SUPPER CLUB - Fathers Day! June 19th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Jun 19, 2016 2:30 am

Good morning for two days in a row!! And yesterday we stopped early enough so i was able to spend some time fondling my sheeps' ears getting them ready for the animal swap. Loved that sweet smell of cotton! Today we are moving only about 70 miles to Farewell Bend st park on Oregon on the Snake River. Parting place on the Oregon trail where some folks went another direction. Tomorrow we will be at friends' in La Grande, Oregon, and they have invited all my family with us! Should be more time to sew this afternoon if we have power hookups. 😀

Irish, sorry my texts didn't come through. I also tried to send to Jana but it didn't go. Operator error I'm sure. I'm curious how you got those sheets on the line with Jim still in bed! The friend we are visiting had double lung transplant five years ago due to mold she got in her lungs from an old RV. She is doing fine now though takes a fistful of anti rejection meds every day. And now us allergic to mushrooms! And yes, I do keep a travel journal. For 26 years now. I've also written several short stories spoofing my siblings for birthday gifts for them. Many in my family are gifted writers, far better than I!! For my dad's 80th birthday we had all his short writings published in a book. His life's dream. Then he never wrote another word!

Becca, hope you got time in your porch swing yesterday! How many family coming today for FD?

GQ, popcorn for supper sounds doable to me!!

Chickie, I bet you are having a big FD breakfast this morning! Hello to all your family!!

Tina, I know it was hot at your house too! Hope it cools off soon.

Last night we ended up grilling Chix and sharing with sis, Tina, and her hubby, Imitation Al. Then while the grill was out Bill cooked Jim & Terrys burgers too. We also had stuffing and succotash. No leftovers! Yay! Tonight is yet to be determined. I'm thinking it will be pasta of some sort. Either with marinara sauce with turkey kielbasa or else a pesto sauce. Bill will tell me his mood when I need to know. Lol!

Good early morning from a gorgeous, warm, sunny, SW. Pa...This is the kind of morning you wish would stay forever.......

Mary, some how, I knew you were going to ask how I did the sheets if Jim was still in bed....WELL, it was tricky, lol....No, I change the sheets about twice a week, during the summer, and when I put the clean ones back on, I want them fresh from the line...Does that make sense? Now I remember you telling us about the book your Dad had written and the talent you have in your family.....Kathy picks up post cards of all the places she's been and on each one will write what all they did in that area...Said, it's fun to look at them later and wonder how in the world she was able to see so much....
I'm going to have to tell my sister to start being more careful when she's cleaning...Better yet, don't clean!

We're up and dressed for church but too early to leave...I think most of the family will be joining us for breakfast which should be good...If I had thought, I really should have just had everyone down here but that part of the brain wasn't working...But, at least, we won't have all the dishes to do....

Not sure what might be happening later today...For dinner, if we're here, I do have steaks and potato salad, if we're not, someone else can surprise us with the menu......

Happy Father's Day to all our Dad's, those here on earth and those in heaven....My Dad has been gone for 62 years, passed away at age 54 and I often think, he would be in his glory with all the grand kids...

Happy eating...................

Hello everyone,So nice today in the 70s.Feels great.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads here & those gone before. My Dad has been gone for 22 yrs & you never stop missing them.My DFIL has been gone 49 yrs.He would have loved all these Grands as he loved children.

Maryz We have 4 coming.DD can't come as she was here this week.So enjoyed the visit. She moves on Tuesday.

I did get to get on porch a little yesterday as I was pooped after my weed whacking.I finished until it grows again. My flowers are doing good but most aren't blooming yet.

Maryz You amaze me that you can sew while camping.Must be roomier than we used to be but we had 3 of our kids then too.

We plan to go out for ice cream and a banana split for DH.He loves them. Will be burgers & salad for me. Becca
