SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Aug 5th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Aug 05, 2016 2:53 am

Good Morning!

I woke up early this morning. I can't even blame the dog this time. So I was up and doing by 4:30. and I'll be nodding off in front of the TV by 7:30 tonite! I can see me now . . .

We were going to have supper with Warren and our usual motley crew last night but he has been in the hospital for about 4 days for low BP and low blood. He was supposed to come home yesterday afternoon but I'm not sure if that happened.

We did a Costco run yesterday, bought Polish dogs and took them to my brother's, per his request, and then I hit my sewing room in the afternoon. I made a long planned wallhanging/table topper for my friend's birthday/Christmas gift. (same day). It's four hibiscus blossoms in vivid dark pink. She has a condo in Hawaii so it will either fit in well in her Hawaiian home or give her a touch of the tropics in her Washington home.

CAROL - your orange zest chicken sounds yummy. I make a similar dish but it's either apricot or plum. I switch it around, depending on what's in the pantry.

BECCA - I love breakfast for supper. Eggs, potatoes, pancakes, bacon, I love it all! Maybe that's what we'll have tonite . . .

TINA - are you still babysitting only 3 days a week now that school has started? when is Mom's next doctor appt? I'll see you at Irish's house for dessert. That shortcake sounds good, doesn't it!

IRISH - So where's that baby?? My first one was 3+ weeks late. I thought we'd have her registered for Kindergarten before she finally got here! Nice to get in some good old-fashioned porch-sitting and even better when the neighbor drops by to help you do it! I guess we do an updated version of it here on nice evenings. We sit out on our deck with our TV. Sometimes it's just for a glass of wine and then we come in, and sometimes we sit out there until dark.

Tonite I was thinking of grilled pork chops, fried potatoes, broccoli, and salad. But I won't start thawing chops until I get the big OK from on high. He might be in the mood for something totally different. It could be eggs, fried potatoes, and NO broccoli.

What are your choices for tonite?

Good morning!

Dinner is simple - eat the leftovers! We have soup, pizza and lasagna.

The yard will get there - I don't know how much help Ethan will be, especially when Emma gets here - those two peas in a pod can find more trouble!

Well, Michael is done with the trash, so that means I need to feed him.

Enjoy!
Jana

Mary, you're a good sister :)
Jana, my grandkids love helping in my yards, not so much in their own Lol
Becca, sorry your DH is in so much pain.
Frankie is going to start on the yards right now, weed eating and trimming first. The lawns look great with the rains we've been having but now are really tall.
I'm thinking of pork chops for supper too and a salad, maybe more squash.

Good afternoon from another purrrfect, summer day here in SW. Pa....These are the kind of days you want to bottle up for the middle of January or Feb....

Mary, I've gotten up that early but by 8:30 AM, I'm ready for a nap, lol....last night Jim decided, we shouldn't sleep and he was up and down most of the night, so I'll probably join you in the "early to bed" group tonight....Sorry to hear about Warren, he sure has had his problems....Hope you post a picture of your table runner, it's sounds gorgeous and would probably look great here in SW. Pa.....I had heard we were to get a Costco not too far from me and I'm hoping...I love that store, usually don't buy that much but sure do love the samples, lol....But, what I do get are super buys.....And as far as "that baby", I'm beginning to think she's just kidding or ate an extra big watermelon...She did post a picture of the nursery on FB and said, "OK big boy, let's get with it, I'm getting impatient"

Becca, Some day, I'd love to sit on your swing with you and I'm sure we'd solve all the problems of the world...I think and pray about your DH all the time, he's been through so much...With Jim, aside from the skin cancer he's very healthy, he has blood work done and his numbers are perfect, but as we all say, "it's all in his head"....

Carol, your menus always make me hungry, you're lucky I don't live closer, lol....Your surgeries sound so much like what my sister goes through...She's had 11 different surgeries on her feet and probably close to that many on her wrists, along with have kidney stones blasted and removed every couple of months...But, you also sound a lot like her, always upbeat.....Hoping and praying for good results if you decide to have the surgery.....

Not sure why but got all my Sat. uglies done today...Lack of sleep makes you weird, lol....But, now, I'm waiting for my contractor to get here and boy do I have a list...And ladies, he's not too hard on the eyes especially in hot weather, if you know what I mean.....

AND I did take Carol's advice from yesterday...Being the obedient person that I am, I immediately went to the kitchen, found some beef cubes in the freezer and put on a crock pot full of stew...Did make the mistake of having it cook all night and maybe the aromas coming from the kitchen is what kept Jim awake all night...I'm just hoping tonight's dinner tastes as good as it smells......

Hope your day is a good one.....

Happy eating.................

Good Evening Everyone!

I am an early riser too. I get up usually at 5:15 AM, however I slept in this morning and didn't get up until 5:50 AM. DH still gets up early for work and it is easier to get up.

Maryz - So sorry to hear about Warren. You were such a good friend.
I know you will miss him.

Becca - Your DH endures a lot. I am so sorry he is unable to get relief.

Irish - I am glad you listened to me and hope you enjoyed the beef stew tonight. (I wish I did live closer so I could share with you!)

Tina - Glad you get help in the yard from the grand kids.

Tonight's dinner was dinner at a restaurant. No dishes to do, but I did make a pan of Chocolate Chip Cookies today for dessert. Yummy!

Have a good day everyone!
Carol
