SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, July 16th

Good Morning,
Today is my mom's 102nd birthday. She died when she was only 74 years old. Sure do miss her, even after nearly 30 years.
We saw Drew's house yesterday. It wasn't a house DH and I would buy at this age, but I had to keep reminding Bill that we would have thought it a palace back when we were his age, the dead raccoon under the house notwithstanding. He wants a small house he can afford that he can learn on. And there's plenty to learn here. It was built in the early fifties. And his parents (and grandparents!) are around to give an assist when needed. So I think he'll buy it.
IRISH - so happy Jim got a good report. Let's pray for another one in september. How was your Chinese lunch? It's not my favorite food, but there are some dishes that I do like. You do know a lot about eagles! I, too, always think of you when I see an eagle now. Where is Cari's house in relation to yours? And have you found your GOB dress yet for the wedding?
JANA - I sure hope Stu's fracture begins to heal on its own. If it doesn't, I'm sure the docs will want to investigate as to WHY it's not healing . . I'm trying to remember the details of your house (and YES, for all of you reading this, I do eventually come and make inspections! haha!!). As you come in front door there was Michael's office on the right, a guest room on the left, and then your sewing room was the next room on the left. Michael is moving his office to your master bedroom, so which rooms now will be rooms? I'm trying to keep up with all your changes.
CHICKIE - three of our DGK's buying houses on the same day! (though to be honest, Drew won't officially close for a couple more weeks.) But maybe, since you and Irish seem to have wedding and engagements looming, maybe Drew will meet a nice girl soon, too! In Seattle, in one particular thorny, brushy area along I-5, they brought in goats and a goatherd and let them enjoy the buffet. Worked like a charm. Of course, there were a few people who protested that it was cruelty to the goats. ha!! Those goats were hog-heaven as they hogged everything in sight.
BECCA - New homes in your DGK's lives, too! It's going around. If I could (I can't!) I would buy your DGS a home myself as a show of how much I appreciate him and all the young people who volunteer for service. Tell us more about the baby quilt - colors? pattern? due date? a 60th anniversary is such a milestone. Is this the brother, though, who lost his wife last year? Hugs for him!
CAROL - happy about the stitches and the lack of tingling and numbness. Are you wrapping plastic wrap around your arm for showers? What sort of retina treatment are you getting? Sounds a bit on the scary side.
TINA - I do hope you haven't melted completely away!
Yesterday when we left Drew's house, traffic was so awful (it was 25 miles back to our place) we decided to get dinner. yay! Our younger grandson, Alec (who is in culinary school) works at Red Robin so we showed up there for supper. So fun to see him in his work persona. And nice to know he was proud to be seen by his young co-workers hugging his grandparents!
Today we are having a BBQ of all our Arctic Fox RV friends that are local. And one other couple from Bend, OR (our best rally friends) who just happened to be in the area camping and called to see if they could come by this weekend, visit, and camp in our yard. We said purrfect! They missed the rally this year, so are happy to be able to see the rest of our A.F. clique. They will be a great surprise to the rest of the gang. I think we will be 12 people - maybe 14. I lost count. I know burgers, beans, cookies, and root beer floats are on the menu. Everything else is pot luck.
Can I send you all a float?
