SUPPER CLUB - Wed, May 25th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed May 25, 2016 3:39 am

Good Morning!

I keep wanting to write January instead of May in my Topic Head. Wasn't it just January? I expect Christmas will be along any day now! Where is time going?

IRISH - Well?? Did the Schwann's man wear his shorts for you??? Gosh! I just had a thought - what if this year you get a Schwann's WOMAN?? That would be no fun at all!!

CHICKIE - The only time we got into chiggers was at Folsom State park east of Sacramento. Such greenhorns we were! Itching so bad! Thought our motorhome was infested with something. We sat outside in our campsite until 10pm, bug-bombing our rig, all our pots and pans and open food items out with us. I HATE chiggers!!! so glad we have none here. And few ticks.

BECCA - so happy to hear the good news about Avery going home! My fake daughter (Autumn's best friend since age 9) named her DD Avery, too. Her Avery is now in first grade. How is your Dd's move going?

JANA - turkey dinner? What time did you say?? Poor Stu! Hope his hand heals with no residual.

TINA - how is mom doing? Is she being transferred to the rehab facility today?

Yesterday I bought a flat of strawberries, spur of the moment. I spent all afternoon making 4 batches of jam. We are still eating on our lasagna for tonite's supper. As for beans, I use them a lot in place of meat in all sorts of recipes. I'm not a big meat-eater and DH also loves beans of all sorts, so we eat a lot of vegetarian meals. Just because we like it, not because we are declared vegetarians. The first sniff of bacon and I'd be off THAT diet!! lol!!

Got to hit the shower. Meeting my neighbor in an hour to walk and then she wants to run up to Port Orchard (think 'Cedar Cove') to hit Joann's there and a couple of thrift shops and wants me to go with her. And I have to be home in time to prepare appetizers for our new friends (the other Doyle) to come over at 3:30 for wine and trailer talk.

What's on your menu tonite?

Good morning from a very sunny getting warmer, purrrrfectly gorgeous, SW. Pa....Going into the 80s today and if that isn't purrrfect, I don't know what is.....

Mary, OH YEA, Mr. Schwan was here and in his shorts...Was quite a welcome sight to these tired old eyes, lol....A "Ms Schwann"??? Jim might be happy but I think I'd be cutting down on my orders.....
My heavens, you have a full day planned...A trip to Cedar Cove AND thrift shops. you are fulfilling my dream...

Becca, sounds like little Avery is well on her way...She does sound a scrapper with lots of spunk...I think the family is in for some fun times with her....

Tina, been thinking of you and your parents...Hope everything will start to settle down....You need to take care of yourself....

I spent all day yesterday playing in the dirt...1st, really helped the economy at Home Depot and almost couldn't get all the plants in the car...And then planted almost 6 flats of impatients and put down bags and bags of mulch...Today, we're off to fix the graves and I also want to finish my porch boxes and hangers...This addiction is almost as bad as fabric.....Not sure what all Terry will be doing tonight but, I have a list!

Last night our Penguins played a "do or die" game and won, so now it's back to Pittsburgh for the BIG game, Thursday night and hopefully onto the finals......My tired old heart can't take too many of these games.....

As for dinner, might have swiss steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and a veggie....Last night, I got the urge for bread pudding and made up a big casserole so that will be afters...Plus we do have some super good ice cream sandwiches from Mr. Schwann..........

Happy eating..........

Eagle update....Little one in Ft. Myers is still in rehab for his broken femur and doing very well..His/her sibling has been enjoying the independence and yesterday, might have flown off to meet up with other "juvies"...Always sad to see them go but with hopes for a long life of soaring free.....

Hi Ladies,

My husband is taking me out for dinner. My Birthday was Monday and I was to eat light prior to the prep on Tuesday for Colonoscopy. so I asked him to wait till the test was over to treat me to dinner.

So tonight is the night!! And I am hungry!!! LOL

My test went well. Just a few small polyps removed. Also doctor did the throat scope and stretched it out. I was having a few eating issues and he found that the opening had shrunk from previous Heartburn etc.

so I am Good as New!!! LOL

See you all later.

Good afternoon -

Oh what to cook - still up in the air and it is 5 p.m.! I think I will grab some chicken from the freezer and back it and add rice pilaf and green beans.

Stu is doing better - still waiting on the surgery and the full cast - he is in a splint cast at the moment. Guess that he will have to use the special TSA lines when he travels ashe will set off the metal detectors! LOL

I got a new Iris catalog in the mail - guess I will make a dent in the credit card - the irises won't be shipped until fall, so I have time to ready the beds where they will go. There are some gorgeous irises in that catalog!

Enjoy
Jana
