SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Aug 7th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Aug 07, 2016 7:41 am

Good Morning!

We went to breakfast this morning with Jim & Terry. We tried not to as he is supposed to stay off his feet because of his hip stress fracture. he is so unsteady that he could tip over so easily and that would be all it takes. But they insisted they could make it that far. OK. I suggested by text that they at least use a wheelchair. No way!! Jim really struggled and it took all of us to get him up from the table and back outside after we ate. A stranger had to help with doors. And it took a good ten minutes for us to walk him 50 feet. Turns out Terry had given him a muscle relaxer before meeting us! AND - she even talked about running home and fetching the wheelchair which made me feel a little bit vindicated. Argghhh!! No one ever listens to me!!

But now we are home and I am about ready to dive into a big box of peaches to make jam, cobbler, and then can the rest.

TINA - you sure do have to be able to roll with the flow at your house!

IRISH - any baby news?

BECCA - if your family is like mine, they want nothing. And while I like the idea of clearing out excess stuff, when it's things I love, just don't need, I hate it to see it go too strangers, so I end up putting it all back in the cupboard. Sigh.

JANA - that picture sounds special! No wonder he wanted it! I love scenes like that. If I go to the beach, forget the water. I'm all about the warm sand, the beach grasses, and the broken sand fences.

We have leftover potato salad from Bill's retiree BBQ yesterday so I think we'll have that and chicken browned and then simmered in Pineapple Habanero sauce (got a bottle of it at Costco). Salad and peach cobbler should fill us up just fine!

And what will be filling you up tonite?

Hello everyone, just had a refreshing shower so that helped the temps drop.

Maryz I have give & give but never put it out before them.DD has all she wants & DS2 can't take anything,no room.DS 1 has never wanted anything.I too had put it back but know the time is here to let it go.Like DH said when we are gone it will be tossed or sold to strangers.I watched that happen at my Mom & Dad sale & it hurt.I know it's just things.
Your day Ugh.That must have been trying after you asked about WChair.oh the peaches sound yummy. No pie please just raw.

Irish Hope the baby is here with no complications. And you & Jim are porch sitting.

Carol I smell the delish meal you are making.lol

Jana You must have family today.

It was quiet here so DH just wanted roast beef sandwich. For me ham.And corn on cob & sliced tomatoes. Becca

Good late afternoon from a very pleasant, gorgeous SW. Pa....Not too hot and lots of sun, just purrrrfect, especially for sitting out on the patio and reading.....

Baby Levi James has finally decided to join the family! Just a little "bruiser", 9 lbs. 5 oz. and 24 inches long, very good set of lungs and needing a hair cut...He is gorgeous!

Mary, What is it about "bull headed" men?? Jim has an appointment with the Vets and I'm going to ask them about getting a wheel chair...He's to use a cane but I'm thinking for the wedding, it might be easier for me to get him around...I really do miss our Sunday morning breakfasts with the other Jim and his lady friend, (even though they both complained, lol)...I took a peek at Bill's picture on FB, looks like a good time....Peaches have to be my all time fruit and cobbler is extra special...Is it ready yet or all gone by now?

Today has been a very quiet day...Jim was up all night and that means, I'm up with him...He really doesn't understand why he's to sleep during the night....I had wanted to run some errands but too tired to even think about it, so tomorrow is another day (hopefully after a good night's sleep)....

I made an early dinner, hot dogs and beans and we just finished...I had an urge for KFC but that too can wait until tomorrow....

Happy eating...................

Yes Mary, they keep me hopping over here. I'm not feeling very good, I feel like I'm getting a cold. Kevin left the cooler on last night, we finally went to bed just after midnight but I woke up at 4am cold and my throat was hurting. Turn the cooler off but couldn't get back to sleep and feel like do at the moment and keep sneezing and my nose is stuffy then running. I'm going to try to take a nap. Sorry your morning was like that, gosh they should've taken the wheelchair for just in case.
Irish, congratulations! What a big boy!
Becca, I read your post over and over and finally about the fifth time figured out you got some rain to cool the temps down a bit. I kept reading and was wondering how you taking a short cooled off your temperatures there Lol I think my brain is fussy Lol
I'm not sure what's for supper, there's leftovers in there and that might be it.
Tina
