SUPPER CLUB - Wed, July 6th
Good Morning!
We are warming up to 73* today. Yesterday it was only 61* and I turned the furnace on! I better check our calendar! I was going to work in the yard, but it was chilly enough that I talked myself into staying in my sewing room all day long! Though admittedly, it wasn't that difficult to do!
BECCA - happy belated birthday to your hubby! Hope he feels better today.
CHICKIE - you could delay the floors until they are REALLY dirty, then mop trails in them and you and Doyal could play trail tag on them. and the Hooligans would play, too! It's fun! I have a visual . . . .
JANA - what rooms will you be painting? Colors?
TINA - I have half a meatloaf left over. I could mail it to you for Jaz . . . . Is the cleaning fest over yet? we'll be doing that soon in our family room. My niece and her hubby are coming up from Las Vegas next week and bringing their 40-foot toy-hauler trailer. They are taking my piano back with them. It's a 5-generation family heirloom, an upright concert grand, and has taken up MUCH space in my house for the past 40 years. I can't wait to thoroughly clean and rearrange that room! Send Frankie!
IRISH - sending hugs and love!! and sandwiches!
Tonite, we're eating out at a Mediterranean restuarant with two other couples. so no cooking here! and tomorrow night is dinner with Warren again. We try to eat with him at least once a month. along with 2 other couples. A little dinner party that seems to brighten his day a lot. He says little but listens to all the conversation and laughing around him and enjoys.
What's your menu plan for tonite?

Good morning,
Mary - 100 new houses? Did that mean they clear cut the woods or only where the footprints of each house? It sounds like my neighborhood with all the new homes here, at least it is only sagebrush here they removed.
OK - we are painting the kitchen/great room. A soft celery green - from my Sherwin Williams paint sample book. It will be on the outside walls of the rooms and make a turn towards my staircase. At the turn, we are going with a lighter shade, callec Queen Anne's lace, around my bookcases and to my laundry room door area. I found a wonderful piece of fabric for all the drapes that has these colors in the leaves. Yellow background with touches of the reds in the house. Got the fabric on sale too! The painter will only take one day and is charging us just over $500 to do all the painting. Forgot, there is a alcove as you enter my bedroom that will be painted the light color too. All the trim and ceilings will stay white.
Dinner was out last night as we went to Lowes and got all the pieces parts to build a light box for me. Found a florescent ceiling fixture that has a diffuser cover, so Michael will put it in a wooden frame that will have my flat piece of plexiglass. The light shape has curved sides, hence the plexi. He will add a plug as the light is designed for a ceiling. Glad to have a handy guy!
Dinner will be chicken something. We need a run to Walmart for play dough - Ethan is out, so will pick up the propane as well. I have fresh corn on the cob to go with.
Enjoy!
Jana

Oh Mary, I would love to have your temperatures!!!! We were over 100*! Nasty!!! I didn't get anymore cleaning done yet, after taking Jazmyne to golf camp and sitting in the shade for over an hour then we went do McD's....(why do people like to eat there? It's expensive and in my opinion not very good) so by the time I got home I was totally done in! Good thing I did my watering and things outside and my laundry before I left yesterday! You'll be happy to know Frankie wanted pork chops last night Lol. We better pass on mailing meatloaf
Lol I'd be happy to send Frankie your way, the heat here is making us both cranky!
Jana, your painting colors sound so pretty! I love corn on the cob!
Supper tonight will be salad and not sure what else....it's just too hot!

Good morning! Ha, ha, ha!!! Mary, you are too funny, but the floors are in almost that state now. After cutting corn and several batches of jam, muddy boots and paws… my floor work is never done. I’m working on them today as I ran out of daytime yesterday.
Furnace!!! Oh, wow!!! Our heat index is over 105, and we have heat warnings. We had a thunderstorm early this morning that produced maybe an inch of rain, so no watering today! Steam forecast for the afternoon! Yesterday we were outside to shuck the corn, and the hot, humid air just took our breath away. No need for a sauna—we live in one!
The cows are happy for corn season. DH cuts stalks and all and brings them home. We shuck the ears and toss the rest of the stalks and shucks in the back of the ATV. Then we drive through the pasture. The cows gather at the candy bowl and feast. It's just a lot of fun to watch them. They even like the cobs with the corn cut off--like Baby Ruth candy bars to them! You can imagine why Little Boy Blue got into trouble for letting the cows in the corn!!!
So sorry to hear about all of your friends’ health issues. Life is precious, and so is our health. We should never take it for granted, and yet we do.
Tina—I feel for you with the heat, too! I absolutely agree with you about McDonald’s!
Jana—it is good to have a handy man for a DH!
Tonight will be re-runs of last night. Steak for DH along with corn on the cob, mac ‘n cheese and salads.
Enjoy!
