My DH preached his very first sermon on this verse. He brought in different types of examples. He was this fat jar/vase made from clay and covered in ornate colors stating he could hold so much and could do many different jobs from holding flowers to cookies; I was a tea pot--he said warm inside, had a handle to hold on to and poured out comfort:) how sweet huh! We each were molded by the Father into who we are today. Can you think of an example of what you might represent in the clay world?
My DH mentioned because he has a potters wheel and turned a many pots in his time how difficult it is to pull the clay up into the shape you want and to make sure the clay is even all around and doesn't colapse and that often it had to be pushed back down and done again. Now think of the LORDS job of molding us;how hard it is to keep us focused on HIM and not going astray and how he has to "redirect" us. Such a great analogy.
Let the LORD mold you into a better Christian daily:) But more importantly than that let him cover you with HIS Sons blood to forgive you and provide you everlasting life. John 3:16
Go and be a vessel unto the LORD!! What type of clay pot are you?
God Bless
Izzy

Izzy, what a beautiful way to start our morning. I always liked this verse, the potter's clay. Such an awesome verse to build his first sermon around. And quite a way to honor you, his wife, with his description of you as a teapot. The perfect description of you in your busy life but always have time for others.
Thank you so much for bringing us a devotion each day. I look for them each morning. Sorry I haven't posted a comment before now but they mean so much to me, the verse and your little devotional comments under it.
I also enjoy reading all the comments from others on QIAD. Each of you inspire us as well, in your own way. God bless all who work for the Lord in their own lives and their own corner of the world. Reaching just one can touch the lives of so many others.
May God bless you and your husband as you serve the Lord with your lives. Praying for your church as well that it continues to grow and prosper and reach many many lives along the way.
So, everybody, if your life changes a little today, God is working His clay in our own lives, the true potter of life. May your day be blessed with smiles, sunshine, and much happiness. May your prayers be answered and may God bring you comfort and peace today in all that you do.
Love and Hugs to all, (sorry I haven't posted for a while) Shirley Mae

Yes, we are a work in progress - we may think that we know what He has for us to be, but, He comes in and every so often, remodels us. He is like the gardener that prunes the rose bush back,to a smaller size, in order to make it stronger and bloom more beautifully.
