SUPPER CLUB - Monday, June 6th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Jun 06, 2016 2:52 am

Can you believe we're already a week into June?! usually, in Western WA, June is cool and rainy. But not this year. We were 90 yesterday. My cats were stretched out on the floor as far as they could get! No curling up in warm baskets for them!

Today we have a list of four errands to run - grocery, pet store for new leash, Goodwill for drop-off, and P.O. - and the final to-do list. We'll leave tomorrow morning about 9 am.

TINA - that's a lot of yard work! You must have been exhausted. Are your parents still there or did they go home?

JANA - are you finding any time to sew in your busy house? Though we are about cooking/eating in this thread. And I bet you're finding time to cook!

BECCA - Bill is funny - when he was working, he deplored anyone who didn't keep their computer wiring closets neat and tidy - and some of those closets were room size since they were city of Tacoma computers - and yet at home, he can't keep his underwear drawer organized! I just shake my head!

CHICKIE - What's the word in Kansas this week?

CAROL - you are on your retirement countdown! Are you excited?

Tonite's supper is going to be hamburgers on the grill. I have homemade buns and burgers in the freezer I'll thaw, and we also have the making of a big old salad! I made cranberry/cream cheese bars over the weekend, so we have those for afters. Funny thing - this recipe was in the cooking themed mystery I was reading a few weeks ago. It called for 4 oz of cream cheese for the frosting. And I had 4 oz of cream cheese leftover from something else. This is what prompted me to make the recipe. But by the time I got around to it, the cream cheese had a crop growing on top of it, so I had to ditch it and make a regular frosting. But it works!

I hope there's no funny story in your supper tonite!

Good morning from sunny and slightly cooler but gorgeous, Sw. Pa...We did have rain yesterday and it will probably be back in a few days.....With the great weather and the rain, everything is growing including the weeds.....I even have little tomatoes already so maybe by the 4th, we'll get a red one.....

Mary, sounds like you have another busy, busy day..You're going to need that trip to relax, if you can....When Baby Girl gets too warm, she stretches out across the vent and cools her tummy (which is quite big)....

Not too much happening in this household today, really quiet after Nick goes home...But, he sure helped me during his stay and promised, if he doesn't get a job, to come back and spend more time...Such a good guy, so proud of him....
Changed the sheets and have them on the line and just "redding" up...This afternoon we have an appointment with the attorney to go over and sign the new wills...So, my day is sure not too exciting...As for dinner, there again, it's up in the air...Jim really doesn't want to eat, he's content to drink his ensure and he's putting on weight but I keep telling him, he has to eat..So hopefully something will pop into the old noggin and I can cook up something good.........He's even slowed down on his goodies so my baking has really taken a back seat....But, we always have ice cream for afters (if I can think of something for befores, lol)......

Happy eating...............

Good morning!

It is happy dance around here - I am on the new computer - FINALLY! I am fat fingering the keys on the keyboard as the spacing is different than my old one. Michael has it all set up with tons of stuff I didn't want, but oh well, at least I have a new computer to play with. Only need a few things to learn, like where my sewing bookmarks are and the QIAD tab! Oh yes, Google! LOL

Dinner tonight - the kids are home today so I will see what strikes their fancy - maybe tacos. I am not used to having to cook every single night, with just the two of us, I could get away with leftovers or cereal!

Irish - the Sharks play again tonight - maybe on home ice they can tie up the series. The Warriors basketball team is tearing up their finals and the Giants ae still in first place - good for my teams! Hope that Jim gets his appetite back.

Tina - I must have missed where your parents took the property - so glad they will be close.

Mary - enjoy the vacation! We too have been hot, even stretching up to almost 100, but then I do live in the desert!

Enjoy!
Jana

The word in Kansas is steamy. No more rain for awhile... just warm weather with humidity percentages to match. DGD was gone 24 hours and returned last eve for this week. She's so much fun!
We had Braum's salads and burger and fries for DH last eve. Tonight we had smorgasbord from leftovers in the fridge. Tomorrow I cook. DGD makes great salads, so I need to come up with the rest of dinner.
