SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, June 7th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jun 07, 2016 2:32 am

Good early morning!

We'll be on the road in a couple of hours. the cats are already packed. They travel fairly well. But I think they'd rather not. But I need my cats with me. This way, if there's an emeregency, I have a cat handy!

IRISH - I hope Jim's appetite improves. Seems kind of odd that he is gaining weight when he's not eating much. Does he need to gain weight? Has Terry started casting around for a job yet, so he can get ready to make his move in a year? Isn't he a teacher?

TINA - so did you remember what you wanted to day? lol! It's only going to happen more often from here on out. Do you ever go into a room to get something, only to forget what it was and you have to go back to where you started to try to remember? That's coming, too. how far away from you is the property your parents are buying?

JANA - I hear you on the cooking thing with others in the house. When my brothers and sisters were here last February, I felt like I never left the kitchen! I had a full meal on the table every night. Of course, after a week, my oldest brother, Gene, left to go back to Alaska and my two sisters stayed another week. They looked at me and said, "we're not going to eat any more good dinners, are we?" haha!! They had that right! I fed them leftovers!

BECCA - sorry about the tennis elbow. I've had it a few times. The first time, it went on for about 14 months. Dr said just wear the brace and in time it will go away. The second time, I was telling my massage therapist about it and he fixed it! Just a few simple manipulations and within a week it was gone! He also cured my plantar fascitis a few years ago, another painful condition that goes on for months.

CHICKIE - I know you will be busy with Nat for the week! What fun you two will have!

We only have a few things on the list this morning and we will hit the road. Our first stop though, it the Trains Fabric Shop in Tacoma. today is the first day of their big 40% off sale. Most of her fabric is $7 to $10/yard, regular price. She buys end of season fabric, leftovers, blenders, etc. So she doesnt' have much up-to-the-minute latest fabrics, which is fine with me because I don't care for a lot of those. And she has little overhead because her building is paid for and she lives in an apartment over the shop. So she says this is how she keeps her prices down. so when she has a sale, it's worth stocking up! And I have a gift certificate . . :) And if we get there a while before doors open there will be enough street-side parking for our truck/trailer. I took Sue and Mary Q there a month ago, and Sue's hubby was able to park their rig, so I figure we'll have no problem.

Then we'll head east over Snoqualmie Pass. Not sure where we'll be spending our first night. Whereever we get tired, I guess. We just need to be in Richfield, UTAH by Friday to meet up with my sister. And my brother, Jim (he's doing so well!) who is visiting their DD in Las Vegas, will meet us there, too, for one night on their way to visit their son in SE Utah.

And just in case you are wondering since we are a supper club - the menus for the six nights we'll be with family include turkey breast, tacos, and hamburgers. (me) and my sis will be making pork roast, spaghetti, and red beans/rice/kielbasa. We plan to use our crockpots a lot since we'll be tired after a day of riding our ATV's. Nice to come home to a hot, cooked supper!

I may/may not have internet, so I might pop in here and there. JANA, I'm not sure if we'll have time to swing by your place on our way north again. If we do, we'll call, but it will be spur of the moment. When you travel with others, you never know what's going to happen. But if we do, please don't cook us a big meal, yummy as they are. You have enough cooking going on right now! We'll just say hi and inspect all the new changes you've made, and have some cake. There WILL be cake, right? lol!

See you all 'down the road'!

Good morning!

Mary - there will be cake! We have a place for the rig as well. Be ware - it has gotten hot here, especially in the south of the state.

Humm, dinner - need to do grocery shopping, so I will see what Michael puts in the basket.

Good morning from a very sunny but cooler (by my standards), SW. Pa...It is a gorgeous day and I'm really not complaining....

Oh Mary, how I love to read your posts and will really miss you..Have you ever thought about being a writer? You do have a way.....But, your trip sounds like so much fun and well deserved...Very happy to hear that DB Jim is doing well, that's a big plus....Hey, if you get close to Reno, I know another red head that lives not too far down the road and she would love, love to see you....As for Jim gaining weight, he had lost and the doc had wanted him to gain but he also wants him to eat and not just drink Ensure...He does get a lot from the drink an he loves it but just doesn't want to eat, grrrrr....

Tina, so glad to hear your parents will be close....Will they be building or putting in a modular....I keep looking at our yard and would really like to put in a small double wide and not have to worry about steps...You know, Mary is right about the remembering thing....BUT, I think it's because we just have too much to remember not because of age...That's my story and I'm sticken with it.....

Becca, isn't that weird about having tennis elbow? You would think you'd hear more about it happening to the pro tennis players but maybe it does and they go to Mary's massage person...There are days when I wish I had that massage person....

Jana, well, it might be down to 1 more game....I kind of figured, they'd have to come back to Pgh. for the win...But, those Sharks sure do give them a run for the money, don't they?...And to think, Mary might show up on your doorstep, that's special.....

Last night, I went to the final card party until Fall and it was fun although, I had to keep running to the bar to check the score of the Penguin game....But, we did have fun, lots of good food, good company and lots of laughs....
Today, need to take care of the weeds that seem to outgrown the plants, trim the hedges and clean out the trunk of the car...I think the "lunch gals" and I are going to do a Costco run and we might have to take 2 cars....Might even be able to squeeze a little time in the sewing room....Still working on the borders for Cari's quilt and they are giving me fits, but sooner or later, I'll get it conquered....

As for dinner, I'm thinking maybe breakfast...I have some good sausage and some nice big Italian eggs...We have a local store, which is Italian and they brag about their Italian eggs, which are almost twice the size of other store bought...Would love to see the hen that lays these things, lol....

Happy eating.............

Lol Mary and Irish, I already do that ; ) oh well, glad to know I'm in good company : ) Mom and Dad have a single wide trailer; 16x70 I believe that they don't owe anything on so they will be moving it to the property. MARY, you remember where the winery is here? It's across the street towards town about 1/4 of a mile? Just a hop, skip and a jump from us : ) and my older brother and SIL are right next door. I sure wish we had a magic wand, they have a lot of cra.......I mean stuff Lol

I think supper tonight will be some kind of take out, it's voting night plus I have to go sign some papers at the real estate office, go by the septic records place and get groceries because we didn't make it this weekend and Mother Hubberds cabinets are empty here, so this evening is all booked with no time to cook. Lol

Hello everyone,Sunny & warm here.
Just got home from DHs dental appt for cleaning. We ate out because it was close to lunch.Do we need an excuse?

Maryz Safe travels.Have not figured out how the cats help in an emergency.Unless it's that you would have them with you if somethings happened.Sure wish I had a massage person like yours. If they know their business they can really help.Dont even say 14 months. It is already better than it was.

Tian Get used to the fact of forgetting things but remember your plate is full right now.Not that it gets any better .Hope Mom & Dad enjoy their new Home.

Irish There are enough weeds here I can share if you need more. Its never ending & with all our rain we just had it really made things grow.Have fun with your friends.Hope Jim can soon turn around & start eating. If DH ever starts not liking sweets I will know he's a sick man.

Chickie Enjoy your DGD

Carol You must be on your trip by now.Enjoy & have fun.

Will be somethings lite here after our lunch we had.DH even had a pie of chocolate pie.
