Jana said it the other day: the word 'fear' in the bible is translated as LOVE. If we LOVE the LORD then we will hold his laws--the 10 commandments to a higher standard. I fear many in this world don't even know the 10 commandments. Most will state the do not kill, then they will say lie and use profanity.

The first 5 are directed in how we are to serve only 1 GOD and what he expexts our reverence to HIM to be.

Without God, the Ten Commandments, and morality in general, is just a list of arbitrary rules. Unless there is a Higher Authority (God) behind the Ten Commandments, all right and wrong are just personal opinion and belief, subject to change.

The Ten Commandments are not a list of rules. The commandments prove that God wants mankind to be free: "I am the Lord your God who took you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage." Following the commandments actually frees us from the terrible consequences of sin, making our lives better.

Go now serve a RISEN LORD and follow HIS laws:)

It is wonderful to have these rules to live by. I often wonder what my life would be like, if I didn't have the gospel and my testimony of it in my life. I'm sure, pretty empty!

Commandments are there for our benefit. When my kids were little, we read a children's book and it taught - "if I obey, I'll be happy all day" - so true for all of us.

God gave us the commandments to live by & what a different World it would be if people would listen.As a child we used to sing.
Trust & obey for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust & obey.
