Daily Devotion 7/27

Yesterday I was mowing the yard. I have about 4 acres to mow and there is a spot that is in a valley and in the shade of huge walnut trees. The temperature was so cool and comforting under the large trees then I had to come out and go up the hot scorching sunny hill. God is like those trees and the world is the open sunny hill. We can easily be burned and over heat in the hot sun; we can easily get hurt and upset in the world. Where as in the shade of the trees there was some relief and the temperature dropped like 10 degrees; as under God's protection we also have comfort and moments of calm and the knowing we will be ok and protected from it all.
May you have time to stand under the protection of God and read HIS words today before venturing out into the hot world that is there to discourage us.
God bless and stay cool!!
Izzy

Izzy, thank you for todays pic and devotion. I often take pics of old trees. They fascinate me. Home to birds and so many other creatures too. It spreads its branches and leaves over all below for shade, and shelter too. A great illustration of God's refuge for us.
Thank you for your words too about the hot sunny hill and the cool tree lined valley. The valleys refresh us for the climb up the next hill or mtn, God guiding us all the way.
Becca and Jana and others, thank you too for your comments daily. Love our little bible study each day. Always seems so appropriate for something going on in my life. God knows what we need and you all often supply the right words to encourage me as I face life each day.
God bless everyone today, tomorrow and always. Prayers for all you needs that you find refuge and a tree for shade today too in the heat of summertime.
Love and hugs, Shirley Mae
