Good Morning!

Bill and I got several errands done yesterday in Tacoma. We lump them all up as much as possible because Tacoma is 15 miles away and and we have to cross the $5 toll bridge. We also swung by the Goodwill and found a nearly new walker for neighbor, Vicki for $13. It's the one requirement made by the care facility for her to go home on Saturday. When we got home, I got to spend several hours in my sewing room working on my Christmas swap blocks, a penguin in a snowy scene. Tina posted a photo of it in the swap thread if you want to see it. Now I'm going to spend the evening working on my cross-stitch project, 18 months and counting so far. I hope to have it finished for Autumn for Christmas.

CHICKIE - glad Mom is up and running again! So wonderful that Tasha wants to come back so quickly! I think I wouldn't enjoy your steam too much. Though some folks take steam baths on purpose! Doesn't anything kill chiggers?? Boric acid, perhaps?

IZZY - so sorry about little Fiona. Your folks will enjoy coming to your place for a respite day! And a tasty supper. Mac'n' cheese is soft. Split pea soup? casseroles?

BECCA - all those fresh veggies you have sound delish to me! We are about out of everything fresh. Need to go shopping, I guess.

JANA - I agree with you about the guy who started the fire - idiot! What was he thinking??? Glad your hubby had some good info for the cops!

Tonite's supper is going to be leftover grilled chicken turned into chicken stroganoff. I might toss some green beans out there, or a small salad. Something green, anyway.

Well I am up and getting ready for the row by row. I will most likely serve left over pizza tonight LOL I will be too pooped to cook. I am still pondering what to fix for dinner for parents we shall see.

Mary so nice of you to grab that walker. I need to hit our goodwill and see whats new there. Sometimes can find such awesome bargains.

I may look at a goulash with noodles for dinner tomorrow and fresh corn from garden cut off the cob:)

For dessert I think it will be zucc bread:) Yummy and one of daddys favs.

Hugs and happy cooking
Izzy

Mary and Izzy, both of your suppers sound good :)
I got up at 4, couldn't go back to sleep, thinking of Mom. Her thing is moved to today. We're going over this morning.
We'll be eating with Dad most likely at the hospital today, not sure yet where we'll be at supper time.
Tina

Good morning! We are meeting a bunch from the old gang at DH’s work. Everyone is retired, and two have passed. We’ll be having Mexican food, so supper will be light here. Maybe salads and toast??? I’ll have to see what DH wants this evening.

Izzy—I can always go for leftover pizza! I like it cold for breakfast. Yep, I have strange tastes! Have fun on your RBR trip!!! I need to go to DS3’s and see what’s in his garden to raid…

Tina—your poor Mom! Is she still fasting, or did they give her some nourishment yesterday? Best wishes to you and your family!!!

Becca—I have some fresh green beans. They could be on my menu tonight. I can go for them and tomatoes by themselves, but DH will want meat. He’s such a traditionalist! I have used fingernail polish on one or two chiggers. There is also another commercial “dabber” I’ve used. When you get them in numbers that look like chicken pox… I give up on dabbing…

Mary—there’s not enough boric acid in the county to kill chiggers in a blackberry patch or yard. It’s just one of life’s little miseries in summer. If I had a shaker of sulfur and could remember to use it every time I stepped out of the house… Good snag on the walker! I like your little penguins! Since I haven’t put together a couple of Christmas swaps, I’m going to sit this one out and keep another UFO off my pile.

The Hooligans are begging for treats. They don’t get as many as when Tasha is here. They feel deprived and unloved. Ha!!! We all need to diet when she leaves!!! She made waffles twice.

Enjoy!

Good morning,

There will be no dinner here, until I get my kitchen back! I have a ton of dishes from last night and this morning to get done. Forget how many things get dirty with kids around. Their parents will be here in a couple of hours. Then its nap time!

The idiot with the fire burned mostly his property. Which was a blessing, because if it had gotten away from the firefighters, the new homes to the south would have been trapped as the builders are still making the connecting road to the other side. It is needed. He started the fire with fireworks, which were illegal on the day he used it, as well as in a fireworks restricted zone, just to name a few of the violations he faces.

Well need to see what is going on, too quiet! LOL
Enjoy,
Jana

Good early afternoon from warm but now looking slightly overcast, SW. Pa....In a minute or so, the sun will be back, I hope.....

Mary, you do manage to get the best bargains at the thrift shops...I'll have to check out shops and maybe find Jim a cane...Have been thinking about your fur baby, did it come home OK? Our feral, Jake, hasn't been around for a day and a half and I'm worried..I just hate to think he's out there by himself....
And I checked out your block on the Christmas swap and it is absolutely adorable...Somewhere hidden in my sewing room is a pattern for a penguin block I plan on making for DGD Jackie, one of these days.....She just got back from S. Africa and seeing the penguins among other things.....

Becca, I read about you and DH's experience at the hospital and it's just not right! We have been very lucky with Jim's doctor visits etc. Along with our family doctor he also goes to the Veteran's doctor....Your dinner sounds extra good, especially all those fresh veggies...So far we've had 1 tomato, 2 cukes and a handful of green beans...My neighbor has kept me supplied with zucchini...I think this might be the last year for my garden although I do love playing in the dirt but in the end, the critters eat more than we do, lol....Next year, a couple tomato plants in pots on the patio (with me standing guard).....

Izzy, so sorry to hear about the little one...It is tough living on a farm and takes a special person to do it...Glad to hear your Daddy is eating, nothing better than zucchini bread.....

Tina, will have your Mom and the family in my prayers today...You must be exhausted...Try to take some time for yourself....

Chickie, I'm like you with strange tastes...I love left over pizza, sometimes more than when it's fresh, lol... Thank goodness we don't have chiggers around here or at least I don't think we do....Hey, we don't even have those dreaded stink bugs any longer..But, we do have ticks, so I'm told....You mentioning waffles, that's what I made Jim last night for dinner....I'm always elated if he agrees to eat anything.....

Looking forward to this weekend...Terry is to be coming up and I'm going to be having a birthday brunch for him on Sunday...My baby turned 51 yesterday and I'm still trying to figure out how or when he passed me by...Nick isn't able to come because he's been working so I have to send my hugs home with his Dad.....
Not too much happening, just finishing up some uglies...

And now onto our dinner tonight....Once again, what ever I can convince Jim to eat.....

Happy eating...................

Mom did really good and she's eating. They'll keep her in probably till Sunday unless... We'll let's just say she's not a good patient. Dad tells every single nurse that walks in that she's a mean patient Lol
I don't care if we eat supper, I'm too tired to care at the moment.
Thank you all for your prayers.
Tina
