SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Aug 31
Good Morning!
Last day of August. Seems like we just had last day of July. and June. And 1999! Did the last century go this quickly??
Yesterday we hauled wood, but I got released early because more help arrived. Jim didn't try to do anything, just sat and watched it all from his wheelchair. A relief! So I came home, sewed a wee bit, and then worked in the yard. Everyone was tired last night! Today is uglies, laundry, shopping, and more yard work if time allows. Not sure if any sewing will be on the agenda. I'm making a decorative pillow for a gift and it's nearly done, so maybe I can finish it off.
Bill named our new trailer - "Silver". Our silver anniversary is coming up in a few months so we decided this is our gift to ourselves. Hawaii is out, Arctic Fox is in! Plus, it's called a 'Silver Fox' by the factory because it has aluminum infrastructure. So now, when we hit the road, instead of singing "On the Road Again", we can holler, "Hi Ho, Silver - Away!!"
JANA - so what did Kate make for dinner last night? So nice of your kids to come help with projects at your house! Of course, I know that favor gets returned two-fold! How did Michael's dr appt go?
CHICKIE - I can't believe you were mowing in your heat! I would be a little greasy puddle after ten minutes. I think it would be worth it to buy a lawn mower and leave it at rental and make renters do the mowing. But you said you are down to only one lawn. Did you sell some of the houses? You made me do another think on my tray. I DID find one place to put it - the table lifts up for a bit of storage, like under a dining table for leaves. It fits in there! Though to retrieve it, I would have to dislodge cat food, cat basket, and cat. But there is a place!! Thank you! You always have an answer to all my problems!
BECCA - I'm glad you found your massage relaxing at least. Once, when my usual guy was booked solid, I went to my friend's massage therapist and she was relaxing. So I was happy to go back to 'David', who I call more therapeutic. He even cured my tennis elbow one time, which usually goes on for months. I hope your hubby recovers quickly from your 3-day party. 60th anniversary is something pretty special!
IRISH - Well, the good news was that with Jim getting up so early, the uglies got done early and you got to play the afternoon away! Though putting away summer furniture didn't sound too playful to me! Soon, you'll be able to take leaf-peeping rides in your afternoons! As for the trailer, Bill says if you're buyin', he's deliverin'! Same deal goes for JANA! And MARY Q, who said she'd like it for a 'granny pad' at her son's house. What a deal!
TINA & CAROL - ding ding ding! Supper's ready!
Yesterday I made Southwest Chicken in the crockpot to serve over rice. But after all the woodworking in the morning and early afternoon, Jim & Terry wanted to treat us to lunch - at 2:30. So off we went to the tavern for club sandwiches and salad. And home we went to put my chicken in the fridge. So that will be dinner tonite. I made enough for 2-3 nights, so we'll freeze leftovers because we have company arriving tomorrow for 3 nights and I'm going to make chicken enchilada casserole for them. I don't want their first meal here to be 2-day old leftovers. That's my plan for their third night! lol!
What's your plan?

Good morning
Mary, you wore me out with all that you did yesterday but how nice to be taken out for a fun relaxing afternoon
Irish I'm so looking forward to cooler weather, leaves changing, cooler weather...Did I mention cooler weather?! LOL I woke up to rain this morning and it's been off and on all morning so far
love it!
I have my boys back this morning and we're all happy
The backup that seemed to be great in everyway isn't going to work out after all, she wants $8 an hour;$64 a day! Yikes what would be the point of working if you had to pay those prices! And Holly even offered her $50 a day and she said no, so we're back to looking. I'm not sure what's for supper here tonight, every time I eat I keep getting acid so I'm going to call the pharmacy and see if I can take my anti acid meds with these new meds for sure.
Yesterday I didn't get to sew but I did get or budget worked out for the next 18 months, Frankie needed to see it that far out for retirement purposes, it will hopefully help him see when he can actually retire, he'll be eligible to August of next year but finance wise he really needs to wait till after Christmas next year....we'll see...

