SUPPER CLUB - thursday, July 28
Posted: Thu Jul 28, 2016 9:38 am
Good Morning!
Can you believe July is almost over? This morning their is a bit of crispness in the air. and I saw a few golden leaves falling this week.
We didn't go to neighbor, Vicki's, psych evaluation. It never happened. Facility knew nothing about it. And it was a PSYCH eval . . . Oh well.
sorry I'm late today. I was here earlier, but got pulled away and just now am back. Whew! Busy morning!
CHICKIE - I hope We-know-who didn't get into your supper makin's! I'm still picking berries. I have 5 packages frozen now, 6 cups each - what I need for pies/crisps/cobblers. I don't need any more but can't resist those beautiful berries hanging there as I walk by. I think of you with each pluck of a berry! Hardly any chiggers or snakes either!
JANA - I hope things don't get that bad with Vicki, but she is being discharged to home on Saturday and family refuses to stay with her and care for her any longer because she refuses to take her Huntingtons meds. Her "best friends", who haven't had any contact with her for 15 years but suddenly crawled out of the woodwork 2 months ago, talked her into not only refusing her meds, but giving them power of attorney! What a mess it all is now and we feel caught in the middle and fear we're going to get sucked in.
IRiSH - Personally, I could live on potatoes, being the good Irish girl that I am. However, maybe Jim needs more nutrition. I wonder if you could hide things in mashed potatoes. And if you topped bakers with cheese, broccoli, hamburger/chili, etc, would he eat that? Do you have a nutritionist in your area you could consult? So glad Terry is coming! I'm sure he brings a sense of relief to you, at least for the days that he is there.
BECCA - I remember now, you mentioned a few weeks ago that your DH was having those two procedures done. Poor guy! Prayers for good results! I've been doing my walk at 7:15 this week. Too warm later in the morning - even here. My neighbor across the road, Lori, and I walk together - 2 miles most days. And for past two weeks we've been picking blackberries on our way back.
TINA - I know your mom's procedure has been postponed until tomorrow, so I'll be sending good thoughts towards NM!!
Tonite will be grilled chicken, smashed red potatoes, and salad. And as we have all week long, we'll be dining "al fresco" - out on the deck near the fountain.
That's MY plan. Now what about yours?
