this is a good verse to quote when someone asks you why your God allows certain things to happen in your life. What we may see as a sorrow, in Gods eyes can be a blessing. Most of you know my DD has disabilities; over the years I have been questioned Why God makes children like her? Why would He let such things happen to such sweet and innocent babes? Those are questions when my DD was first diagnosed were roaming in my head as well. As a mom, you never want anything wrong with your baby. She was my first; I can recall making sure I ate well, kept away from anything that could harm her while she was in my belly. No caffeine stayed away from smokers, no drugs not even Tylenol. I was obsessed with making sure I would be blessed with a healthy baby. I wouldn't even take pain meds during her delivery. All natural. Out she came beautifully with 10 lil fingers and 10 lil toes. No blemish that anyone could see at the time. Then at 6 wks old she was noticed to be not normal after all. At 6 months it was even more evident. Happy and beautiful still but no way like the other 6-month-olds. Years went by and I decided on another child. Well, this time, I ate whatever I wanted. If I had a headache I took Tylenol. At birth, I took what ever they offered for the pain. During delivery, they noted my baby had a bowel movement in the womb. Once he was out the team of Drs took him without letting him cry to clean out his airway. Finally, a cry and I got to hold another perfect 10 fingers 10 toes, beautiful baby. You see its not our doing and what we want. God knows what we can handle. My son has grown and left me for a wife. My daughter is still with me and will live with me always. But her smile, her beauty still shines. She is my light in the dark tunnels. I can come home and be greeted by her taking my hand to come sit with her and watch cartoons after a long stressful day. Listen to her laugh and look upon her smile.
You see she is not disabled in my eyes nor is she in God's eyes. She is my earthly angel. God gave her to me in this manner cause he knew I would always need her and vice versa:) There will always be those who question WHY but I will always answer WHY NOT. God never makes mistakes.
Go now and love those around you. Don't ask God Why but say WHY NOT. Ask him to challenge you, to use you, and most importantly to forgive you.
God bless
