SUPPER CLUB - Sat, August 27

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Aug 26, 2016 9:34 pm

Good Morning!

I was here yesterday! Several times. But my computer wouldn't let me post. So Tina said she would start the thread and maybe I could post on her thread. But that didn't work either so I finally gave up. Hopefully today will be different.

IRISH - you've mentioned your chicken ala` king several times. How do you make it? I get the feeling it's one of your standbys. I think I have a recipe in my Betty Crocker cookbook, but haven't made it in years.

TINA - thanks for getting us up and going yesterday. I hope you are starting to feel better.

JANA - Terrible that people fly their drones into the fire zones and hamper the firefighters' efforts! And yes, you were right - I was in the trailer yesterday, moving everything in and trying to make it all fit. We have company coming next Thursday and the trailer is our 'guest cottage'.

CHICKIE - happy belated birthday to Doyal!! Your mom's quilt is lovely. I bet she is proud. What is her next project?

We are cooling off tomorrow - from the low 90's to the low 70's and rain by Sunday. I'm all for that! A good rainstorm or two would be so refreshing.

It's kind of after the fact now, but we had grilled cheese and tomato soup last night. I think tonite will be something in the crockpot - probably hamburger stew. Something that we can just dish up and chow down! If I get ambitious, I might make dumplings, but usually by 6pm my ambition has got up and went.

Have you got any ideas yet for supper at your house?

Good morning :) sorry my post was so short yesterday I still want feeling good, the migraine had come back, right now it's gone so I'm going to see if I can sew....I haven't been able to see anything in weeks. My geese need to get finished. We're going in to a BBQ for lunch that we go to every year, it's or Duck Race Weekend here and all sorts of things are going on, I won't go to anything else because I'm still not feeling great but told Frankie we could do the BBQ if he wants. I do have a Dr's appointment Monday morning so hopefully they can figure me out.
Not sure what supper will be but I'm sure we won't be starving.

Good morning from sunny, getting warmer, SW. Pa...Today, we're to be in the low 90s and probably have some boomers later in the day....But, great day for drying sheets on the line.....

Mary, I can imagine how excited you must be (after all the work is done) about having a new "home"....And I'll bet the fur kids will have a good time exploring....And you are so right about my "go to" Chicken ala king and right again, it's from the Betty Crocker cook book...We have it over toast and really do love it.....I think it might have been MaryQ who mentioned keeping your other camper for her when she moves out there, WELL, she might have company and I hope she's not allergic to MY cats.....

Tina, hate to hear you're still not feeling up to par...Hopefully the doctor will get to the bottom of the problem and fix it quickly....Enjoy your BBQ but don't overdo......

Jana, I hate to hear that someone would be so foolish as to disrupt the firefighters, terrible! My Dan is now 28, has the mind of a genus and about as level headed as anyone could be so we don't have to worry...He did say, he was going to ask Cari if she wanted him to have it at the wedding....

Today is catch up with the uglies (which seem to be taking over)..The laundry is done and the carpets just need vacuumed and then it's onto some things outside...I never did get the gutters cleaned yesterday so might give that a try.....

As for dinner, I'm kind of like Tina, just not sure...Although Jim did mention the grill so maybe we'll just have hot dogs and beans.....And for sure we also won't be starving........

Happy eating..............

Maryz - Happy moving!! Bet you are looking forward to your next trip already.

Tina: Hope you get to feeling better soon.

"Irish": Good day to catch up on the uglies. I did that yesterday, so, today is kinda a lazy day. Did a little bit of sewing, now I am just joining the prayer chain and then relax a bit.

As for our dinner: Well I am thawing Chicken breasts. Suppose we will grill them (the whole bag). Then tomorrow we will have left overs.

Love the left overs, 'cause that's a night away from the stove. LOL

Have a great weekend.
