Boy, Sept. 11 really has some "not too good" memories for you...I can see how your MIL would pass with a broken heart...We had the TV on and was watching a video of the news of that day with Katie Couric and it all came sadly back....On that day, I was in Myrtle Beach, going to watch Regis and waiting for everyone to get up when it happened...We had a return flight scheduled for the following Sunday and didn't know until Sat. if the planes were going to be flying...Everyone kept saying, they wouldn't get on a plane but I had never felt safer...It was eerie, coming back the plane was just about empty and Pgh. airport, was deserted....Terry was on a business trip and right across the river in N.Jersey at the time....A day, no one will ever forget.....
I just love to read about your life, all your camping and eating adventures...I've never known anyone who has known a celebrity and such big names....I'm impressed! And as I was cleaning the litter boxes this morning, I kept thinking, and just why do we have cats????
Carol, so nice to see you...I know I had forgotten to tell you but I did make your stuffed pepper casserole, just a much smaller version and it was delish....I'm sure things will work out with Terry and I'm not going to worry about it any more, yea right!
Becca, You know, it seems every other week, there's a new baby in that family of your's...I love, love the new name...Have you had a chance to snuggle her yet? Hope your day is a special one.....
Izzy, I thought for sure I was reading your post wrong, GOAT meat! I know it has to be but I just don't like to think of it...Using the milk is as far as I'll go, lol....Hoping your little furbaby has better days ahead......
Chickie, I now have visions of you on your hands and knees begging for a quilt from your Mother...But, what a blessing that she is still able to do what she's doing.....
Well, not much happening in this neighborhood except the young fellow next door did come and mow our grass....I do have to get out and get a few things and that will give Jim a little outing....
We didn't get that pizza yesterday so maybe today....I'm just not in the mood to even think about cooking....If not pizza, with Mary mentioning Subway, that's always a possibility......
Guess I'd better get moving, Jim is sitting here with his jacket on......
You all have a great day.....
Let's all say a few prayers for our country on this terrible anniversary..........

Good morning,
Typing while i have the Choir on. Their music today is outstanding in tribute to those who suffered with the 9/11 tragedy. If you get a chance you should watch it. We shall never forget, we must never forget .
Dinner tonight i am making from scratch, chicken and dumplings. Saw on a recipe, and it looked really good. Easy too. The kids will be at the in laws, celebrating the dad's bdm the dogs bd, and the end of chemo for her sister. The sister is doing very well and it seems as if they beat the cancer back, but we need five more years and more tests. Thanks for tthe prayers.
I am baking a bd cake for our Logan. He will be 8 tomorrow and came and requested a Batman cake especially made by me. It is baking. He also asked that it be chocolate with my chocolate cheesecake filling. He is a sweetie!
Enjoy!
