daily devotion 9/2

Prayer, the best Knee mail we have:) Our Lord hears our prayers and answers them when and if the time is right. As a child, I can recall praying for materialistic things LOL, I got some of them but not all. But as I grew older my prayers changed. I can recall as my daughter was diagnosed and life as a new mom was so difficult with running to therapies and dealing with her disability I can recall one prayer in particular: Dear Lord just let her speak so that I know she loves me. Yup Prayed it daily. What an idiot I was. I thought the Lord never answered it. Oh, he did every time she says, mom. I expected her to say "I love You" but as time passed I realized that each day she woke up and called MOM she was letting me know she loved me.

You see we say our prayers and sometimes we don't see the results we want--yet God has truly answered them to meet our needs and wants. Sometimes we need to take a step back and relook at our lives. What should we really be praying for? or Better yet WHO?

Chriss does a weekend monthly prayerathon. I love it. I pray for the needs here usually off and on all week and on Sunday in church. I am not going to say I always recall them all at the same time. but I promise when you post a prayer need I pray. We are praying bunch and I am thankful for it.

Go now say a prayer for one of our quilty friends in need. Have a blessed day and be thankful you know the Risen Lord!

Izzy, Thank you for doing the devotions each day. I so look forward to, not only the verse and pic, but also you added comments and those of others. What an inspirational and uplifting way to start our day.

This story brought tears but touched my heart. Who would think that one little word like "MOM" would mean so very very much but it does say it all with 3 letters, filled with love too.

We often think our prayers haven't been answered and then realize God did answer it, just not in the way we expected HIM to. God has a plan and we need to follow HIs plan, not our own. When we look back later, we can see why things happened the way they did.

Izzy, you and Bill are special people and God gave you a very special DD to take care of. Give her a great big hug and smile each time she says MOM. It is her way of saying I LOVE YOU and I need you.

Thank you for such thought provoking devotions. We all need a little nudge and even a sweet, but tearful story. Thank you for sharing.

God bless you and your family. Hugs and love to all. Shirley Mae

PS Thank you too to all the ladies who contribute to this posting each day. God is speaking to us through others and together we can make a difference in this crazy world. Our prayers and your devotions and others comments help us all. What an inspiration to allow us to be a part of this too.
