SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, July 31st
Posted: Sun Jul 31, 2016 3:58 am
Well, it's goodbye, July and hello, august! It's all going so fast!
We were wakened again about 2:30 this morning. Not sure if it's coyotes or a pack of dogs roaming around at night. Maybe both. Do coyotes bark like dogs when in a pack? Scottie was having none of their silliness and went tearing out of the bedroom at top speed, barking is fool head off. He can't get outside, but he can stick his head out the cat door to bark. Of course, then, he blocks the door so if our cat is outside, he can't get in. Anyway, this is becoming a nightly ritual lately.
IRiSH - glad Terry was there for the weekend! I'm also glad Jim was having a few good days, but if he's going to have bad days, it would be nice if they are when Terry is there so you have 'back-up'. And why does Scout have to sleep in the basement? Or the car? Don't you have enough beds? Scottie sleeps on the floor next to our bed, but in winter he gets cold and often climbs up on the bed with us.
CHICKIE - I bet you are getting ready and making plans for the next 'Tasha Tornado to hit! More fun and memories to be had! She is so artistic - maybe you could find some cool rocks and paint them. Pet rocks make great gifts, you know. We have had P.R. (Pet Rock) for over 40 years. I repaint him every few decades. And I just passed him on to my son and DIL.
BECCA - know you and your DH are busy today. Probably not much cooking going on at your house. So, regarding chiggers, I'm getting the impression that they aren't just a bite, but the little critter actually embeds itself under your skin?
JANA - bummer for Kate! Hope she's better soon. My older sister called me yesterday (she's 73) to say she'd slipped, her heel went straight out in front of her and she fell back, tearing her hamstrings. She went to ER in an ambulance and is now laid up for quite a while. Starts P.T. in two weeks. It's going around! I've never used groovy boards. I always used Pantos or freehand, but now Bill has his Q-bot so I don't do much long-arming anymore. Only the free-hand stuff.
TINA - Did your mom go home from the hospital yesterday? Praying for good results.
Well, I've been thinking about supper for tonite. Mexican is sounding good to me, so it will probably be a tamale or chili relleno casserole, refried beans, and Mexican rice. I happen to have a box of Rice-a-Roni Mexican Rice, but when I don't have that, I substitute plain white rice mixed with salsa. And a salad will round things out for us.
Wishing you good times and good eats!
