SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Sept 7th
Good Morning,
Well, one more night with Chili marked off. And only one more to go. He's a good little dog and hardly any trouble at all, but my cats don't like him. They aren't really dog people. We pick Chili's parents up at the airport tomorrow night about 8:30pm. They will stay one more night in our trailer and then will hit the road again, heading south.
Today will be a little bit of sewing, a lot of laundry, and start getting organized for camping. I have to decide about food and clothes, but can't really pack them until Friday since our trailer is 'occupied'. Sat and Sun we have social events that we can't skip so we won't be home. And we leave on Monday.
IRISH - that had to be scary to have lost your indoor cat outdoors! Glad she came back. I wonder if you could tempt Jim with breakfast cookies. They are really cookies but loaded with nutritional food. I think I have a recipe, though there are probably some on-line as well. I didn't realize Piggly Wiggly was the first self-serve grocery. In fact, I never thought about grocery stores ever not being "self-serve" at all!
TINA - your mom's medical schedule reads almost like a social calendar. Those aren't fun procedures she is having. Is she driving herself? You said your dad doesn't drive much. your brother's soup sounds tasty. And so does your sesame chicken strips! How are you feeling?
CHICKIE - I guess if you want to polish floors you're going to have to do them half at a time. On a day that's not 90+ degrees outside so the hooligans can be outside in some comfort. It's all about our pets, isn't it. I say this as my Riley is curled up next to me with her paw on my computer.
BECCA - What's with avocadoes. I assume there is a 'season' where they are better. I just bought some, too, at Costco. They were all green, then ripe one day, and then rotten! That fast! I got distracted and forgot to put them into the fridge like we learned we could do last week.
We had swiss steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and salad last night. I think we'll be having a re-run tonite. Then on to veggie beef soup with the leftover leftovers. And the last of the leftovers will probably go into the freezer to make hash while camping.
How's the supper plan coming along at your house?

Good morning from summerly, sunny, SW. Pa...Forget that electric blanket, summer is back, lol.....
Mary, At this point, I'd give Jim anything he would ask for or wanted...This morning, I was cutting up peaches to make a cobbler and gave him some slices and he said, just 1 and that was it....He's a very stubborn man, takes after his Mother....Baby Girl has re-thought the going outside thing and won't go near the door but that sure was scary.....
Becca, I've been thinking of changing bedrooms but, maybe I'm stubborn also, I hate to give up my bed, lol...But, we've slept in the same bed for almost 62 years and it's hard to change....
Hoping you also have a peaceful day and DH is feeling better.....
Tina, I don't know how you keep things straight and remain sane...Do you have separate calendars for each parent, lol....I keep thinking, you're the woman with the big "S" on your Tee shirt.......
Today is pretty much another lazy day....We were up very early (Jim kept telling me he had to meet someone at the steel mills)...Jim has never worked at a steel mill in his life so not sure where that is coming from....And you know how weird I get from lack of sleep so all my uglies are done and it's only 10:00....Might be a good porch sitting day with a good book or if Jim wants to go for a ride, we might hit the road.....
As for dinner, at this point, although it's banned, but thinking about "mac n cheese" filets, sweet potatoes and a salad (for me)...Hopefully, Jim will be tempted.....And fresh peach cobbler for afters (that will tempt me).......
Happy eating....................

Good morning,
I am still here, just in case you thought i fell off the planet! LOL
We are still eating through leftovers, should be done today. I have put things in the freezer for a future time. We are looking at a second freezer, smaller size. Different brand too. This way i can keep the meats in the smaller one and everything else in the big one, so if one goes kaput, i have a backup.
We have a new toy - no pun, it's a Toyota Highlander. Love it! It's been 16 years since i got a new car. We kept the other two as well. Now we need to figure out the parking situation here. With winter fast approaching, we are not allowed to park on the street, this allows the plows to work. I knew we should have added the third garage! LOL! Oh well, it will be fine.
Well, my mountain of laundry is calling, as wrll as the dishes to be put away, where's my time to sew!
Enjoy,
Jana

Mary, Mom is doing the driving, she couldn't even open her own door yesterday to get in
I'm certainly not happy about it but nobody listens to me.
Irish, my "S" was drooping yesterday, Mom and Dad brought us all lunch from Wendy's and between helping them and getting teas and stuff and taking care of the boys I was like a tire with the air coming out after they left and I got the boys down for their naps. And can you believe after waking up at 2:30 am yesterday I just couldn't close my eyes and take a nap?! Ridiculous! Even at 10:30 last night I was wide awake! 20+ hours awake yesterday, ugh. Oh well
Jana, I'll have to look up what vehicle you bought
congratulations
Neither me or Frankie has ever had a new vehicle....hopefully when he starts drawing SS in about 3 1/2 years we might look at see what we'd like
My chicken strips are put off until tonight, Frankie brought in a bunch of zucchini and yellow squash so we had a meatless supper of cabalasitas, we'll have leftovers of that tonight and probably those chicken strips
I've been slowly working on my Christmas geese for the Christmas swap
My Dr's appointment is this afternoon after Holly picks the boys up, makes me mad that I have to pay another office visit co pay just to get my results, grrrr.

It's called Blizzard Pearl on the exterior, a metallic white, and the interior is almond leather, very light tan. The floors are black. So i call the interior a black and tan ice crean sundae. If you have never heard of a black and tan, its caramel and hot fudge in one sundae, they are yummy.

Good afternoon! We are warm here again… heat index over 100! Hopefully we will begin a cooling trend before long and perhaps some rain… fingers crossed!
The humming birds have been super busy at the seven feeders I have around the house. I’ve already made 16 cups of nectar today, and I’ll probably have to make another 8 cups later.
Jana—I love that your new vehicle is described as an ice cream sundae! YUM!!! Enjoy! My truck is “Millie” the millennium truck… a 2000 that was purchased in 1999, so I understand your keeping a vehicle you love.
Tina—way too much going on at your house… too tired to sleep!!! That’s ridiculous to have to pay again, too, for your results. Check and see if they can code it for a continuation of the first appointment! I hope your results are good and you can get to feeling all better soon!
Irish—my heart breaks for you. Sounds like you are dealing with my MIL and her “stubbornness”. Glad your kitty came home safe! Hope you are having a good day!
Well, yesterday I lost my head… it’s not attached very well on a good day. I forgot we were going to an Audubon meeting last evening, so no cooking dinner for me. I assumed we’d go for pizza, but we went for Chinese instead. YUM! Tonight… beef. Probably those tacos I was thinking of yesterday…
Enjoy!
