Happy Norwegian Independence Day!! While I'm not a Norsky, all my kids are. It was always celebrated in our house while they were growing up.
So where were we all yesterday? To be honest, I got so busy with things I simply forgot to post until Bill said to me, "I haven't read Supper Club yet. What's for dinner tonite?" But by then I was heading out the door for my doctor appt. I hope no one went hungry! We almost did - I had no plan for supper. Just couldn't think of anything except the last of the potato salad in the fridge. So we ended up with that and a big green salad and some toast.
My physical yesterday went very well. My cholesterol was slightly elevated though the LDL/HDL ratio was acceptable. But she said to take Mega Red daily (fish oil). She said the doc calls it Nature's Lipitor. I have it but can't remember to take it. Now, I'll make more of an effort.
I think tonite's supper will be pasta of some sort - When we get closer to the moment, DH can tell me if he's in the mood for red sauce, or pesto. I'll add black beans to it for some protein. And some salad.
What's going on your menu tonite?

Good morning
Glad your Dr's appointment yesterday was good Mary.
We've been eating, but just been so exhausted lately, my cough wears me out, I'll be glad when it's gone.
Frankie is sickly now so I'm not sure what I'll fix for supper, maybe I'll do soup. .. sounds good to me

Mom and Dad are waiting to hear from the bank on the property we found. I hope they can get it.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for all of us.
Tina

Good morning,
Mary - glad that the physical came out good. I guess I will get mine in a couple of years, when I have to sign up for Medicare. Kicking and screaming!
Tina - hope the bank comes through quickly. No fun having a sickie, hope he feels beter soon.
Today is a quiet day here. Dinner will be my polska kielbasa, broccoli, tortellini one pan meal. I will make homemade rolls, Kate loves them.
Enjoy,
Jana

Mary—no, we haven’t gone hungry here! Sunday I found a piece of a ham in the freezer, so I popped it in the crock pot. I made a big pot of rice and used some of it for red beans and rice with ham and Cajun flavoring. We had re-runs last night. And, since I never am able to make a small batch… re-runs tonight. Later the rest of the ham and rice will be ham-fried-rice. My cholesterol runs high, but the ratio is always good. I’ve avoided any statins and take fish oil. I think I’ll try the mega red next time I run out.
Tina—so sorry to hear you are all ailing at your house . Soup is always good! Hummm… maybe I’ll turn some of the red beans, brown rice and ham into a soup tonight and add some more veggies to it. We are so chilly here. I hope things work out for your mom and dad’s property! I’m sure relieving some of your stress will help your physical condition! HUGS!!!
The rain here is so welcome! We are chilly--50s and low 60s. I am headed to sew!

Good morning from semi sunny, a little chilly but it's still a nice day in SW. Pa.....You know the saying, any day above ground......
Mary, glad you got good news at your appointment...I think everyone, at one time or other, hears that their numbers are up...Doc put me on meds and my joints started hurting...Of course he didn't like to hear that but I knew what I knew and I started taking it every other day or every 3rd day and no more aches..He's a good friend but every once in awhile, have to tell him a thing or 2, lol...Poor Bill, has to check the computer to see what he's going to be eating...
Tina, I must have missed something but are your parents relocating, building??? I think about you often and what all you do and just am in awe....BUT, you have to take care of yourself, you know......
I've been kind of MIA for a couple of days...Not sure why except in a mood, lol...There are times when things with Jim work on me and then I have to get myself back together, does that make sense????
Jim got some of his stitches out yesterday but has to go back because the place on his arm isn't healing as fast as it should...By the time, he gets "healed" it will be time for his 6 month check up and then we'll start all over...One vicious cycle...BUT, if you would have seen him, the surgery on his forehead gave him a pretty good shiner...So of course I took credit, why not......Poor guy....
But, I have been busy running to lunch, running to doctors, spading the garden (Ted brought us some tomato plants) weed whacking and just trying to get things done (which will not happen)....Found a cute panel for a baby quilt and am anxious to get that started but finishing up Cari's quilt 1st.....
Mary, the other day, you told us about the injured eagle that has been released...Always happy to hear good endings...Well, here's another story...An owl had attacked the nest in Ft. Myers and had knocked the 2 little ones off the their branch..One was OK but the youngest one disappeared...Not sure if it was still alive but people kept looking and would you believe, the eaglet was found, 6 days later...He had suffered a broken femur, was weak but the little dickens is a survivor and is now back in the rehab hospital...They operated, inserted a rod and pins in his leg and hopefully, on his/her way to recovery...The problem will be the long recovery and by the time they release him/her, his family will have left the nest...Not sure if he/she will be able to learn to hunt on his/her own...But, this little eaglet is a survivor and I have no doubts, he/she will make it.....But, it's been too much drama for me, like worrying about one of the kids.....
And speaking of kids, Nicky's prom picture is on my face book page...Oh my, he's so handsome.....
Well, now that I've written a novel, best figure out what to have for dinner....Thinking meat loaf, baked potatoes and a veggie...Jim will have to be satisfied with ice cream for afters.....
Happy eating...................
