SUPPER CLUB - Monday, July 25th

Good Morning!!
A little bit of excitement this morning. About 6am we heard a gosh-awful sound outside - like a cow bawling only louder. and there are no cows near us. It was sort of a hair-raising sound and the cats came shooting back into the house - even as Scottie went shooting out! He ran around every inch of our 2-1/2 acres and the neighbor's 2-1/2, barking. So brave. So stupid. Took us 20 minutes to catch him but not before he probably woke up the entire neighborhood. We still don't know what it was, but the cats are staying right where they are - safely napping on quilts!
IRISH - I really feel for you in dealing with your sweetie. Have you asked him to describe "home"? If he can do that for you, it may give you some insight into where his mind is when he is trying to go 'home'. I am so glad you are looking into getting some assistance.
BECCA - Oooh, I bet that fawn was cute! I would love to have deer visiting me (I don't have a garden!), but with The Scot on duty, we're lucky we have rabbits!!
JANA - glad you are back to 'normal'! When you figure out what that is, let me know!
CHICKIE - how is Mom doing? Sorry about the fleas. Have you sprinkled your house with boric acid? It's the active ingredient in Flea-busters, but about 10% the cost. It isn't harmful to pets or people but kills fleas, ants, and other pests. We sprinkled it generously on the bare floor and on the carpet pad when we got new rugs. Also under sofa cushions, etc. It's effectiveness lasts for years. Our vet sprinkled it on their tile floor and it lasted them, too for at least two years. The kicker is that you sprinkle it, rub it around into carpet or evenly over flooring, and then you have to leave it for a week or two. No sweeping or vacuuming.
TINA - glad you and Mary/Rosebud had a great week. And she was there for your big party to boot! A happy plus! Did you sew much? Your summer has gone way too fast! Seems it's only been just a few weeks.
Today is Autumn Day!! The bad news is we'll only have her for 24 hours. But the good news is that we'll have her for 24 hours!!! This afternoon we're all going to Bremerton so she can see our older grandson's new house that he is planning to close on in 2 weeks, and then we'll meet rest of family at Red Robin Restaurant where our younger grandson works so she can see him, too. She will spend the night with us and then tomorrow go to Seattle to see friends before flying back to Texas on Wednesday. But if life goes according to plan, we'll be seeing her again in Texas first week in November. That's only 3-1/2 months away. Just 14 weeks. About 100 days. But who's counting? , , ,
Supper plans? With the heat blistering most of you, cold sandwiches sound pretty good!
