SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, May 22nd

Good morning!
We have rainy weather here, but also lots of lush green. It's a trade-off. and rain keeps me inside. And you all know what that means! ;o)))! I get to sew! I have 3 of the 21 blocks finished in my Texas quilt. The easy 3. This is just a fun project for me because it looked challenging and I can't resist a challenge. And because we love Texas.
BECCA - congratulations on your new little baby girl!! I'm sure she'll be fine and home with mom and dad in no time. She just needs a little time in the NICU to absorb the extra fluid in her lungs. It's not an uncommon occurance. It's called meconium aspiration. Meconium is baby's first stool, is black and sticky, and occasionally it is released during birth, mixing with amniotic fluid. And as Baby takes first breath, a bit of it can be inhaled. How much is inhaled depends on the severity. It takes a few days of waiting for it all to be absorbed by baby, while they get a little extra oxygen. She should be fine in a few days if they are telling you she can go home in a week. I hope you will get to meet her soon!
CHICKIE - what a story about the armadillo! Poor thing! He probably thought he'd found the purrfect home!! lol!! All the times we've been to Texas, I've never seen an armadillo, though we see where they've been digging in the campground we stay in. My next TX quilt block, which I'm going to do today, is an armadillo. I'll think of Doyal and the Hooligans (I'm sure they were on scene!) as I do it!
CAROL - I remember my last day of employment was Jan 31, but the last shift I actually put in was Jan 12th. sure don't miss it!! Have you started packing yet for your trip?? I go to bed early, too. Usually about 9pm and I generally am up by 5am. I think early morning is the best part of the day!
We are going to start out the morning with our usual Sunday breakfast with my brother and end the day with supper with DH's brother and sister and their uncle at a pizza restaurant to celebrate Uncle Ernie's birthday. He has no family so every year I engineer a party to get Bill and his siblings together. I swear, if it weren't for me, this family would never see each other! But oh well. At least we'll let Ernie know we care. He's a sweetie and always takes such pleasure that his niece and nephews remember him. In between our "eatings", there are uglies to be done and hopefully I'll get to that armadillo block!
Needless to say, no cooking for me today! I hope you have an easy supper, too!