Hello everyone,Sunny & hot again.
Maryz Sure glad to hear DB watched instead of trying to help.Guess you were tired after wood working.Know you will enjoy the new home.Silver is a good name.
I would Love a good therapeutic one here. She did good but my back is still not good.May have to get X-rays.Its an old injury. This is the worst flare up I have ever had.
You will figure out the tray .I think as you use something things fall into place.
Irish Putting away the furniture sounds like work.lol But what isn't about keeping a place up.We still have much porch sitting we can do.Must get cold earlier there.
Tina I hope your budget works .You never know what can pop up is the problem.Hope you can get it worked out so DH can retire.
I have never heard of such prices for babysitting.Of course where my DGD is going to place hers is outrageous. And you pay all year & she is off in Summer but you pay to hold the spot. She is a Reading Specialist.
Chickie I would be a puddle mowing in the heat.I perspire in the heat .When I walk my hair is soaked when I get home.Take it easy.
Did get my uglies done this morning. Not very fast but got it finished.
It is still almost no cooking here. For me salad ,grapes.DH wants grilled burger. Will add him a veggie. We are neither hungry so it's hard to cook. Becca

Oh I forgot to let you know, mom has her appointment this morning for the results from that second scan. They were in Cruces yesterday with dad's knee Dr and he has to tub some ointment on his knee now. Anyway they were leaving to go home and her Dr's office called and wanted her in today. I'll let you know.....
Becca, that's how I am when I do stuff, soaking wet....my new Dr said that's my BP that makes that happen. I get like that ironing my fusible onto the back of my fabrics with no steam! It's crazy! Take it easy!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Aug 31
Good afternoon from warm but overcast, Sw. Pa...Not sure what Mother Nature has in store for us.....But, we sure do need some rain...Last evening our neighbor came to mow the grass and of course the dust started to fly but I did ask him to try going a different way and not to spin the tires...So, I get some dust on the porch, it usually needs wiped off every day any how....But, I sure did run and close all the windows on that side of the house, just in case lol.....
Mary, you should be exhausted after your day, even though you were "released" early...I'll bet it was hard for your DB to sit and watch but good that he did...Boy, you really have me dreaming about your camper...1st I'd have to get a different place, 1 that has room to park it, then I'd have to get a huge truck to tow it and just one minor other detail, I have no clue about camping (but I'm more than willing to learn)...Our idea of "camping" was going to a family owned fully furnished cabin (with indoor plumbing) at Cook Forest...We certainly did live on the wild side, didn't we? "Silver" is very appropriate for the new "home", love it!
Tina, at least you have a doctor who seems to take an interest and has found the problem..You poor thing, all these years of suffering...Hoping and praying you will get some relief...And what a shame about the sitter...Holy Moly, what happened to the day when you could actually afford a sitter? If I paid someone that much per day, they'd have to do more than watch kids....But, I guess I'm still living in the dark ages...Maybe I should get out more, lol...Will be praying for good news about your Mom.....
Becca, I'm like you, I'd be a puddle if I had to mow in the heat...And I'm a hot weather lover but just don't want to have to work in it....I don't think our weather is much different than your's but I just hate to wait and then try to get it done at the last minute...We used to close the pool as soon as the kids went back to school and then sure enough, we'd get a hot spell....Too bad the massage didn't help as much as you wanted....You know, maybe your back is telling you to take it easy...And I know how hard it is to cook when no one is hungry...Give me a bag of chips and I'm satisfied, lol.....
Doing a little laundry, nothing that needs hung out and just "redding up", (Pittsburgh language)....It's only 2:00 and Jim just said, I'll see you in the morning and went upstairs...Almost every day, he'll ask me if I'm leaving or when do I have to be home...Most of the time, I'm the housekeeper and sometimes, he calls me "Butch" but that's OK....As for our dinner, I might make some chili...Neighbor, Donna, game me her recipe that calls for zucchini along with other stuff....Here I go living on the wild side again.....
Happy eating....................

Tina I was going to mention your legs & forgot .I googled & read & got lots of info.I too am claustrophobic so I understand.I thought you must wear the compression hose. They would help.Prayers for you.
Our DGD will be paying 17,000.00 per school yr.Is that unreal? I too live in another time.
Irish I really admire your attitude. That makes such a difference in the way we approach life.Yes I have wore myself out this Summer keeping this place up.Quite a job.
Try to take each day as it comes as I know you do.Prayers for you & Jim.
