Good Morning!

We are definitely fall here! It happened literally overnight! We are in the 60's most days now. Maybe we'll have another warm spell in sept, but for the most part, I think our summer is behind us now.

We did go to IKEA yesterday and had a good time. They had "traffic technicians" directing traffic in the parking lot! It was BUSY!! But we got what we wanted - a table for our trailer that opens out on both sides like a cutting table. and it has 6 drawers, 3 in each end of the table. But folds to 12"x30". Sturdy enough for sewing! Or 6 people can play cards. Coming home we had not only Labor Day traffic getting under way, but the State Fair, which is the biggest fair this side of the Mississippi River. Traffic was rather impressive. :o[

IRISH - I think I called Jim your brother yesterday. I was talking about him and my brother in same sentence. Tricky work for so early in the morning! lol! Your dress sounds so purrfect! You will look like the queen mum at the wedding!

CHICKIE - our dinner last night was exactly what you described - and spelled! It was good, but she went to a lot of trouble to make the same dish I get when I just throw stuff into the crockpot. But she said the crockpot made it taste more like just plain old stew. Funny, but when she told me what she was going to make - beef bourguignon - I thought of Julie-Julia, too!

BECCA - good news! the little dog, "Chili", didn't chew up our house! They crate him when they leave him because when he was new, he chewed up THEIR new fifth-wheel! So all was good for everybody and everything except Chili.

Today the guys will finish putting together our new table - solid birch and very skookum for that type of table. Then they are going on a run to Home Depot to fetch supplies for the next project. I might take Linda to Michael's. She doesn't sew but she does other crafty things. Or we might all sit around and play dominoes on that new table!

Supper tonite - have we got leftovers!! Last night Linda tried something she read on Pinterest: She froze a piece of fresh ginger, then thawed it and squeezed the juice over mandarin oranges. It was quite good and refreshing.

Bon appetit`!

Good late morning from another Fallish day, here in SW. Pa...To me, 50s at night is cold and waking up to near 60 is cold so the electric blanket might come out of hiding before long...Although in watching the weather channel, we might be back in the low 90s by mid week...Talk about crazy!

Mary, Hey, I like the idea of looking like the queen mum at the wedding.....Jim is a very common name and I think everyone has a few in their family but I knew who you were talking about.....Glad you got to IKEA and the table sounds like a real deal...Had you mentioned buying cinnamon rolls, I'd be on my way west......This was the week last year that we were visiting Kathy, can't believe it's a whole year...Did talk to her last night as they were on their way to California to go to a Celtic festival and she said, if we were in the neighborhood, fell free to eat the tomatoes.....
AND, I also talked to a gal friend and she got a new puppy and boy did I think of you, Mary...This gal, Linda, is also a Sheltie lover and at one time had 3 of them but just this past July, had to put her boy down...She also had 3 cats at the same time and the dogs would herd the dogs into the bathroom...But, she was searching for a new puppy and a breeder near by wouldn't sell her one because Linda wasn't going to show the dog, just wanted a pet...So, then she stated looking for a collie and found one on the other side of the state...So, off she goes and brings home a 8 week old collie and named him Montgomery "Monty" for short..She had wanted a female but fell in love with Monty and the breeder said, he would be breeding again next year and would call her....One funny, she said, when she takes a bath, the cat sits on the edge of the tub and the other night, the puppy came running in the bathroom and knocked the cat into the bubble bath...Linda ended up with quite a few scratches trying to get the bubbles off the cat and out of the water...Never a dull moment at her house.....

Nothing much happening at this house other than laundry and hanging sheets on the outside line and some other uglies....I think we'll be having a quiet weekend, might go to Kevin and Cindy's on Monday...

As for dinner, might have to find some new food, fridge is pretty bare....This could be a pizza delivery day, if I play my cards right......

Happy eating....................

IRISH, I had to chuckle at the puppy/kitty/bubble bath story. Sounds like something right out of my own bathroom! We have an old clawfoot tub and bubble baths are so relaxing. My Riley kitty always joins me and occasionally will crawl out onto my chest and relax with me in the tub - as long as her precious fur doesn't touch the water. And then in runs The Scot! No one relaxes then!! But so sweet to hear your friend got a sweet collie. I have shelties because they look so much like collies and I really like collies. Had one once - a puppy - but he was stolen.

Irish that's a cute story :) Mary LOL I'm surprised Scotty doesn't dive in LOL I'm giggling over that.
Kevin cooked us lunch today and we got to see their new place, it was a great visit! I really love his girlfriend! She's such a sweetie and gives the best hugs! Their neighbor got evicted and left a little girl puppy so they're babysitting her for their landlord to see if they can find a good home for her, poor baby has a broken ear and very malnourished.
We ate lite tonight just leftovers in the fridge.
